Chapter 2: The start.
(chapter starts from when the participants wake up in the classroom. Before proceeding, note that this ignores and changes some parts of the original danganronpa series, so don't think too hard about things that wouldn't make sense. Trigger warnings will be added into the notes and tags as they appear in the work itself)
[TIME: 12.25 pm, Sunday. LOCATION: ???, Florix High, The classroom. Main POV: Rei Takiru]
Rei woke up, confusion immediately awakening in him. Where is he, what is this place? It's not his house, that's for sure.. He looked around a bit more, soon noticing other people, still appearing to be asleep on their seats. Seats? Right, this is a classroom. He tries to look around for an exit, but in the place of a door, is a metal block, locking them inside. It doesn't look like there's anything else.. expect a window!
Rei makes his way over to the window, looking outside. Its just.. water!? Are they on a boat.. Possibly an island? But why would they be there.. Rei truly has no idea whats going on, and is growing a bit worried.
He tries to see if he can recognize any of the people around, but everyone's asleep and he wouldn't want to disturb them. He searches around the room for clues a while longer, figuring its the best thing to do.
Eventually, the others start to wake up. Only a few at first, but in about the span of 10 minutes everyone had finally woken up. As everyone exchanged confused looks and eventually names, suddenly one of the people walked over to Rei.
"ahm, hello.. My names Tera.. And, this might seem like an odd question, but.. do i know you?"
Rei stared at Tera, confused. Did they? As he stared at the mystery person for a while longer, he faintly remembered a friend of his, from many years back. Well, not exactly a friend, but close enough..
"..Tera. I think we do.. I'm Rei. We used to be friends, right?"
Tera nods, when suddenly one of the others starts to scream. Everyone turns their head to look at the screaming person, who appears to be holding a note. Rei immediately runs over, worried.
"What the- whats wrong?!" Rei yells at the person, hoping they can hear his voice trough their own screams.
The person looks over to him, now looking very calm. The room went silent, before the person spoke, acting like nothing happened.
"I apologize for screaming, i needed to get everyone's attention without too much trouble." How nice of them, surely they'll be an absolutely lovely person to be around..
Someone jumps in, immediately questioning the strange (and a bit annoying) person. "Who are you, what do you want?! Are you the reason I'm stuck here!? How do i get out!?" And so on, it probably went on for a minute or two. Eventually, Rei grew tired and just put a hand over their mouth, looking back at the one who was screaming earlier.
"So.. why'd you need our attention so bad?" They chuckle, trying to sound intimidating, but really just sounding annoying as fuck.
"Well, simply i found a note that said we had to go over to the gym for something." Thet thought it was important enough to scream and cause me to almost have a heart attack? Its not like we can even go anywhere.. We're stuck.
Just as i was about to talk, a loud noise was heard from behind us. Everyone turned around, only to see the metal door slowly opening, revealing what kind of looks like an old school building, multiple red arrows pointing at a specific direction. We exchanged looks, and soon everyone was heading into the unknown. It was weird.. He already trusted these people, at least kind of. Why though? He just met them about half an hour ago, there's no reason to trust them.. Regardless, Rei stayed quiet, and continued on his way.
[TIME: 12.54 pm. Location: ???, Florix High, "The gym". Main POV: Rei Takiru]
We all walked over to the place called "the gym" together. We looked around, a bit confused. It didn't seem like a normal gym.. There was a huge stage, taking up over half of the place. There was also benches and plants on the sides, with no changing or storage rooms in sight.. We looked around the place, even though it was difficult due to how dark it was. Seems someone forgot to turn the lights on..
Then, we heard footsteps. And a click. And then, we we're blinded with a sudden light. When i finally got my eyes open, there was someone standing on the stage, looking at us with a confused look.
"Uhm.." Was all the person said, before turning on a microphone and speaking into it more clearly. "heyy.. Youre awake already?" It seems they knew about whats going on. Oddly enough, this person also seems familiar.. I just can't remember why. Guess now isn't the time for that, as the person from earlier is back at it with the questions, this time more aggressive and directed towards the person on stage, who was now smiling ominously.. this isn't good, is it?
"Hey now, calm down calm down! Its alright, all of your questions will be answered soon. Or at least most..", was muttered into the mic as the person sat down.
It seems we're in for a wild ride, huh?
