If I want to survive this cruel world and protect the egg, I have to become stronger.

And to become stronger I have to leave my nest.

I also don't want to be killed by some human, monster or anything else.

Humans are a danger that is likely to be constant, as could be seen when the egg thief came.

Although I doubt that the egg's parents are looking for it, they are most likely dead.

How many humans would it take to kill a dragon?

And even more so considering how much of a disadvantage human have here.

Seriously, D seems to hate them.

On the bright side, I'm no longer human, I'm a spider.

As a spider, I am quite agile.

I can jump about 2 meters and I can climb walls.

It is not certain that you can climb all the walls but I can climb most of them.

For now, my best combo attacks are my poisonous fangs and my threads, tying up enemies and then biting them, making sure to inject my poison.

I also have my hypnosis, but I'm still not sure how to use it.

I also have another advantage, gluttony, with this ability, I can replenish both my sp (stamina), MP (mana) and hp (life) by eating everything within my reach!

...well, that's what I remember, I don't have the title (for what I know), so not everything is certain about gluttony.

Anyway, I'll stick to the strategy of tying up my enemies and biting them, thanks to that, I killed the damn frog that fell into my trap.

Seriously, how lucky I must be to have the same species fall into my trap again.

I was moaning in my thoughts when the system voice interrupted me by saying something out loud.

Condition met. Acquired title [Nasty eater].

Acquired skills [Poison resistance Lv1] [Rot resistance Lv1].

The [Poison Resistance Lv1] skill has been integrated into [Poison Resistance Lv4].

Great! a new title.

I now have 2 or 3 if I am not mistaken.

Although it bothers me a bit that when I was specifically looking for a title, but when I'm not doing anything spectacular, I get them.

I guess it can't be helped, although I wish it didn't have nasty in the title.

I mean, have you even tried it? These frogs are delicious, even if they do taste a little bit like chicken!

It's still disgusting.

Bah, what do you know.

Well, arguing with the surprisingly talkative system won't do me any good.

I'm also not going to think about why the system seems to have a mind of its own but hey.

Thanks to the title I got more resistance to poison and resistance to... rot?

So now I can eat zombie corpses or something?

What exactly is rotten here?

Will it taste good?

Many questions and few answers.

Well, I'm not complaining, the more skills I have the better, that means I'm more likely to become stronger than the original kumo.

Although raising my resistances alone will not help me protect the egg.

Well, whatever.

I'll get all of that later

Proficiency has reached the required level. The skill [Spider Thread Lv5] has become [Spider Thread Lv6].

After a while of playing with my threads, yes, I don't deny it, it's boring to wait for prey and I can't leave the egg carelessly my skill in using the threads went up little by little, now it's at level 6.

One of the things I practiced a lot was its elasticity, since the more elastic it was, the more uses I could give it.

Although it does take time to improve the skill level of my skills.

It sure is looking more and more like an RPG, only in real life.

As a result, the entire interior of my house is now blank.

Compared to the first version of the base I made; my house improvised a lot.

For one thing, I added more layers of traps that were in the trap.

So, unless my enemy had fire, it would be more difficult for them to enter or escape from my house.

Now my home feels more secure.

Although not so much as to leave the egg.

Also, simply making more traps would not be enough to raise the level of Proficiency in my skill, so I went about covering the walls as well.

Now the walls are blank.

All the walls have wallpaper from my yarn, made by me.

What pride.

But don't misunderstand, this wallpaper is not just for decoration.

No, no, no, no, no.

I can't afford just that, you know.

The paper tapestry was attached to my threads, so when the poor unfortunate prey approached the threads, they would act automatically, pulling him towards the wall and entangling him, capturing him quite effectively.

I'm pretty proud of myself if I'm honest, it took a lot of trial and error to get there, but I did it.

After making those traps, I decided to make some invisible threads inside my house.

This yarn is not sticky, and will break at the slightest touch. If left alone long enough, the natural flow of air will eventually break it before it is absorbed by the thread wallpaper.

I think I just managed to create those fine filaments by reaching level 5 of the yarn skill.

These serve to warn me when enemies are approaching. The end of the invisible threads is attached to me, so if someone touches them, I will know.

I developed this type of detection thread when I realized a major drawback, I can't look behind me.

I don't have spiderman's spider sense which seems silly to me considering I'm a spider so I can't detect imminent danger.

With these threads I can tell when someone is sneaking up on me.

I no longer have to look at my back every now and then.

The good thing about being cautious and lazy.

I'm hoping to use them remotely someday for when I have to go out and explore the outside of my house.

I don't want anyone to go near the egg if I can help it.

I also made sure to wrap the egg with a thread attached to one of my legs, so that I can get it out of the way of any attackers should anyone get past my defenses.

After creating all that, I was basically unemployed, so I started playing with my yarns until it went up to level 6.

Thanks to the new level, I was able to achieve the ability to create high quality yarns, similar to silk.

So, I produced some of those balls and put them on the ground.

Although all that production left me hungry.

I must have spent the sp without realizing it.

Well, let's not waste time, I have a new prey in my threads to eat.

One thing I noticed is that all the monsters around this area are usually poisonous, so my poison fangs don't kill them quickly.

It doesn't matter much though, once they are caught in my net, I can take my time killing them.

Thanks to this, my poison fangs went up to level 4 and my poison resistance to level 6.

I was also able to hunt a variety of monsters other than the frog, I hunted 3 elroe randanels (small dinosaur-shaped monsters that always move in trios, even in groups they are very weak monsters that base their hunting strategy on cornering their prey) a peckatot elroe (it is a chimera with parts of penguin, pelican and monkey) a basilisk elroe (Monster shaped like a small lizard that can petrify everything in its field of vision. It has gray scales and is more than 1 meter long) and a finjicote (bee monster).

I also encountered 2 more frogs.

Is this part of the labyrinth a frog's nest or what?

Nor have I seen any humans in that time that I have killed monsters.

The elroe randanels surprised me the first time I saw them, but as they were very weak, I managed to catch them easily and bite them.

The peckatot elroe is quite bizarre, so I was quite fascinated, with him so I took my time to hunt him, in order to study what he can do.

If a monster fascinated me, I didn't kill it very quickly.

The finjicote is a fairly large bee, big enough to fit in a 10-foot (or 3-meter) passage, although it was easy to capture because of that.

The most annoying was the basilisk.

From its name, I knew it had a form of petrification attack, a petrifying gaze worthy of a jellyfish, petrifying my left paw through my carelessness.

It was fascinating but annoying.

I was able to defeat him by running around him, until he was worn out and I used hypnosis to make him stay still and tie him up, and then proceeded to bite him and inject him with my poison.

I learned to use hypnosis in my encounter with the peckatot, as I wanted to test my theory to see if I could use it on an enemy, which was quite easy to do, I can use it in several ways but the easiest is to simply look it in the eye and use hypnosis.

I can also create a magic circle to use it but it takes a while to create it.

I didn't let the basilisk go near the egg.

Probably nothing would have happened to it because it was the dragon egg but I didn't want to risk it.

After that little encounter, I had to endure having my leg petrified until I could level up and shed my skin.

That basilisk was pretty dangerous, although I gained petrification resistance in the process, so it wasn't too bad.

Yes, as I was saying, I went up a level, 3 to be exact, now I was level 5.

So, if my skill count isn't wrong, I have: [Poison Fangs Lv4] [Spider Thread Lv6] [Appraisal Lv2] [Taboo Lv1] [Heretic Magic Lv1] [Poison Resistance Lv6] [Acid Resistance Lv2] [Rot Resistance Lv1] [Petrification Resistance Lv2] [Hypnosis Lv2] [Telepathy Lv3] [Gluttony Lv3] [Fire Magic Lv3] [Water Magic Lv1] [Ice Magic Lv1] [Electric Magic Lv1] [Wind Magic Lv1] [Ground Magic Lv1] [Heal Lv1] [Cure Lv1]

I went up 3 levels, but my skills didn't change much.

I bought the elemental magic when I asked the system to give them to me, I had obtained 500 skill points and each attack cost 60, so I still have 190 skill points left.

I also learned how to use telepathy during one of my fights and it was actually unconsciously, when I was fighting with the randanels, I wondered what he was thinking and before I knew it, I was hearing his thoughts.

And his thoughts were very primitive.

Mainly it was things like eating, hunting, scratch, etc.

It was weird.

Gula went up on its own, I guess because of how much I ate and the different species.

But the other skills did not go up much.

Heal and Cure didn't go up because I didn't use them, I haven't had fights that left me badly hurt.

I also tried eating a rock to see what it tasted like, it tasted like a tasteless candy, so I didn't like it.

I also tried to see if I could eat the magic and ended up getting my face wet, I didn't use fire magic because I didn't want to get burned.

Although I may use it sometime to generate fire resistance, but it will be when I practice it more and can control his density so as not to burn my house.

The system is quite cooperative with me, so I'm happy.

Another day, another day of being lazy in my cute little house.

The egg is still protected by my threads and I placed traps around it to make it difficult to reach.

The prey lately falls quite easily into my traps, I no longer have to risk so much in going out to hunt.

I also covered the floor with threads to make it softer.

I have also been practicing with the elemental magics, especially fire, since I want to test how hot I can make it, I have also practiced with the other magics.

Thanks to that, the fire one went up to level 3 and the others to 2.

I replenish my mana by eating rocks or my own thread, it tastes like spaghetti.

Seriously, I wonder if I have the title of gluttony or not.

And if I, have it, how the hell did I get it?

I was also thinking about my other 2 lives.

Like Rodrigo, I had a pretty normal life, I slept 8 hours, went to school, ate, played, slept, etc.

Like Wakaba, I would wake up early to walk to school (the pain!), get to school, have my normal classes, spend my alone time, come home, eat the food my parents gave me, play video games after do the homework and go to sleep when I got bored.

They were both good lives, at least for me.

I also wonder how my classmates are, I don't plan to save them from the elf that I forgot his name, because when I get out of the labyrinth, I won't be strong enough to look for them and keep them.

Do I care about them? A little. With most of them I had a kind of mutual respect, and I couldn't hate anyone.

In my life as a Rodrigo, I learned and was taught that hating someone was not good, that no matter how much someone hurt you, you didn't have to hate them.

I honestly didn't give a damn about my bullies, they were just kids in my opinion, so I just ignored them.

They were not worth my time.

I didn't care what other people thought either.

Their perspectives? What? Are they my parents or someone important enough to me to care?

Nope.

Only my mom's opinion of my life as Rodrigo could make me shudder at what she thought, my parents like Wakaba didn't care to much about me, other people were insignificant in my eyes.

Now, in this life, I feel quite free, with no major responsibilities other than keeping myself, and the egg, alive.

The canon? I don't care about the canon, I'll let things happen.

Things happen for a reason after all.

For now, I'm going to enjoy my stay at home for the time being.

My current standards of happiness are quite low actually, being alive and getting strong are what make me happy.

Although I also can't help but worry that anything could happen.

I mean, someone can always attack me unexpectedly when I least expect it.

Anything could happen, a group of humans coming to hunt me, a super strong monster falling into my traps.

Anything could happen.

So, the best I can do is prepare for the future.

That said, it doesn't mean it has to happen right now, you know universe.

The reason why I say that? The main entrance to my house is on fire.

I was just waking up when the fire suddenly entered to my house.

Slowly, my home was being consumed by flames.

I tried to put it out with water or even ice, but there was always more fire replacing the previous one.

And so it was that I remembered that, although my spider thread is quite strong, it is still as weak as I am to several things, one of them being is the fire.

Those responsible for the fire? Humans.

And it wasn't just a human with a torch, that was easy to deal with.

No, this time they had brought a wizard among them who could generate fire as well.

With 2 sources of fire attacking at the same time, it was almost impossible for me to defend my home.

And even more so when I remember that my mp is not infinite.

Damnit.

I quickly backed away before they could see me and tried to get the egg out as well.

But it seemed that their goal was not only to kill me, but also to target the egg, as they threw a fireball at the egg, doing nothing to it but effectively burning any threads attached to the egg that it had in it.

Double damnit.

The fire began to spread more as time went on.

If I stayed here, I would die.

So, to my chagrin, I had to turn around and run out my emergency exit.

As I cut my last net, the only one that stopped the passage through my emergency exit, I couldn't help but regret it.

That home was the work of my hard work, that home protected me for quite some time, it was practically my birth home.

And it was burned.

They also took my egg; they took something I wanted to consider my son.

This will not go unpunished human.

Pray that I don't run into them again.

Because if I do, I take no responsibility for what I might do to them.

1234

Although apparently, when the adventurers grabbed my egg, they also discovered the high-quality threads I had left behind.

The clothing made from that material was incredibly expensive.

They say that a king bought those clothes and it became a topic of discussion for a while.

As for the egg, it managed to survive after all and hatched after a while.

Of course, I don't find that out until much later.

And when I did, I simply regretted losing that egg even more.
