Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - That Simple?!
Reina woke up in the middle of the night with a sigh, she had been tossing and turning for hours now. The plan her sister had laid out for her to slip out of the city would happen later today, and she had kept quiet about the details the entire time, making sure that nothing leaked. Her thoughts wondered to shadow as she stroked the bracelet on her wrist, she had kept true to her word and hadn't taken it off since it was gifted to her. When she first put it on Shadow sounded almost panicked, and he hadn't spoken since she put it on. She could still feel him so she thought he was sulking at first, but now she wondered....
She slid the bracelet off
[Finally]
"Shadow?! where have you been?"
[Tucked into a small corner of your soul, that bracelet was quite persistent in keeping me there]
"Really? It looks like a normal bracelet to me, and I didn't feel any spiritual power when i put it on"
[That may be because you were too busy trying to find a hole to bury yourself in]
"...." Reina blushed recalling Fang's "enthusiasm"
[Anyways, the bracelet doesn't harm your nor I, it just forces me away. I've always made my presence small for your sake, but this makes me even smaller, keep it]
Reina fell into thought, the bracelet was obviously not just a badge to identify herself with Fang's people. Fang had obviously discerned her true nature, she would be blind to assume that the nature of the bracelet was just pure coincidence. Yet despite knowing that a daemon was bonded to her, Fang met her with overwhelming affection rather then a blade to the heart. Was she aiming to gain her trust for something else? It was impossible to tell, they had only been friends for 4 days....
'I'll just find out if I see her in Acacia' Reina thought, closing her eyes. meeting her now was too much for her, and she needed to have a clear mind and focus on getting out of the city.

Reina opened her eyes, staring at the ceiling as she felt her heartbeat quicken in excitement, the day she's dreamed of for so long was finally here. She got dressed in a rush and barged out the door, she didn't have the nerves to eat breakfast so she set off directly to her sister's location: The Sweet Daisy, the largest brothel in the city. The cult's main source of revenue were brothels, and Reina's sister at 20 years old had risen to the top of the pyramid when it came to the business side of the cult.
It had been months since Reina's seen her, ever since she told her about this day she refused to see her, throwing herself completely into preparation for this day. Reina walked inside the decadent building and headed upstairs, the route to the office was still ingrained in her mind as she took various turns in the silent building. Coming up to a large door, she threw it open in excitement to see the girl sitting at a desk look up in surprise. The girl had blonde hair, blue eyes, and was flashing a wide smile towards Reina, getting up and and rushing towards her for an embrace, her name was Annie Primrose, whom had spent the past 10 years constantly be her side, her sister in everything but blood.
"My My, about to be another year older yet you're still so short!" Annie looked down at the girl who's pouting face was perfectly propped up on her breasts.
"I-i still have one more day before i turn 16! there's still time for me to grow!"
"Hmmm, but I don't want you to grow, you're the perfect size for hugs, it's almost scary. Did you make a deal with a daemon under the table to accomplish this?"
"Annie!"
"Fine, I'll stop teasing you, but before the main event, here; Happy Birthday!" Annie handed Reina a small box, neatly wrapped with a bow on top. Reina received it happily and eagerly tore it open, "Annie, it's beautiful!" she said as she held out a tear-shaped sapphire earring, dangling from a bit of gold chain.
"That sapphire is special, it'll be able to hide your affinity for the dark from the academy. When you take the test, only your natural affinities will show up". Annie said as she put the earring on for her, smiling as it dangled freely. Outside of the dark element that everyone bonded to daemons gained an affinity towards, Reina also had affinities towards water and lightning.
"And for your 2nd gift, your big sister has spent these past months tirelessly working towards opening a branch inside Acacia city. The building itself is nearing completion, so we'll need to send staff and courtesans from this location to the new one. On the way there, your name will be Daisy: freshly hired face with dreams of becoming the most requested courtesan in Acacia City!"
Handing over a wig and the brothel's signature robes, she continued "Everyone is still getting ready to leave, so you still have time. The scheduled time of departure is noon!"
Reina held the robes in a daze ".... that's it?!"
"Yup, that's it. Don't tell me you were expecting some dramatic escape?"

TropicalPenguinn For some reason this took me forever to write, so while it is simple it still took a load off my mind. I kept getting distracted thinking about the events that happen after this, I'm pretty excited to start it.
