Chapter 2: Prelude to the End {Part - 2}

"Hahahaha! Finally, this monster has been destroyed in the end!"

The God of Death laughed with joy at the man's demise. It couldn't be helped; he had waited too long to destroy this man, rendering his title as the God of Death useless.

Just as he was about to speak again, three lights—blue, gold, and white—charged out of the explosion and flew off together at a speed faster than any of the gods could react.

"Is that...?"

"Yes, it is! And there are even three of them. This bastard's luck was too great. Quickly, chase them!"

All six of them immediately gave chase, but they soon realized they couldn't catch up at all, and the lights quickly disappeared from the void.

"Dang it! We missed such an opportunity," said one of them.

"Well, that should be expected. It was said that unless you are acknowledged by them, you wouldn't be able to hold them even if they were right in front of you."

"That's true. But with the unfathomable power they possess, do you think he will be able to revive?" asked another.

Everyone frowned at the thought.

"I don't think so," said the God of Death.

"We all witnessed him being annihilated by that power. I believe you all know that being struck by that lightning causes you to cease to exist and prevents reincarnation."

"That's true, but I can't help but feel uneasy."

-------------------------------

Meanwhile, the three lights stopped somewhere in the void, and a transparent figure appeared.

It was the same man who had been annihilated moments ago. He looked at the three lights, which were actually three diamond-shaped gems.

"It seems I will be starting my plan a bit sooner, but it doesn't matter because, in one fell swoop, I will rule the Grand Dao!"

The three gems began to grow brighter under his control, and eventually, he disappeared as a tiny palace appeared in his place. This tiny palace moved with a flash of light in a specific direction.

Just as it left, a figure instantly appeared in its previous location.

"Hehehe, he has really become much weaker, for sure. Even with the power of the space gem, I wouldn't have been able to sneak up on him."

With a wave of his hand, the figure disappeared in grey light as he chased after the Immortal Supreme.

Within a world filled with nature's beauty, a palace flew in and landed on the ground with a booming sound.

Afterward, the Immortal Supreme's soul appeared, and the palace disappeared.

He looked around and gazed in a specific direction for a while before summoning the three gems again.

Looking at them, he reminisced about his cultivation journey.

He had been born in a lower realm and had even been a slave there. He cultivated from the lowest level to the peak, slowly fighting his way through the lower realm and ascending to a middle realm.

In the middle realm, he had a fortuitous encounter, and that was when his rise truly began. He made many enemies in the process, but he surpassed them all to such an extent that they had to bow before him in the end.

After that, he rose to the upper realms and continued ascending to the peak. At this level of power, his greatest fortune was acquiring the three gems that he now possessed.

These gems were responsible for maintaining the balance of the universe. Anyone who possessed one of these gems and fully grasped its power could have full control over a specific aspect of reality.

And he had three of them!

There were nine gems in total, known as the Gems of the Multiverse, each covering an aspect of reality across the nine universes.

He had obtained the Gem of Time, the Gem of the Soul, and the Gem of Fate. Although they had acknowledged him, he had been unable to unleash even one percent of their power.

That was when he discovered the existence of multiple universes. There were nine universes in total, and each had its own set of nine gems.

However, the three gems he possessed were on a much grander scale. They encompassed not just one universe, but all nine, forming the Multiverse.

These gems held sway over aspects of reality across all nine universes. It was this very reason that he had survived the destruction caused by the Heavenly Dao of his own universe.

At that moment, a crazy idea began to form in his mind. He developed an ambition to not only gather all nine Multiversal gems but also to master the Grand Dao and reign supreme over all.

But what did it mean to master the Grand Dao?

It was an impossible task!

There were a total of 999,999 Dao paths, each intricate and profound. It was impossible for any individual to comprehend all of them due to the limitations of natural talent and comprehension. Even dedicating one's entire lifetime to a single Dao wouldn't guarantee mastery.

Only a select few could reach the pinnacle of a single Dao, and even then, it was only at the universal level. These beings were akin to gods, with lifetimes spanning millions of years, devoting themselves to comprehending and perfecting a single Dao.

Yet, the gems in his possession held Multiversal power. And so, a plan took shape within his mind—a plan to create clones of his soul, a total of 999,999, using the power of the Soul Gem. Each soul would be like a newborn, yet all would be him.

Using the combined power of the Fate Gem and the Gem of Time, he would bestow upon each soul the talent and predetermined fate to comprehend a specific Dao. Through the manipulation of time and space, he would send each soul to different timelines, where they could master their respective Dao in the shortest possible time.

Then, he would enter seclusion, patiently waiting for the day when all 999,999 souls would converge and fuse with him, merging their comprehensive knowledge of all Dao paths. It would be the moment when he truly mastered the Grand Dao itself, even the Heavenly Dao bowing before him.

A smile crept onto his face as he contemplated this idea. Without wasting any more time, he activated the power of the Soul Gem, and multiple tiny blue lights emanated from it.

These lights represented his cloned souls, a staggering total of 999,999.

Simultaneously, the Gem of Fate radiated a golden light that penetrated each soul, endowing them with unique talents and forging the threads of destiny that would eventually bring them together to merge with the Immortal Supreme.

"Now, for the final step..."

The Gem of Time shimmered, and in an instant, each soul was transported to a different timeline, where their journey to master their respective Dao would begin.

With the completion of his plan, the figure of the Immortal Supreme began to flicker, as if on the verge of disappearing. His form grew more transparent, evidence of the strain his soul had endured while using the power of the gems.

His cultivation had been destroyed, and now he needed time to recuperate and strategize for the future.

With a wave of his hand, the three gems vanished from sight.

"Now, I..."

*Boom!*
