Chapter 1: Ch1. Hero of Legends and Myths has been summoned!
The footsteps of someone approaching can be heard behind the door. They get louder and louder till the sound stops and gets replaced by hard knocking on the door.
"Are you Vari Lyiala? There is an urgent letter of invitation for you."
After handing in the letter, the man, who looks like an old butler, hastily departs and leaves me standing dumbfounded in the doorway.
After reading the letter, cold sweat started to pour down the back of Vari. She is to come to the palace of the king and be judged by the newly summoned hero whether she is to join his party.
If she is to refuse, or the hero decides to not take her, Vari will have to face death penalty.
Vari Lyiala is a mage who uses the dark arts that have been deemed blasphemy by the holy church. After she was discovered, she was sentenced to death, but due to her quick wit, managed to convince the jury to let her live till a hero is summoned and go on what most think a suicide mission.
Knowing that she will die if she does not seem fit to be as a comrade, Vari quickly goes to fix her dark and messy red hair and find her old magic robes.
"My sire, the witch has arrived."
Entering the grand hall, Vari notices about 40 mercenaries standing in line. On the opposite side stands a young man with black hair accompanied by 2 females. One is obviously an archer, while the other is a priestess.
'That is quite strange' she thinks to herself. Why would the hero pick them? The priestess I understand, but that archer looks quite weak compared to other archers. One can easily spot the legendary mercenary who is renowned to be the most accurate bowman, known as - Mair the Piercer.
'Did no one introduce Mair to the hero?'
"Fret not NPCs, I have chosen the last member of my hare-ehm party! That one that just came in, her face is cute, and her body is up to my standards, thou she could be a bit more gifted in the chest area ~huhihi~ at least the saintess is well endowed"
'Ah, so he is one of those guys..' Vari thinks to herself as she sighs in disappointment once she realizes the hero of the legend is a perverted and creepy looser.
