Chapter 57: 57.Learning to fly like a wizard
Harry used skill: observe on Penelope and found everything she said to be true. He used legilimency on her and found that she was determined to make him let her follow him. 'This is my opportunity to achieve my dreams, I'll not let it go.' was her thought.
"Penny I can help you achieve your dreams, you do not have to become my follower." Harry's words made her fall silent and think carefully. Harry waited for her answer for a few minutes.
"I have decided, I want to follow you." Penelope said with determination.
"Why?" Harry asked with a smile hearing her answer.
"Because I am not stupid. If I can achieve my dreams without even becoming your follower then what can I not achieve if I follow you." Penelope said rolling her eyes at him making Harry laugh out loud.
" Good.. Sign this contract and we will be done." Harry said giving her the contract, which she immediately signed without hesitation.
" Wait Harry. I think this is not enough. Let her take a loyalty oath to be extra sure." Daphne said.
" I have no problem with that." Penelope answered before Harry could say anything.
Harry shook his head and wrote the oath on a piece of paper. Penelope read the words allowed and completed the oath.
" Alright Harry, now tell me everything you weren't telling me earlier. " Penelope demanded. Hermione and Daphne also looked at him curiously.
"Percy's mom helped him brew a love potion that he was going to feed you. You became his target because of your background and grades." Harry told her in short.
Penelope stiffened hearing his words, her face lost all colours thinking about the consequences if his plan had succeeded.
"Alright. You can take your revenge now that you have me with you. Don't worry about him for now and work hard to become stronger." Harry said patting her shoulder.
Penelope enveloped him in a tight hug paying not heed to the gasp from the other two girls, " Thank you Harry.. Thank you sooo much.."
"Ahem.. Alright.. Harry got your gratitude Penny.. You can release him now.." Daphne and Hermione pulled Harry and Penny apart with a jealous face making Penny amused.
"How about you both share him with me.. You can be his wives and I can be his concubine." Penelope put both her hands on their shoulders and said teasingly making them blush in embarrassment.
"Alright Penny. Stop teasing them. You can ask Hermione and Daphne about our schedule." Harry said. Harry said as he gave her an enchanted quill.
"By the way Panny, can you get me a flying broom for an hour today?" Harry said remembering that they had Flying class the next day.
"Hmm. sure. but what do you want it for?"
"Well we have our first flying class tomorrow and I don't want my friends to make a fool of themselves in front of others. I will teach them some basics.." Penny nodded and promised to get him a broom for the whole day.
"Hermione, I need access permission for your vault. I'm trying to invent a potion and want to do some research for it." Harry said after Panny went to get him the broom. He asked directly because he knew there was no need to be shy or hesitate between them.
" Sure. Let me write a letter to Bogrod, tell Alfred to take it from me." Unsurprisingly, She immediately agreed and started writing the letter.
"Harry, I too want to sign that contact if it is okay with you." Daphne said suddenly. Harry could see that she was nervous so he assured her and let her also sign the contract with him.
Some might think that he is making a trade out of relationships, but he knew that in the magical world where changing face, controlling will, and reading memories is so easy, making oaths and contracts will instead reduce the possibility of any kind of doubts later.
"Here's your broom, It's a cleansweep. As I said you can return it to me tomorrow, just make sure you don't break it." Panny said handing the broom to Harry.
"By the way, have you even flown before?" She asked him.
" Nah. But don't worry, it won't be a problem for me." Harry said with confidence. Hermione was already shaking in her boots, apparently she was extremely afraid of heights.
" Well I'm not very good with it, but I can help you guys with the basics." Panny suggested to which Hermione nodded her head so fast that Harry felt it would fall off her shoulders.
Harry took the three of them to the training ground where they spent the next two hours learning how to fly using brooms. Actually Harry became an expert at it in only 5 minutes, the rest of the time they spent with Hermione, teaching her how to fly like a professional.
After returning Hermione and Daphne started practicing what Harry taught them in the morning. Seeing that he had some time and Panny had already decided to not attend any of the classes for that day, he started teaching her by first covering her basics then answering all her doubts.
In this way, by the time they had to go for dinner, Harry had already made her understand the whole first- second - third year's syllabus clearly except for the additional subjects.
"Wow Harry. You are an amazing teacher, you know that.. I mean seriously, you cleared all my doubts, made me understand basic to basic concepts so easily and in so little time."
" It wouldn't have been possible if you were not such a talented student, Panny. This is your OWL year and I want you to get the top grades in all of your subjects. I'll teach you the fourth year syllabus later as it will take a lot of time."
Harry didn't feel that he wasted his time teaching Penelope. after all He was able to complete his second and third year potion syllabus in that time.
