[Rei POV]
My Fourth birthday in the Shinobi world came and went. I still haven't decided what to do about the last six active genes. One reason is that I have too much in my hands already. I can delay the search for a bit, but I need to start immediately on the research for gene activation serum.
And even if do successfully create one, I will never be the first one to use it. I am not stupid enough to test it on myself directly, without even seeing results. I am a scientist, not a brute to do stuff first and then do the thinking part.
That is what is limiting my research, Test Subjects! For more accurate results, I need Uchiha test subjects. Also, there is a high chance the first ones to take it will not have good endings.
'There is a workaround though, I can take my own cells and try to grow them under controlled conditions. But the problem is the serum might not be accurate. But, it's good enough to start with that I guess,' I think.
'A. I chip, display my stats.'
[Name: Uchiha Rei. Strength: 5.6, Agility: 4.7, Vitality: 6.2, Spirit: 4.6, Chakra: 68, Bloodline: Uchiha (Two Tomoe), Status: Healthy.]
'Show my bloodline stats too,'
[Bloodline: Uchiha (Two tomoe), Active genes: 7(limit), Bloodline activation: 25.9259%]
'So, this day finally came ha?' I think as I see the limit next to active genes. This is something I have calibrated. If for consecutive seven days my Uchiha chakra has no effect on any of the Otsutsuki genes, then I tasked A. I chip to show that as the limit.
It actually stopped at seven. I was actually surprised a bit, I had initially expected the limit to be around three or four. I would have liked it if was nine though because nine is when the Sharingan turns three tomoe. But I am not one complaint, I get what I want.
I have already heard rumors about Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru battling Hanzo and them getting the title of the Sannins. Hizuren's probably spreading these rumors in Konoha and boost the morale while conveniently making his students famous so they can take up his mantle. But only the three of them, Hizuren and a couple more know that it was just Hanzo sparing them after thoroughly beating them up.
So, it should be the time when Jirayiya is teaching the Ame orphans.
'Couple of interesting events happen this year, let's see if I can get anything out of them,' I think.
Inside the Origin space.
I just concluded my taijutsu and ninjutsu practice, and I am proud to say I am dead tired. After a relaxing hot tub bath, I went to look at the gene extractor I had built a couple of months ago.
The first step in making the gene activation serum is obviously to get the ingredients, the active genes themselves. The problem is, these genes reside deep inside the cells. So, first I need a way to break the cell walls and extract the genes out.
It sounds complicated but actually, this is the easiest part of the whole process. The logic is simple, I mix a substance that can attract just the genes with the sample. Then all I have to do put them in a centrifuge and spin at high velocity.
The genes due to the attraction force break out of their cells and attach themselves to the added substance. Then the rest is handled by the centrifuge which can separate different fluids according to their densities.
Then it's just purification and voilà, we have quality extracted gene solution.
I reach the extractor that I have built. The hardest part was to identify a substance that could only attract the active gene. After months of trial and error, I finally found it. It was from a kind of stone, pretty cheap too actually. I have no idea why it attracts the active genes. Most of the delay on this was due to my low funds. I only have so much that Fugaku gives. And I have to include my living expenses in that too. It was so frustrating to not be able to get your money when you need it. Sometimes I badly curse him.
Anyway, I as look at the Twenty-one suspended test tubes with a clear solution, and the excitement I feel cannot be put into words.
The next step is a bit tricky. I need to find a way to either remove the inactive gene from my cell and replace it with an active one or I have to use the active genes as a catalyst and force my own genes to activate.
The second method is the most stable one, as even though these twenty-seven genes came from Indra Otsutsuki, it is impossible to say with perfect confidence that there won't be a difference between my genes and the active ones from others. However, the first method also has its own merits. For example, I don't have active genes from Hyuuga, Senju, or the Kaguya clans. So, I have to follow the first method if I want to introduce them in my own body.
After thinking for a long time about which path to take, I decided to test out each of them before choosing one to activate my Uchiha genes, but for others, I have to take the first option.
