Chapter 15: Chapter 14- Leaving

I am now 12. That means I have lived twelve years of another life.
My previous life I don't remember but this life I am going to spend doing whatever possible for me. I will explore my powers, myself and this world of mythology.
To do that I cannot continue staying here in camp where I will eventually stagnate. I want to experience as much as I can in this short lifespan of mortals the things I could not dream of doing before.
Who knows, maybe I will find a way to achieve immortality. Then I will explore the world at my leisure.
I have progressed immensely in my training both in camp and with Scathach, though I remain unclaimed.
Two years and a half back my Mist abilities returned and Chiron noticing my talent taught me what he knows about the Mist and how to manipulate it. It helped a lot and I didn't lose as much energy due to the increase in efficiency.
My proficiency in my breathing and moving method increased greatly and alongside the meditation I had superb control over my mind and body.
My physical parameters have vastly improved and I have completely broken past human limits in all attributes.
Ever since I broke my limits Scathach started teaching me magic or rather magcraft from her world. She said she will not teach me much, just the basics.
She taught me reinforcement, thought acceleration and memory partition.
Reinforcement was the easiest to get started on but also the hardest to improve. It is basically just pouring my energy into any object or thing to fill deficiencies and strengthen the object or thing. The purpose is of pushing a basis to the utmost limit.
Thought acceleration was difficult to start and also difficult to get used to. All this time I trained to get my mind and body under control to have it spiral out of it due to my quickened speed of thought.
It was a little tough but slowly I adjusted and got used to it.
Memory partition was the hardest to achieve and to learn. It is the ability to partition my thoughts to form multiple independent thought processes. While normal people can only have a single "room" in their brain and focus on one thought, partitioning adds partitions to the one room to create multiple rooms.
Alongside thought acceleration this gave me a big boost in my learning capabilities alongside my fighting abilities.
As the 'Od' of Scathach's old world and the energy present in my body had some differences it took a while for me to adjust but I was able to make 3 partitions all of which worked on different thought processes and my I am now able to do a full body reinforcement for the entirety of 2 hours without injuring myself or tiring.
I am proud of myself and Scatach is too as she said I exceeded her expectations.
After this she decided to teach me the advanced version of what Chiron was already teaching us and started teaching me the deadly martial art of ancient Greece, Pankration. This fighting style is very similar to the modern day MMA but much deadlier.
She also taught me Kalaripayattu, which is a an old martial art from India which focuses on defense and works to control the battlefield. It is in essence a discipline.
I also learnt taekwondo to increase my means of attack by using my legs more and also to pair it with bataireacht, an Irish stick martial art.
The one I had a little of fun learning is Ninjutsu, the art of a ninja. How to hide, how to blend in, shurikenjutsu, and others. This was fun for me just because of the novelty of being a ninja which quickly wore off when I realized the level of patience that is needed to wait for just the right time in an assassination.
When I had reached this level in magecraft and an acceptable level according to Scathach in my martail prowess I decided I need to start moving on.
While I would love to stay on in camp among friends, I just really don't think I can stay still here much longer.
Though not controlled by it, I still lust for battle and in the process I want to explore the mythological world which being stuck in camp is not going to help with.
I also want to meet with Percy and Sally on the slim chance I can find them. Sally had given her address but it has been years and they might have already moved.
To leave camp I knew I would have to go through a maze that is basically hell-bent on killing it's inhabitants unless the said inhabitant is a clear-sighted mortal.
As I am a demigod I come in the to kill category and thus I have to be very careful.
I did not want to use long distance shadow travels ever since I was so easily directed where to go without consent. Short distance shadow travel is just to convenient to give up in fights but otherwise I have not used shadow travel.
The shadow storage space is also something I just couldn't give up on without a spatial storage tool so Scathach did some Rune magic which I am yet to be good enough to learn.
So one night when the cleaning harpies were distracted I ran into the forest towards Zeus's Fist carrying with me in my shadow all necessary items which I have been saving for months.
I looked back in the direction of camp.
It was dark but a few fires were still alight and in the campfire I could see a girl sitting tending to the fire. She looked at me and waved.
My eyes widened but I quickly calmed down. this is likely to be the goddess of the hearth and home, Hestia. When I realized and affirmed she would not stop me I bowed and waved goodbye.
I pressed the Delta symbol on the doorway and the door opened leading into darkness. But it isn't scary for darkness is a friend. I took a deep breath nevertheless to reinforce my decision because it would likely take some time before I came back.
Then I walked into the embrace of the darkness.
