Chapter 1: Part 1: The Aftermath
The earth lays in waste and destruction after Darkseid has successfully defeated and killed most of the earth's heroes. The few remaining are scattered and broken. All hope is lost.
Superman/Raven
Superman arrivee on earth, his body injected with liquid Kryptonite rendering him powerless.
He arrived in Gotham City to hopefully find any heroes there but all he found was destruction and carnage the streets were covered with human flesh and organs. The smell of the rotting corpses is so insurmountable that it made him throw up. He saw bodies mutilated, torn apart and the city in utter ruins. He went to the bat cave only to find it destroyed and found Alfred's body cut in half, his innards hanging from his stomach. He was able to hold himself together just long to run out. He then went to the hall of justice to look for any survivors only to find those heroes that stayed to protect earth dead. Their bodies were ravaged beyond recognition. Clark can't hold it in any longer and broke down crying at the sight of everything he had witnessed.
He then went to the titan tower. Only to find more carnage, all the titans laid dead and motionless on the ground most of their bodies were missing, blood covered most it so much that even the surrounding water was a dark red color. Clark fell to his knees thinking he was the last of the heroes.
However just as he was about to leave he heard sobbing. At the edge of the beach he saw a girl crying. And realized that it was Raven. He rushed to her and as he got closer. He saw that Raven har a metal rod in her hands pointing toward her neck as she pulled it back and then forward towards her, he stopped her, grabbing it before she could kill herself.
Raven looked up to see who it was, and for a split second hoped that it was Damian who came back, but when she looked she saw it was Superman. His face brutally beaten eyes, nose and ears oozing with green Kryptonite. He had cuts all over his body dripping blood. His face unrecognizable if not for his suit. Raven after being saved by him realizes what she was about to do and disgusted with herself feeling so utterly heart broken and lost fell into Clark's arm and began to cry her eyes out.
All that time she was holding her emotions in but after watching her friends get killed in front of her and not be able to do anything about, watching the only man she ever loved walk out of her life when she most needed him. That all came crashing down at that very moment. Superman held her tight and allowed her to release all her feelings. After what seemed like hours of Raven crying eventually cried herself to sleep. Superman picked her up and took her to metropolis to look for Lois.
On the way there Raven explained everything that had happened. "When you left we were all sure that you would return victorious. Well, all of us except Damian, he felt that your plan was doomed since the beginning but kept quite. Come to see of it i guess he was right." says Raven with a sad but ironic tone.
"What happened" she asked with sadness.
Clark looked down at the ground then at his rugged hands "He knew our plan, he knew....everything. from the moment we arrived he was ready and we fell right in his trap. It was a lost cause almost immediately. Most of the members died within the hour only Shazam escaped. Everyone else either died or was taken prisoner. I don't know exactly but as for me well... Well I think you can see for yourself." He said with a knot in his throat.
He cleared his throat and wiped the small tears forming in his eyes and looked up "For now we need to find Lois and see what she knows she'll gives us a better understanding of the situation" he said with a lighter tone.
Superman/Lois
Instead of heading directly to his old apartment he went to a remote secret bunker under one of the buildings built by his friend Bruce. After arriving Clark open the door and found Lois crying in the bedroom. She looked up and saw Clark standing at the door. Without hesitation she ran towards falling into his arms putting all her weight on him and began to cry even more. And in her cries she said "Clark.....Clark.....where have you been." is all she could muster before her crying took over. Clark hugged her tightly and finally broke down crying as well.
After a few hours of reconciliation they meet Raven in the living room and discuss everything that had happened. Clark explained how he had lost his powers and how all the league members that went with him were either dead or imprisoned. He asked if any heroes were left here.
"Heroes? Only a select few Batwoman, Batgirl and Shazam however I don't know where they are now. But I should be able to contact them. However there is a large amount of villains left, they were able to hold out at a prison not far from here. We could try to recruit them." Lois explained.
"its not a bad idea" chimed in Raven.
After a long pause Superman said "This is our plan Lois you will head to the prison and slowly begin to gain their trust and eventually recruit them for our final push. In the mean time we need to figure out what exactly are those giant machine and their purpose along with how we going to destroy them. Also I need you to find and contact the remaining heroes and tell them that this fight is not over we will not give up. Tell them to position themselves near those machines and to begin to study them and figure out what they do and any weaknesses they have. Me and Raven will go on the search for John Constantine."
"JOHNS ALIVE?!?!?!?!?!?" both Raven and Lois exclaimed.
"How I thought everyone died." pushed Raven further.
"Yes I know but John ran away he teleported out when he saw things go south....I don't exactly know why." Clark said with a slight frown.
"I KNOW WHY BECAUSE HES A FUCKING COWARD AND A PIECE OF SHIT WHO ONLY CARES FOR HIMSELF" exploded Raven.
"Raven please..."
"NO, YOU KNOW HE IS. and now we have to find him so he can make him pay for running away!!!" Continued Raven enraged.
"Raven it's not like that we don't know why he ran. But what we do know is that he is only best and only hope to possibly defeat Darkseid" said Clark.
"Raven hes right without John we stand no chance he can help us" added Lois.
Raven sat their quietly her blood boiling at the thought of John joining them. "Fine" is all Raven could say.
"Then it's settled then" said Clark.
"Tomorrow we head out". As Clark and Lois went to their bedroom to have an intimate night.
They knew they probably wouldn't see each other for a long time. Lois seeing Clark beaten face hurt her soul but she knew that if anyone is able to handle it, its the man of steel. They held each other dearly and fell asleep.
Raven
Raven laid in her bed thinking of everything that had happened to her. Her friends death. The rest of the league dead as well. The world in complete ruins. However NONE of that compared to the sheer pain she felt as she saw Damian walk away after she refused to join him. She could see the utter devastion on Damians face when she told him that she would not be going with him. What hurts her the most was thinking that Damian felt she didn't love him. And leaving their relationship on a down note. She wanted nothing more than to be with him right now. But she knew she couldn't risk her father escaping and killing Damian. She would never risk that even if it meant, never seeing him again.....
The next day everyone woke up early and headed out. Before parting ways Lois and Clark shared one last moment together "Come back to me Smallville" she said.
"I always do" he replied with a smile they shared a kiss and said goodbye.
"Take care of him will ya, he's got a knack for getting himself in trouble" Lois said sarcastically to raven "will do, take care and see you soon" she answeredwith a rare smirk. And so they set off to complete their mission
