Chapter 113: I Met Superman

For the supergirl Kara Zor-El, who possessed a pure Kryptonian Heritage, ordinary lightning couldn't inflict serious harm on her. At most, it might just leave her appearance a bit disheveled.

For instance, it could cause her soft and beautiful blonde hair to frizz up like a hedgehog's quills.

Or perhaps, create some holes in her alluring blue uniform.

However, it was evident that the red lightning that struck her wasn't ordinary lightning.

After being hit by that inexplicable red lightning that appeared out of nowhere, Kara suffered the most severe injuries she had ever experienced.

If it weren't for her incredibly strong Kryptonian physiology, she might have been killed instantly by that red lightning.

The strange red lightning disregarded her formidable physique and inflicted unimaginable damage upon her.

However, for her, the injuries were not the worst part.

After being struck by the red lightning, she felt a sensation as if she were traversing a time-space wormhole.

Before she could comprehend what was happening, enveloped by the red lightning, she saw a building.

Then, like a shooting star, she crashed into the building.

What happened next was quite simple.

Upon realizing she had fallen onto an unfamiliar building, her first instinct was to leave immediately.

However, when she flew out of that building, she discovered even more bizarre things.

Although she mainly lived in Metropolis after coming to Earth, she knew that the United States had an international metropolis called New York.

Strictly speaking, it wasn't just that she knew; she had even visited New York a few times for sightseeing.

Flying out from the Stark Tower, she quickly spotted the Empire State Building in New York, knowing that the city she was currently in was indeed New York.

However, that wasn't the main point.

The main point was that she noticed something was different about the sun.

Although the sun in the sky appeared the same from the outside, for Kara, who grew stronger by absorbing sunlight, she quickly realized that the sun in the sky wasn't the same as the one she was accustomed to.

Realizing this, a term immediately popped into her mind.

Space-Time travel!

Just as she was puzzled about why she, who had been struck by the red lightning, would suddenly experience the bewildering phenomenon of time travel, she saw Tony flying out of the Stark Tower.

While she didn't recognize Tony, her female intuition told her that his rapidly approaching figure didn't bring good intentions.

To avoid causing further misunderstandings, she decided to shake off the pursuing red robot and then ponder the situation more slowly.

However, not long after, she noticed another white robot behind the red one that was chasing her.

These two robots, which seemed to be of the same series, decelerated briefly and then accelerated simultaneously.

Realizing this, Kara had no choice but to push herself to fly even faster, despite her injured state.

In just a few seconds, Kara's flight speed broke the sound barrier, transitioning from subsonic to supersonic.

Witnessing Kara break the sound barrier with her physical body alone, Tony, in his Mark 3 suit, couldn't help but gasp.

"Can a biological being really achieve such a feat?"

Tony asked Russell.

"Your perspective is limited! The limits of biological beings are far higher than you imagine!"

Russell replied with a smile.

Although he couldn't fly, enhanced by the serum, his running speed effortlessly surpassed the speed of sound.

What he could achieve, Kara, as a Kryptonian, should be able to achieve as well.

After all, Kara's cousin Superman was known for competing with the Flash in terms of speed.

While Kara's upper limit might not be as high as Superman's, it wouldn't be far off.

"The power of technology is also greater than you think!"

Tony retorted in disbelief.

Subsequently, he accelerated once again, breaking the sound barrier in the blink of an eye.

While the maximum flight speed of Mark 3 was only around Mach 2, chasing down Kara, who was clearly not in top condition, wasn't a problem.

However, Russell didn't want Tony to leave a bad first impression on Kara.

As Tony pushed Mark 3 to its maximum flight speed, Russell decisively pushed his battle armor's flight speed to the limit as well.

Mach 1, Mach 2, Mach 3...

With performance far superior to Mark 3, his battle armor easily surpassed Mach 3, effortlessly overtaking Tony and rapidly closing in on Kara.

Three kilometers, one kilometer, five hundred meters...

The distance between Russell and Kara rapidly diminished before their eyes.

In less than ten seconds, Russell, clad in his battle armor, arrived next to Kara.

Without hesitation, Russell manipulated his battle armor's left hand, projecting a hologram that aligned with Kara's reddening eyes, showing information.

"Don't be impulsive. I know Superman Clark and Batman Bruce!"

Upon seeing the information displayed on the blue and white hologram, Kara's eyes returned to their normal state from their reddened appearance. A puzzled expression appeared on her exquisitely beautiful face.

In the state of supersonic flight, Russell couldn't directly communicate with Kara via speakers, so he could only display information in this manner.

After Kara's lovely face displayed a puzzled expression, Russell showed new information on the hologram.

"I'm Russell. We can stop and talk. Perhaps I can answer some of your questions!"

Kara didn't immediately halt her supersonic flight but instead furrowed her brows.

Russell didn't rush her and maintained his flying position alongside her.

After flying for a dozen seconds or so, Kara finally began to decelerate, eventually hovering in mid-air.

Coordinating with her speed, Russell hovered in front of her.

When Kara stopped "escaping," Russell transformed his helmet into a low-profile form that revealed his true appearance.

Just as he revealed his strikingly handsome face, Kara's voice reached him.

"Do you know my cousin and Bruce?"

"If you're talking about your cousin Superman Clark, then I do know him."

Russell said slowly.

"How could you know them? They aren't even in this world!"

Kara's face was filled with caution.

"This is a question better answered by my girlfriend!"

"Your girlfriend?"

Kara's wariness intensified.

But soon, she saw a figure that would leave anyone, even a woman, dazzled.

Diana had arrived!

Upon seeing Diana clad in her battle armor, Kara couldn't help but widen her azure eyes, gazing at Diana in disbelief.

"Diana? Are you really Diana?"

Kara said with delight.

The next second, she made a move that neither Russell nor Diana had expected.

She leaped forward, like a little girl rushing into her mother's embrace, and hugged Diana tightly.
