Chapter 6: FIVE

Timmy Pov.

Hi Daddy

Thankfully, four years and eight months have passed since that incident. I have never seen her or heard from the strange number that day.

The number was off and from so many attempts of searching for any clue of the owner, there was no fruitful success. Me and my team had long forgotten about investigating the number. Especially that I did not want to talk about the contents of the message and the reasons for my investigation.

In these four years, I also tried to search for Nice and Lovely and any clues of finding her but it was like she never existed. Even the hotel manager and workers did not see her face clearly and on top of that they could not disclose anything about her. That day I discovered that I did manage to book for the hotel and I had to pay up. Thankfully, it was also great that they had recorded it to be a single booking.

There have been no clues even after four years that I have been checking even the nearest offices there. I haven't even felt any

Nothing also came up on the internet containing any threat or video or blackmails. The years passed blissfully and I continued with my influencer work. I had many tests run on me and I was clean from any STIs or even the scary one, HIV and AIDs. My fan base had grown but my bar and playboy scandals went to zero.

I had 6.7 million followers and over on all my social media accounts and I was the most wanted influencer by companies in Kenya to endorse their products. I had started a little career in acting too and currently I was waiting for the confirmation of my tickets to South Africa for the Netflix series shoot that I had been auditioned for.

I know what I might tell you next is crazy, but her scent still lingers in my mind and the memories of that night never left. This has troubled me many times. I asked my elder sister about it, she just answered with a tease, saying that I had lunged myself in troubled waters. I didn't know what she meant, but in my heart, I had the feeling that that day was not the last day of our meeting with Nice and Lovely.

I also had a vague feeling at the start of this year that we will be meeting soon!

I was looking forward to our second meeting. My birthday is coming this weekend and with the day sharing the International Father's Day, I was really looking forward to it.

There is a new cloth line coming up and I was lucky to be called by them to be one of the models to shoot their first set of clothes. Looking forward to the child and female model who will be by my side tomorrow. So, today, we went to the hotel and I hurried to my room not wanting to brunch at the bar. I didn't want a repeat of what happened. Who would have thought that the trouble I was running from was waiting for me to sleep and wake up?

Anyway, I was too cautious to find trouble these days. I am the typical good boy. I am in to keep that good boy streak for as long as I am single. My mother has been repeatedly praising me these days.

I fell on my bed with my clothes still on bothering not to take them off as I breathed in the downy scent of the white velvet duvet. It smelled of the Jasmine flower and its scent took me back to the night two years ago. Her Nice and Lovely lotion scent still lingered in my mind. I will definitely not forget that smell. It was unique only to her.

I did the advert last year for the Nice and Lovely milk lotion, but the actress did not have that unique scent on her. Even though on that day Nice and Lovely was crazy, angry and all threatening, I had grown now. I have been hitting the gym as I am a fitness Bodybuilding Influencer too and I know she can't threaten me now.

Maybe I was just in need of getting back to her, that's why I felt like we would meet. But, I surely wanted to see her reaction when she sees me now. Will she be surprised, smitten or fall for me?

If that happens, I will happily break her tiny fragile heart. I entered my lala land to dreamland after the little swerve off the memory lane.

Noises outside my room's door woke me up as I grunted and stretched my legs lazily. The sunlight peeking from behind the curtains clearly showed the start of the day and it had just started rising in the Eastern sky.

"What the hell is going on this early?" I asked under my yawn that escaped my mouth as I stood up from the bed.

I did not even cover myself yesterday, thankfully there were no mosquitoes here. Coming back to the noise, I was curious and mostly it was due to the banging knock that I heard from the door.

"Yo! Bro! Open up!" Dock, my camera man called out from the other side of the door, "Are you still in?" He asked.

I walked towards the door answering in a raspy voice, "Coming bro, am in, where could I go?" I asked a question of my own lazily.

Even before my hands could get to the lock handle, I heard a child's cute laugh outside my door. So, I asked, "Is that a child?"

"Open up bro you have to see this," came Dock's answer.

As soon as I opened my door, I almost bumped into a young girl, probably three to four years old, who was surprisingly holding a teddy bear on the one hand and a written postcard on the other. Having felt my presence, she turned to me and was the one who bumped on my knee.

"Hiiss!" I hissed as if I was the one in pain and looked down to her.

She was a strong one, she did not even cry. She had hit her head on my knee. Did she not get injured?

She raised her face to look at me waving the poster in front of her face. It read; HI DADDY!

I chuckled lazily not seeing it as something to highly consider. Especially with the impending family clothing shoot that was to be done, I did not look much into it. I squatted down to her level and put on the best of my smiles and said, "Uh!" It proved hard to start a conversation with her but I had put on my charming smile so I had to get on with it.

Dock kept tagging on my jacket's collar, probably trying to tell me something, but I couldn't be bothered.

"Sweetie, are you looking for your father? Or am I the daddy to shoot with you?" I started as if she would answer me which to my surprise she spoke or rather she called.

"Baba!" Her cute voice sounded as she lowered the poster card from her face.

I looked up to be met by the surrounding questionable looks of the few people who had gathered there before me. I was surprised by their questionable looks but not until I saw her face.

In Swahili we say, 'Wanafanama kama shilingi kwa ya pili' meaning they look so much alike as the same side of the coin.

That could be said for me and her. She was like the younger version of me but, surprisingly, a girl. She was my perfect replica.

I felt an incoming headache and like a light bulb in my brain, it hit me like a tsunami. Truly, mountains can't meet but people do.

There was no other possibility that came to my mind if not that fateful night. Was that the reason why she was all grumpy? She had gotten pregnant?

"hmm!" I chuckled weirdly and helplessly as I ran my fingers through my thick Afro hair locks. The questions, 'Did this happen that night? How did she end up here now and who brought her? How did she manage to hide her?' Clouded my mind.

I stood up dumbfounded and totally in lack of what to say. This girl was innocent. I tried to giraffe my neck to see even if I could catch a glimpse of the clothes of the one who had brought her but I guess I was too late. There was no one except for the judgmental looks of the crowd.

Probably they were seeing me as an inhuman who could leave this cute little girl out of the room in the cold as I slept comfortably in. I tucked my hands inside my hood's pockets and thanks for sleeping in my clothes yesterday, the many who didn't know me couldn't recognize me in my black attire.

"Okay, the scene is over, you can get back to your rooms and businesses now!" Njoroge shouted as he squeezed himself passing through the crowd with a bunch of hotel security behind him probably to disperse the crowd.

Njoroge was my manager and the one responsible for my security. By the grim expression plastered on his face, it was disappointment and a little happiness was on his face! That was surprising. Maybe for the little girl, I thought. Who would want to be angry at a cute innocent angel like her?

"Dock, get them inside!' Njoroge ordered.

He saw no reason for us being there and I was glad at least he did not question me in front of the crowd or even called my name. But this was already a scandal, I was afraid.

The girl hugged my knees tight and I couldn't move as Dock took the large travel bag that had accompanied her inside. I had no other choice from Dock's signing expression and wide eyes than to bend down and carry the little girl inside my room. Dock closed the door.
