Chapter 229: Nen and the True Longinus.

I hobbled out of a portal and into a lobby, as the last bits of my power armor crumbled to dust.

Shaking, I leaned on the wall, and spat out some blood into a nearby potted plant, wiping the blood from my eyes.

Overuse of geass. I had bled my eyes red.

Sniffling, I slowly slid down to the floor and groaned.

It had been weeks now. Weeks of constant fighting, running prepping.

I was tired, worn, stretched thin like butter on too much bread and on the brink of madness, having not slept a wink.

This body was not meant for this.

On the plus side, I had whittled down the worms number to a measly 124.

From the original almost 200 thousand.

Hehehehahahahahahhahahaha!

I cackled like a madman, before sucking in a cold breath of the sir conditioned air.

Haaaah!

"Sir, you can't be here. The 200th floor of the Heaven's Arena is only for the fighters who have qualified through the tournament.

You are not qualified for it. Please move to a lower floor. If you wish I can guide you to the mall on the 75th floor for.... refreshments." An attendant appeared, eyeing me suspiciously.

"Yes." I croaked, standing back up with a struggle.

"Yes, of course. Just one thing." I raised my hand, shooting a spell through her head, blowing it up.

I sighed again.

I can't go on like this.

I need to get this over with. Make a final stand.

And this was the first stop towards that.

Hunter X Hunter.

The Heaven's Arena 200th floor.

The easiest way to get nen.

As if alarmed by the sudden attack, the cameras beeped, and I could feel the guards enter the elevator in the floor below us.

I shook my head, freezing the elevator in place, as I stood up straight, and walked over to the participants lounges.

Using my geass, I found the right door, and kicked it open, stepping through just as a card shot past me.

"One more step and I will just have so much fun~" A creepy voice came from within.

Hisoka Morrow. The creepy pedo clown of Hunter X Hunter.

One of the best characters in the series.

And the fastest source to awaken my nen.

I smiled.

"Good. Let's make this quick. Proposition. You awaken my nen, I tell you something very interesting. Go." I replied.

"Uhuhuhuhu~" He giggled, "Uhn! I wonder what that is?"

"The secret of the spider's head. His power and one of it's abilities." I offered.

Hisoka's eyes narrowed as he shot out another card, hitting me straight in the throat as a mysterious power ravaged through me, sending me into shock.

"Definitely a manipulator." He added.

I fell to my knees, collapsing in a heap on the floor as the energy of the card fought my own, digging in and provoking my body like a virus.

And correspondingly, a force emerged within me like an immune response, my psychic power bolstering this new energy, born from my very life force, twisting through and seeping out like a drip tap from my code.

I felt my pores open, not the sweaty ones.

No. It was like growing a whole new set of pores, aura nodes, opening up, as if popping out of nowhere and I took in a breath of fresh air that tasted almost divine.

Hwaah!

A cold sensation prickled my skin like a breeze on a hot summer day and I could feel this new power coating me, no... it had always been there, like a cloak. I just hadn't been aware of it.

At least that's what it felt like.

Natural as breathing.

Most people would have died from this or at least become crippled. Nen wasn't meant to be gained this way. But one of the benefits of having immortality is the ability to regenerate from brutal after effects of rushed power ups.

My eyes shot open and I looked up at the clownish man, giving him a nod of acknowledgement.

But just as I opened my mouth to fulfill my end of the deal he raised a hand, shaking his head, letting out his signature cackle.

"No need. If I know beforehand, it will spoil the fun~" He licked his lips, "And I want to relish every last bit of him!"

I shrigged, pulling out the card from my throat, taking control of my new power as my wound healed up at a pace visible to the naked eye.

"Oho~ You are interesting-"

I opened a series of portals inside the room before he could finish, splitting him in eight pieces, killing him instantly.

I could hear the door to the emergency stairs open up and I opened up a portal to my next destination, just in time.

"Well, thanks anyways." I grinned, disappearing into the portal, while another portal sliced through the guards, killing them too.

On to the next world.

.

The situation was looking hopeless, Akeno was down, and he himself could feel his sacred gear almost spent.

On the other hand, the Hero faction bastards weren't even sweating.

"It was fun, Red Dragon Emperor. But it's time...." Cao Cao said, raising his spear with a mocking smile.

Issei could feel his inner dragon rage at the disrespect, but he couldn't bring himself to move.

He was no match for Cao Cao.

He knew it. Just admitting it.....

He could feel the frustration, tears welling up in his eyes.

Why am I so weak? Why can't I-

Just then, a green glow buffeted his vision, and tore through Cao Cao, splitting him in two at his nose.

Issei watched in awe as the horror stricken eyes slid off his head, and a man in a tattered labcoat plopped out of the glow.....the portal as he now recognized it.

With a smooth move he grabbed the spear, the True Longinus, and looked across the battlefield at the stunned onlookers and smirked, as another portal opened up below him.

"Oppai dragon....how pathetic. A waste of sacred gear. Wish I had time to strip it off you but ... clock's ticking." The man muttered, sinking into the portal.

"Wait-" was all Issei could choke out, his hand reach out towards the figure to no avail, as he disappeared, the portal blipping out of existence.

.

I dropped out of the portal into a soaked rice paddy, attracting the curiousity of the farmers working it.

"Where did you come from?" An older gent asked, confused, unable to wrap his head around what he had seen.

"Nowhere important, buddy." I waved away his concerns with a serene smile, while channeling my nen into the water to check my nen nature.

Slowly, as if an invisible hand was churning them, the rice paddy began to swirl around me, stalks like boat in a whirlpool.

So a manipulator indeed. Just as Hisoka predicted.

Good enough for now.

I can always become a specialist later on.

"That rice...that spear..." The farmer gasped looking down at the swirling rice paddy, before he fell to his knees in the water, "Are you ... Is your holiness a god?" He asked with a hint of awe.

"Um...yes. I am a god. Say, do you know of any other gods around here?"

"Yes, your holiness." The farmer bowed.

"Are you here to see the goddess too?" The man asked.

I nodded.

"Where can I find her?"

"Kisshoten-sama resides in the shrine up the hill." He answered, "Allow this unworthy one to guide you to her."

"No need. But you might need to leave the village as soon as possible." I gathered nen on my feet, shooting off across the water, spear in hand, racing to the top.

In the distance, the sky seemed to churn and bubble, the clouds were turning darker and darker.

Crackathoom!

A clap of thunder.

I jumped up into the air, concentrating nen on my eyes.

Gyo, the technique was called if I remember right.

Lightning struck a field at the edge of the village.

The clouds turned darker now and began to move with purpose, straight towards the shrine, the edges of the cloud cover bow beginning to glitch in and out of existence.

Yup. That's it.

My target here.

It's the Darkness.

The anti-existence.

A corrective measure of the world, a program of sorts that destroys anything supernatural deviates from it's true nature.

A god of good things turning evil.

A mountain spirit residing in a river.

A ghost refusing to move on.

Or in this case, a vampire playing the role of the god of harvests.

Incidentally, it also made a great conceptual weapons against worms.

At least I think it should.

My geass certainly thinks so.

The spear, the True Longinus shook in my hand, protesting my ownership of it.

Dammit!

Spoiled brat!

I pushed my nen into it, developing my hatsu at the same time as the nen spread out inside the spear and seeping out of it, forming a chain made of nen, enslaving it by force.

My hatsu, a hastily put together one was based on the reality anchor.

It suppressed the supernatural property of any object it chained.

But the reason it was strong enough to hold back the True longinus was because of the limitations I put on it.

The chain and lock could not be used on humans and humanoid species.

It could only be used on one target at a time.

And it could only be used twice a day.

It cannot damage anything and remains incorporeal, i.e., it cannot hold things back like an actual chain.

If I trapped a golem with it, it would stop being a golem but someone else could still pick it up and take it away from me.

In that, the chain was more like a nen curse rather than an actual materialized chain, the kind that Kurapika uses.

With it's power suppressed it became weak, and fragile like a regular spear in my hand and it knew it, it's ribbons drooping down in lethargy.

"Now listen here you little shit. I will say this once and only once. You WILL behave. You WILL acquiesce to my will. To what I want. Or I will break you like a twig and throw you into the void, never to be found again.

Got it?"

The spear tried contesting my sovereignty over it, only for me to slam it against a rock by the side of the road with such force it strained at the shaft.

"You were saying?"

It vibrated again, lower this time and I slammed it right back on the rock, over and over and over.

Finally, it hummed in a low, defeated tone, betraying a sense of injustice almost as if it were crying and I smiled satisfied.

"There we go. Was that so hard?"

It whined, it's ribbons limply waving in the wind.

I had thoroughly crushed it's pride as a divine instrument.

"Yeah. Wouldn't have hurt that much if you had just given in.

It gave a low hum of agreement, gesturing with it's ribbons at the nen chains.

"Want me to unlock your true power? Will you behave?" I asked.

It prostrated it's ribbins on the ground, buzzing with subservience.

"Good. And don't force me to put you under again or else ..." I threatened, raised it in the air, held above a rock and it shrink back in fear.

Heh!

I snorted in laughter, undoing the chains on it, and made one last jump into the air, heading straight for the shrine just ahead on me.

I landed in the temple, the stone tiles cracking under my feet, and whistled, catching the residents' attention.

A samurai stepped out of the temple, hitching his unreasonably long swords onto his hip, as he looked me over with suspicion.

A woman with a full figure and hair of glittering gold sat on the roof, her flowing red dress fluttering in the wind as she turned her head to me, tilting it curiously.

"Hey there!" I waved in greeting, "It's nice to meet you, Kiss Shot Acerola Orion Heart Under Blade."
