Chapter 151: Ulysses Klaue.

I returned back to the ship after testing out my new powers to the surprise of Star.

He jumped onto my shoulders giving me a hug.

"Papa! You became bigger!" He laughed.

"Yes, Papa became bigger just like you're becoming bigger, Star!" I smield and tickled him causing to burst into peals of laughter.

"Now come, let's go get something to eat." I said, bringing him to the dining room.

Riley was already there, having been informed earlier.

"Good morning Riley!" I smiled, placing the breakfast in front if her.

She only answer with an annoyed grunt.

"Rough night huh?" I asked.

She looked up at me groggily and sagged her head.

"I tried keeping up the operation room all night....but I accidentally teleported into the rafters. It's hard...." She groaned.

"That's okay. Devil fruits aren't mastered in a day. You'll learn to use the Ope Ope no Mi slowly. No need to hurry. Focus on your experiments first." I smiled, grabbing her hand, stopping her from shoving a bacon strip up her nose, "Or in this case, on the breakfast. Come here. Let me feed you." I said.

I took a seat at the head of the table, and telekinetically lifted her up, chair and all, bringing her to my side.

I picked up a bacon strip and brought it to her mouth.

"Say aah!" I poked her.

"I can eat on my own, Papa!" She snarled, snatching the strip from my hands before cutely muching on it.

I ruffled her hair, patting her head.

"You don't have to rush to grow up so fast, Riley. It's okay to enjoy your childhood, even if it's a little late." I told her, warmly.

"I know, Papa. I....I just want to be useful." She sighed.

"You are useful. You helped so many people this week. Remember?"

She nodded.

"But Star is so...strong. He cleared the entire city on his own. And I..." She muttered.

"Riley, Star is a little... special. You know how he looks eight years old even though he's barely four?"

She nodded again.

"That's because I fed him the power of two gods when he was just a baby. He's basically a baby god. So he can do a lot more than you or me with raw power. That doesn't mean I am not worth the time, does it?" I asked.

"I didn't say it like that! You are obviously...." She pouted.

"But you meant it like that." I smiled, and pinched her cheeks.

"Umu!" She intoned.

"Riley, you are not in the Nine anymore. I won't throw you away because you're not strong like Star. So take it easy. And rest properly. You are special, just the way you are." I assured her.

"Uhun!" She nodded, sporting a short smile.

"And go to sleep after eating, okay? Proper rest is necessary for growing children!" I ordered.

"Okay Papa." She replied.

"Good. And if you're a good girl, I'll make you a weapon of your own, so you can be strong like Star too."

"Really?!" Riley perked up, her weary eyes shining with glee.

"Yup." I said, wiping her mouth, "But only if you take care of yourself."

She smiled and nodded like a machinegun.

"I will I will I will!" She replied.

"Alright. Now finish your breakfast and go rest. When you wake up I'll have a present for you.

.

Finishing breakfast, I sent Star to his lessons and Riley to sleep, before returning to the deck.

I pulled up a holoscreen and checked the time.

10:12 am.

A bit later than I hoped.

But then again, time flies when you're having fun testing out your powers.

I didn't even realize where four hours flew by.

I smiled.

Yup. New powers are definitely fun.

But I have other things on today's agenda.

Meeting the Avengers for one. I need to set the timeline right. And for that Shield needs to have the Mind Stone stolen from them.

Of course, this was to my benefit as well. It would net me a superpowered Wanda Maximoff in the future.

Sure, I could recruit her now and indoctrinate her, but to twist her nature I will need her to grow as a person first and make that fatal mistake of working with HYDRA and losing her brother.

To break her so I can pick up the pieces and forge her anew to my taste.

And for that, I can't be seen by her as the one who experimented on her.

No. That burden has to be borne by HYDRA.

Even though I do plan to experiment on her too.

Or maybe..... didn't she hate Stark? Maybe I should use my current opposition of Stark to lure her in.

It would after all be better for me to have her trained and educated for longer, giving me more time to turn her to my side of things.

Ugh ... I'm conflicted over this.

I sighed. I guess I'll let things happen as they did in the original movies.

I have already laid down the seeds of doubt against Stark and the Avengers in the minds of the people. If nothing else works, I can once again use that as a precedent and lure her to my side anyways after Ultron ravaging her homeland.

Yup. That's settled then. I can't be fucked to deal with another two people around here for a while.

"Alright then. Let's do it.

First stop...." I checked my contacts for a location.

"Off the coast of South Africa."

I jumped into a portal and slammed onto the deck of a ship.

The Churchill.

Immediately, gunmen stationed around went into alert and raise their guns at me.

I smiled and wagged my finger.

"I would advise against that."

"Kill the fool." A man who looked like their leader pointed at me.

"Poor choice!" I replied.

The deck caved in where I was standing just moments before, and I disappeared.

"Where do he-"

I appeared behind the leader and brought my hands together in a clap on his head.

The leader's head exploded with the thunderous boom of my clap, fragments of his skull and brainmatter turning into shrapnel, splashing across the deck while the others watched in horror.

"Now do you still want to fight? Do you want to follow in your leader's footsteps?" I asked with a genial smile.

The men shook with fear and one by one dropped their weapons.

"Good choice." I nodded in approval, and the door to the lower deck opened up with a creak.

A man in overalls with a scraggly beard and unkempt hair walked out, scratching his chin as he took a bite of a sandwich.

"Ulysses Klaue."

"I won't ask how you know me-" He said, waving his hand and squared up to me, short as he was.

"But you wanted my attention. You have it."

He said, with his signature accent, arms spread eagle, when he saw my face a bit more clearly, and his eyes flashed wide for the briefest moment in recognition.

"I wonder what the traveler from another world could want from me, but if you were willing to sell some of your wea-"

I raised a hand, silencing him, shaking my head.

He got the message and didn't push.

I continued.

"Your attention? No. Your vibranium though? Very much so." I replied.

"For a price, of course." I added, pointing a finger at his pants pocket.

His phone beeped and message after message popped in.

He pulled out his phone and checked his messages, his eyes almost bulging out at the numbers.

"Hundred, thousand...b-billion? 3 billion? Dollars!" He cried out in surprise his eyebrows perking up.

"Adequate compensation?" I asked.

"Very much so. Yes. Come."

He said, jumping at the opportunity and walked me in.

"There's more where that came from, if you can procure more vibranium for me." I told him, as I completed the transaction, and he nodded, a greedy smile on his face, rubbing his hands together.

Minutes later, I portaled out of his little junkyard with enough vibranium to make Riley's new toy and do a little research on the side.

Enough for now.

Why did I go to Klaue instead of just stealing the entire Wakandan reserve?

I did want the purple heart herb too.

One word.

Bast.

The patron goddess of Wakanda.

I could sense faint signs of divinity from their purple heart herb garden. And that was just with tertiary scans of the country.

From Kang's notes I could tell that while Bast was no longer arpund, whatever that meant, her divine influence, her blessings were still active. And given his persuasion, Kang hadn't exactly been clear in his notes on whether that meant that it could kill me or not.

And with that ambiguity ....

No way was I barging in on them unannounced like this with that minefield laid out there.

I could get soul killed!

No. Not until I have perfected my Project Phoenix and mastered soul science.

Another thing I need to get. Another short trip. One to the world of Bleach.

But that was for the future, when I have someone that can help me astral project. Wanda, ideally. Or if I can get my hands on a Spirit Exchanger Gate, with my human body.

That was the only way to get into soul society after all!

Sure, Star could get in there easy, because he was a god. But he was nowhere smart enough to steal soul tech and get it to me.

So here we are. Dealing with Klaue to get my hands on Vibranium.

Because I refuse to risk death for a measly little metal.

For now, let's focus on the important stuff.

Meeting the Avengers again and setting the timeline right!
