A world full of incomprehensible danger, many of its people were making plots that are invisible unless you look well into the dark side of these individuals who are seeking power. Many of the people of the earth suffer from these kinds of plots. The power corrupts, and its entirety will serve as the fuel to destroy the whole world in which these people are living. Donna Tartt, a famous writer, said that sometimes we want what we want even if we know it's going to kill us.
We are living in this world to do something that we like doing, and everyone ought to do this, it is second nature to living beings. The list of these things may be endless, but power and pleasure come first from these lists. Despite all the struggles of all the righteous people out there, they corrected and made a lot of individuals to understand how beautiful it is to live a peaceful life.
Understanding and knowing are different; it is like water and oil that cannot be put together. Yet, knowing and understanding cannot stop those who have inborn wickedness to have the power they want. Humanity always seeks power, and there'll always be who seeks it to the point of leading everyone to destruction.

Michaelis was thirty-five and long since convinced that he only needs one person in his life to care about even if no one understands him; he will be there for her always.
Not that he only cares for one person, but he is designed to be that way, he never questions those who made him this way. Michaelis is still glad that he can feel his remaining emotion, which he considers as a treasure. Despite all the cognizance he has, he is designed to use it to protect the powerful family. Although he did came from that family, he is ostracized from a very young age, and always call him a weapon of destruction.
From a very young age, Michaelis is considered as a one of a kind genius that appeared to the family of magicians; he understood advanced physics and mathematics at one glance. Thus, the family decided to train and harness his powers at an early age. Until such time that they discovered he has so much potential in using magic to the point that no one can match him despite that he is still a child.
He rarely talks to someone his age because of the harsh training that he needs to do. Combat and magic training, aside from training, his mind is harnessed as well just for the convenience of the family, understanding that he is a genius and they should put it to use. It is the whole entirety of his childhood. He developed a lot of magic theory and discovered a lot of amazing inventions that can help humanity to prosper.
The only thing that sometimes troubles his mind is why was his mind is designed to be a living weapon instead of having a normal life that everyone has. He discovered that he was experimented in his childhood to seal his emotions that can disrupt and might be the cause of everyone's destruction. He knew all these, but he is just like a machine that does not care for himself, he only cares for one person. Protecting the heiress of the most powerful magician family of the world is his job although the heiress is his second cousin, he is still treated as a bodyguard; nonetheless not any treatment affected him and his job. Protecting the most precious to him is the best reward he can get. It would be so weird that the protector of a powerful heiress is a child, but it is just a beautiful deceit for those who have an ill intention.
Many people envy the power of the family, yet they didn't know that power is steadily declining because of low birthrates over the years. Powerful magicians are having a hard time conceiving a child because of the nature of magic, which the powerful you are, the less human you are. The family does not accept marriage from outside to preserve the bloodline. They continue to have consanguineous marriage inside the family, because of the advance of the civilization, there are a lot of scientific inventions that can prevent complications to the child of these marriages.
Getting to where they are now, the family is still troubled by the people who are targetting them. Even though they have the most powerful weapon on their side, the pillars of the family are still afraid. Numerous nations are coalescing just waiting to attack the family and have their famous blood to be studied and experimented. There are several kidnapping attempts with the family members already; that's why they isolated themselves to an artificial archipelago they created.
The pillars of the family persuaded the heiress to order Michaelis to take an aggressive stance on what was happening. Yet, the heiress truly loves Michaelis as much as he loves her, so she refused and told them that unless they set foot on where they are now, Michaelis will not take action.
They had never told the Mistress of the family about the worsening situation, for it might affect the condition of the Mistress. They did not know that the Mistress already knew it for over a generation, the nations who are vying for their blood will act on the upcoming future. Yet the Mistress did not take any action because it might be the cause of their family's demise. To know the waning power of the whole family is a disheartening part of being a leader; however, in every darkest time, there will be a light that will lead to everyone's salvation.
A genuinely unprecedented miracle that happens to the family, a child was born on the branch family of the heir. The child has shown an unparalleled talent that you cannot see in this world. The child became the hope of the family, and the Mistress decided to remove the emotion of the child because it may be the trigger that can destroy the world, but she made an exception, she made it possible for the child to feel love and hatred to both her and her child. To experience love and to hate those who harm her and her child.
Indeed a smart move for the previous generation magicians from the family who experimented on Michaelis that is designed to obey the Mistress and the next mistress only. The current Mistress is already on deathbed because of old age, the meticulous plan she devised all those years ago to prevent Michaelis from going to the wrong hands. She is the one who instigated to seal the emotion of Michaelis and obey her and her daughter only.
Instead of being called the bodyguard of the family, Michaelis is only loyal to the Heiress and the Mistress. The protector of the leaders of the family. Michaelis regarded the mistress as his mother because he is the way he is because of her. At an early age, she is the one who taught him everything. Slowly but surely, time is taking his mother away, and he can't do something about it. He tried to reverse the effect of ageing using his magic, but to no avail, he didn't give up and still finding a way on how to de-age someone.
As the days went by, the Mistress passes away, and she told Michaelis to marry her daughter and protect the family from the rest of the world. Knowing what will happen to the family in the upcoming future, the Mistress ordered Michaelis before her last breath. The time is so cruel, and no one can control it despite all the years of research about the process of de-ageing, Michaelis didn't have all the time he needs. Even for Michaelis, it is tough to invent something that can defy the essence of a human being. Although he has magic that uses time as a structure, yet it is not like time travel that he can undo everything.
He failed to make the de-ageing magic, but he will not stop searching even if it will take a lot of time. For eventually, he and the new Mistress will get old; that's why he needs to find the prevention for that.
Time slowly passes by; Michaelis spent his daily life accompanying his wife and researching on how to apply his magic on the process of de-ageing someone effectively. The days are rough for the family because of the threat from the nations that are targeting them. The last order of the late Mistress bemused them to their core. They are told to let Michaelis and the heiress marry. No one objected to the decision of the late Mistress, the pillars and the members of the family just gave their blessings and approval.
Even though a lot of family members are reluctant to marry their leader to a bodyguard, they didn't voice it out because they are afraid to disobey the last will of the late Mistress.
The wedding was grand, and the celebration lasted for three days, Michaelis is so happy beyond compare since he always dreamt of a moment where he can be with the heiress not just by being a guard but a husband. It still pained him, remembering that the heiress will be betrothed to somebody other than himself. Albeit he is thinking to that point, his situation reminded him always that he's just a bodyguard waiting for an order. He didn't know that the heiress feels the same about him.
The dream came true, and he was happy. They spent their time happily on one of the artificial archipelagoes. Michaelis found a way to de-age a person, and it took him ten years to reach this point. Using his time magic, he can prevent a person from experiencing a decaying of cells of their body. After a lot process of studying, Michaelis thought of applying his time magic to the human body which is to prevent the DNA from oxidizing, a minute of his magic will surround the body of that person and will locate the accumulated damages to the cells of the body and freeze through time magic. It is really hard to insert a magic own's magic to another body because it will harm the receiver if not done accordingly. You need to read the person's biological makeup within a few seconds via magic and insert the magic within a second to avoid the backlash from the person's protective mechanism. This feat can only be achieved by Michaelis exclusively because he developed an ability where he can read the composition of magic that is used within a few seconds and adding the time magic he has.
He applied the magic to his wife, and he does not need to do it to himself because, as the holder of the time magic, it has always been active since the day he learned how to apply the de-ageing magic. As long as he is alive, the de-ageing magic will not disappear on his wife's body unless he wishes to undo it.
Every day, Michaelis spends his time caring for his wife. Cooking, housework, and listening to his wife sing, this is how he is nowadays. Sometimes he and his wife will go sailing with their yacht, relaxing and staring at the skies, silently enjoying the company of each other.
Surrounded by blue seas with your loved one is a distant feeling to him all those years ago. He only dreamt about all of this, but right now, he is living through it. He wishes that this moment will last forever.
They spend the remaining afternoon staring at the skies. Michaelis moves to face his wife, enjoying the fragrant smell of her and staring at her.
Luella stared at him in the eyes. "I really loved you from the day you started protecting me. I don't know why I tried to hide it all these years. I love you."
Her green eyes and beautiful face adding the wavy blond hair captivated Michaelis to no end. He is staring at the most beautiful person in this world. Smiling while facing Luella, he moves his right hand and holds the face of Luella while feeling it through his thumb. "We will be journeying the future together, so we have a lot of time to fill our time with happy memories, and I love you so much."
Luella stared at him while smiling. "I know."
He smiled once again, and he advanced his face moving to kiss her, which she gladly accepts.
Because of this moment, it felt like a second is like an eternity to them. Like a magical illusion that captured both of them right now where they cannot think of something else, where the time stops, it almost felt like they are the center of the whole world.

After the long years of researching through magic, a lot of resources are spent to discover where it came. To know where it came from or how did the magic assimilate on earth. The studies are still fruitless regardless of the effort of the nations to realize all their dreams. To advance and make humanity a traveller of the universe, the government didn't spare any available riches that can increase the chance of discovering an approach to do interstellar travel.
The powerful nations are having a hard time dealing with the shortage of land due to the fluctuating population. Little by little, the earth will become a small world to inhabit all the humans that will be born in the future. So the powerful nations are finding solutions to discover an inhabitable planet. Despite the inventions of artificial islands and archipelagoes, the Nations are pressed against time, for it is just a temporary solution. One of the biggest problems in making an artificial Inhabitat is it is costly, and it took a lot of years to create one.
The researchers are the ones who made the theories of interstellar travel. All they believe that humanity can realize it by advancing the understanding of magic.
One day a researcher went to a morgue to retrieve a cadaver, the corpse is in the morgue for almost a week, and no one claimed it as a deceased relative. The body had a deep wound on its neck, probably a stab wound, and those skilled assassins most likely did it.
Not all humans are magicians, basing on the statistics of the World Information Organization, just the quart of earth's populace can use magic. One of the traits of a magician is they can see the dominant aura or what they call mana from a person's body.
All the researchers are searching for the essence of magic. One of the best ways to discover and increase the chances to succeed in their goals is to explore how magic works on the human body. The downside is if the body dies, the essence of magic within the body will disappear as well.
A great informant delivered the news to one of the researchers that he had discovered a corpse that has still mana emanating from it. It is a significant discovery because there is still no discovery about a dead body that has mana.
They didn't know that it is the body of a member of the most powerful magician family in the world; they are called the UNREACHABLES.
The Unreachables found out that the corpse is one of their kin through the spies they have assigned. The family didn't know how the member died, but they are doing an investigation. All the family members are skilled, and they are proficient in combat and assassinations. They assume that it is the doing of the powerful assassin organization. The question is who is the one who paid a considerable amount of money to kill one of their members.
The Unreachable contacted the nation that discovered that corpse and advised them to return it as soon as possible.
Once the nations knew that the corpse is a family member of the Unreachables, they didn't have any second thought of giving it back to them. It is a wrong decision to do a direct provocation to the family. It would invite a calamity since the Unreachables always care to a family member deeply.
They are called the Unreachables for no reason, a family of magicians. The family line started in the late 1900s when the reign of magic started. The leader of the family that time is the most influential and strongest magician that the world can offer. It is like the heavens blessed the family; every child that is born in the family always has an immense amount of mana matching to that of an adult magician.
In later years the family helped the world by providing magic inventions that can ease the life of the people. It is easy for the family to make a breakthrough in the science of magic because they understood magic very well.
Living a peaceful life, the family is very cooperative in developing and improving human life. But, some people sought power above anything else, and they assumed that the key to achieving that is the Unreachables. That's why they hunted every member of the family and experimented with them.
The leader of the family at that time brought the remaining family members to an isolated island. He won't let those greedy bastards to achieve what they want. The leader expanded his underground connections anonymously through the internet and selling the blueprints of their inventions. He started the combat training to the remaining family members, as well. After many years of isolation, the family expanded, and they became a small nation. It became a tradition to train a talented family member to have the strength and have more protective measures in case of the tragedy all those years ago may repeat.
A leader will never let the blood that is spilled to be repaid with interest doubled every passing year. He waited and waited until he got the information from a trusted ally that the one who attacked their family is the mighty nation of a particular family.
From that day onwards, the leader of the Unreachables prepared all the trained members to get ready for a war. An immediate attack may have been effective, but a carefully planned tactical attack will be devastating. So, for seven days, the Unreachables prepared and planned the attack cautiously for their enemy is one of the strongest nations in the world.
There would be guaranteed casualties to the family, but the cost for the other side would be their whole nation. They started the attack after the seven days, it started before dusk, and they had taken over the whole country before the day breaks.
Three hundred elite soldiers are divided and distributed to six chinooks that will scatter them through the designated attack points of the country. They avoided the detectable airspace by flying through mountainous areas, and the soldiers will be debarked several miles from the attack point and disguising as an ordinary citizen of the country.
They bombard the capital of the said nation by never before seen magic. The family members who are trained are taught to have no remorse for people who are not part of the family. Even if they kill hundreds of million people, they will not question why they've done these terrible things.
From the very early days of the training, the young and capable recruits are being taught how cruel the outside world is. The tragic event that almost eradicated the family is always reminded to them like it would be a sin to forget about it. That's the reason why the members will never have any second thoughts about killing some that are not part of their family.
The Unreachable anticipated an attack from the allied nations of the country. But, the leader carefully predicts everything that will happen. No one will be able to retaliate if they will finish it overnight through sheer overwhelming power. The allied nations will be expected to turn a blind eye after they occupy the country. If an enemy knows that they cannot win an unwinnable war, their leaders would not be so foolish to send their troops to their demise.
After that day onwards, the Unreachables occupied the devasted nation, and they reign and ruled over the new land. It took many years before the next leader that it would be better to make artificial islands because the land that they conquered is too big and too risky for an attack of the nearby nations.
The leader ordered the members to transfer all their resources from their isolated island to their new home.
The leader declared that the Unreachables is a newly independent country, and the acquired land will be an annex in the future. It all started the next day after the invasion.
All the nations acknowledged the claim of the leader. They didn't weight any options deliberately because if they vote against it, that will be detrimental to them in the future. All of them know that Unreachables can create more advanced technology. They don't know why; all they know that all the family members are gifted, and they always have great ideas that surpass geniuses.
No one can stop the rise of the Unreachables. The world now knows how terrifying the family is. From astounding magic to extraordinary ideas, they have proven why they are called the Unreachables.
A hundred and fifty years later, the nation of the Unreachables is located two hundred miles to the east of the invaded Land. It is a series of artificial archipelagoes that was created strategically to prevent a threat from nearby nations. The second leader is the one who proposed this arrangement for the betterment of the family.
The world in the future didn't know how much the Unreachables accumulate their power until today. All they know is that they kept sharing their ideas of their invention to the world. Every passing generation, there would be a leader who would become a bridge to the outside world to share their discoveries. They shared those advancements in technology, not including the weapon of destruction they had invented throughout the years.
But the passage of time does not stop the greediness of people; instead, it is becoming covetous thinking. People may become undeterred by sheer power alone, and desperate times will ignite the ravenous nature of the people.
There is a deplorable event that is bound to happen if these people will consolidate their devious plan together.
Like a predator, they are waiting for the excellent opportunity to happen.

Each passing day is a blessing for both Luella and Michaelis.
As they sat in a luxurious chair, relaxing and savouring the aroma of the flower that is arranged by Michaelis. They usually spend their time on the terrace every morning. The luminous morning sun is yet to reach its peak brightness. A small table is between them where you can see a wooden serving board with two cups of coffee.
"My wife, I received an e-mail regarding the summit that will happen next week." Sipping the coffee before looking at Luella. "It would still be your final decision that matters; I know the elders are worried, but you don't have to worry. I will be the one accompanying you."
The world already knew that there is a new leader that was appointed to the Unreachables. They as well knew that she is married to a minor family member recently.
All the elders or the pillars of the family objected for the leader from going to the summit. They all knew that the mistress is already taught on how politics and how the world works, but it would still be irrational to send a newly appointed leader to an international meeting after just a month of succession.
"Indeed, my dear husband, I know the process of the meeting already, and I know that you are there for me in case something will happen," she said while looking to the bright horizon. "The last meeting was five years ago. I hope that there will be something they can give us instead of just gifting them always." a hint of expectation on her eyes.
She turned to her husband excitedly, "Ohhh! It would be a great chance to venture to the outside world; we can have our honeymoon vacation as well. We must go to those amazing places that you told me about!"
She is not caring if she is the leader of the Unreachables; the image she showed to her husband is like a child that thought of a brilliant idea.
Michaelis got up from his chair went to Luella's chair, he held her arms urging her to stand up. He directed her to the waist long balustrade of the terrace. After they reach their destination, Michaelis held her right hand up and put his left hand on her hips. Like in a dancing position, Michaelis looked into her eyes while smiling and said. "Yes, my dear. That would be a great plan. We would spend our time away from these islands. I hope that there are no changes to those beautiful places, it has been so many years I went there for missions," he acted like he is disappointed. "But, the beauty of those places will dull if it will be compared to you, my dear."
"Surely, you jest my dear husband." There is a hint of rosiness in her face. "I am so glad to know that you know how to tease my dear. We would be spending eternity together, and it would be so dull if we only love each other unconditionally. I suppose we would be pulling each other's legs from now on?" she said with a note of laughter in her voice.
"Well, I don't want to be on receiving end because of your teasing. I don't have any say about you poking fun at me every time you have a chance. But I was thinking of training myself for those kinds of attacks for you." he said while having a self-satisfactory face.
A hint of amusement can be seen on the face of Luella. "I appreciate that my husband. I will be expecting your repertoire from now on then."
"I'll gladly do that then. By the way, I am expecting a kiss from you in this position." He tilted his head to the side while pointing his lips.
Luella rolled her eyes while seeing the usual attitude of his husband. She clearly understands that he only shows this side of him to her.
She kissed the cheek of Michaelis, and they laughed together.
Both of them spend their days just like this until the said date for the summit arrived.
