Chapter 136: Killer Tat

Andrea woke up having slept better, but still not well. She peeked out beyond the living room to check if Kyle was in the kitchen. She was glad to see that he wasn't still at the dining table. Instead, she found him at the bathroom sink, mid-shave.

"How are you doing this morning?" Kyle asked gently.

"I'm fine," she said brightly. She didn't want to talk about what happened the previous evening and was glad Kyle hadn't pushed her. "More time digging through your father's files this morning?"

Kyle looked hesitant as he rinsed the razor for another pass. "We… can… Though if you want to do that, it might be smarter to just do that here, rather than at your office. Fewer… complications."

Andrea wasn't sure if he was referring to Madison or Simon or both, but she had to agree.
