Forms Of Angels
Every Angel is individual but they conform to basic and general characteristics depending on their celestial rank. Note that the clothing that Angels may be wearing is not clothing at all. It is part of their body and being. This also holds true for weaponry and apparatus, it is part of the angel's body even though it can be separated.
Angels- Delicate and smooth features with supple white skin. They have a plain white robe draped over their body which cuts of just above the knees and are barefoot. Two pearly white wings each as long as their body grace their back. With an average height of 1.7 meters, Angels have wingspans of 3.5 meters.
Archangels- less delicate features compared to Angels and always wearing the leather armour of heaven over their white robes with a white cape draped over their backs. Unlike Angels, they wear footwear. They carry swords of heaven along with an orb and their heads shine with light. They have four wings each 1.5x longer than their bodies. With an average height of 1.8 meters, Archangels have a wingspan of 5.5 meters.
Principalities- they have white skin and features gentler than Angels. They wear long and pristine white robes with no decorations that hang past their feet, which are bare. A golden cloth of heaven is wrapped around their chests and they always carry two crowns in either hand. They have six wings each 2x longer than their bodies. With an average height of 1.7 meters, Principalities have a wingspan of 7 meters.
Powers- white skin with a huge stature normally about two meters tall. However, they are still quite thin and muscleless, keeping the frail beauty of the angels. They wear the golden armour of heaven that covers the whole body, including the feet, except the head and wings. Their heads have a thin ring of flames floating behind and they almost always keep their eyes closed. They carry a burning sword and the banner of heaven in the form of a metal pole with sleek metal decoration on the end. They have eight wings each 3x longer than their bodies. With an average height of 2 meters, Powers have a wingspan of 12 meters.
Virtues- they wear large coloured robes that hang off of their bodies. Their feet are bare. With white skin and gentle features kinder than that of Principalities, they have long hair and wear a crown made of branches and leaves on their heads forming into a holy cross at the central front. They carry a holy sceptre that has a ribbon floating around it. They have ten wings each 4x longer than their bodies. With an average height of 1.8 meters, Virtues have a wingspan of 14.5 meters.
Dominions- with white skin and hair not passing neck-length, the angelic lordships wear no clothing except for a long white cloth ribbon covering their genitals and floating around them. Their bare body is the first among the angels to be muscular and chiselled. It is a lean sort of muscular and by no means bulky, however, it is a perfect body that has absolutely no fat on it, showing the extremities of muscularity. They carry the same metallic banner of heaven as the powers, except it is much bigger and grander. They have twelve wings each 5x longer than their bodies. With an average height of 1.9 meters, Dominions have a wingspan of 19 meters.
Thrones- reaching a high enough celestial rank, thrones have finally abandoned their humanoid bodies. They normally appear as four rings covered in eyes, each one bigger than the last and rotating within each other around a holy sphere of light in the form of a giant sphere. Thrones do not have feet, so they never touch the ground. The light within the rings is so bright that humans cannot look at Thrones without blinding themselves. The sphere is absolutely perfect and represents the perfection of lifeforms within heaven. Attached to the outer ring of the sphere are sixteen angelic wings each 8x longer than the diameter of the sphere. With the sphere usually being 10 meters in diameter, the wingspan of Thrones is 170 meters.
Cherubim- the second highest celestial rank, Cherub, takes a form representing the beauty of all creation. They appear as giant masses of eye-covered wings with four faces within: a man, ox, lion and eagle. It is said that an eye from every creature in existence lies on the wings of a Cherub. Like Thrones, Cherubim have no feet so they never touch the ground from the moment they are born. Unlike all other angels, Cherubim do not have white wings, but a golden-brown colour. They have twenty wings, each 10x longer than their height. With the height of the mass of wings usually being around 15 meters, Cherubim have a wingspan of 300 meters.
Seraphim- the highest angelic class attainable, Seraphim represent the peak of the holy light's power. They appear as a bodiless mantle of wings with a huge eye at the centre and many other smaller eyes above and below it. The body of a Seraph is perfectly symmetrical. Their wings are coloured white, however, the perimeter of their wings is a golden-brown like that of Cherubim. Wherever Seraphim appear, the light of heaven shines down through the parted clouds onto them. There are many eyes with large black pupils and no iris along the spine of each wing, forming a pair with its symmetrical opposite. With each wing being 500 meters long, Seraphim have a wingspan of 1000 meters.
Virtuous Angelus- the forms of these Celestial deities varies and not much is known about them. The most famous Virtuous Angelus, Metatron, is known to appear as two huge white wings attached to a grand visage of white light. Metatron is as big as an entire galaxy and his wingspan is an unfathomable number of kilometres.
