Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Letter
The Kingdom of Evergreen is an Island with a length of 200 km and a width of 90 km. Consisting of only one capital city, 9 towns and 56 villages.
With rich maritime industries and has a large area of fertile soil. It's a Kingdom with bustling markets that merchants and nobles comes and goes.
With almost a hundred merchant ships docking on every month coming from different parts of the world. Providing rich commodities such as wools, leather, silk, tea and wine from the North to exotic fruits, wild animals, coffee and tobacco from the South.
With a complete food, shelter, clothing and security the population has reached an outstanding 1.5 million people. It's not much if you compare to the other kingdoms and empires from the main continent but for a small island kingdom, it is in fact a bit bloated.
Also has a standing army of 30,000, from foot soldiers to naval soldiers. With dozens of galleys patrolling and escorting on it's territory. No pirates can escape the watchful eyes of the proud Evergreenians.
The Kingdom of Evergreen is one of the 5 Kingdoms affiliated to the Cecilian Empire. With a big brother at it's back the Evergreenians can have their peaceful lives and proceed to their daily jobs at ease.
Two months ago the King and Queen of Evergreen had attended the grand coronation ceremony of the Crowned Prince, now the present emperor, Emperor William Cecilion Oscar II. With all the nobles and royalties from the nearby kingdoms, affiliated or not, attended the festive occasion.
"Father and Mother should be returning home right now sister. Ah my free days would be over!" With a miserable face, Scarlet was lamenting how fast the days passed by
With no parents to scold or stare at you, you're like a husky that runs wild when he gets out of the house! Sarah rolled her eyes at her sister's little adversary.
She opened the letter and read it's content and sure enough both parents are returning back home since the coronation and every banquet that should be attending was finally over.
"As we received this letter they should have boarded a boat by now. Considering the distance between the mainland to Evergreen they should reach land in about two days." Sarah calculated in her mind and came up with an answer immediately.
"My big sister is always the best and the smartest!" With a smug smile, like she was the one who calculated the time, Scarlet was really proud to have a big sister.
"You just don't study, come sit beside me and I'll help you with Calculations!" Sarah patted the sit next to her urging for her sister to study.
"Ahh, my head hurts! I need to find a doctor immediately!" With a woosh she disappeared as fast she appeared.
"Really!" Sarah was already accustomed with the antics of her little sister. Holding the letter and reading the words that was written by her mother, she felt something wasn't right.
"Mothers hand writing was a bit shaky. It's should be written hastily or mother was just thinking something else?" She had a feeling that their peaceful lives would come an end when their parents comes back home this time.
