Chapter 31: Awakening - III
Asher expression darkened when Roxana end up the call abruptly, without listening to his explanation. He then urned his gazed to the woman beside him, who was the source of Roxana misunderstanding.
"What? It's not my fault, if she misunderstood you," said the woman.
"Maia, I don't mind killing you rights now, if it's that what you want," Asher said coldly.
Maia smile, gave him a flirty look and said, "Sure," she paused and pointed her index finger at him, "But, Asher Shyne, you're the one who need me, not the other way around."
Asher gave her a cold gazed, and in the blink of an eye, his hand which was tightly held in the steering wheel, was now on her neck and strangle her, which caught her by surprised.
Maia felt suffocated, as his hand throttle her neck, which reminded her, he's still the conceited and ruthless person, messing with him will be her only lost.
As Nathan usually says, he's the last person anyone want to provoke with.
"Oh..k, ok....fine," Maia relented while choking.
Asher, instantly released his hand and glanced at the café, while Maia was still coughing from his strangling.
However, Asher completely ignored her and gazed at the front , wherein Roxana was coming out of the café with Evelyn and Rian, with a smile on her face.
Just when he was about to got off his car and walk towards her, Maia beside him suddenly spoke, "I'll tell you everything I know."
Asher right hand on the door locks halted, he gazed at Roxana and observed her from the windshield of his car.
Maia turned towards his gazed and finally spot the human girl who had bewitched this devil beside her.
"Ahha, she's sure pretty," commented Maia.
"I get it now, why you're so obsessed with her," she further added.
Asher gave her a cold look, which remind her of scene earlier. Thus, she quickly speak while caressing her neck, "I'm not sure about Anitra current whereabouts. However, her sister Anita is currently in an island called Tisisle." Maia paused and looked at Asher emotionless face and solemnly said, " Presumably, Anitra is believed to be hiding from Arthur Williams. As far as we all know Arthur Williams is dead. So, the point is, why would she be running from a dead person?"
Maia retract her gazed from Asher, turned to front and then said in an earnest tone, "Or perhaps, he isn't dead?"
Asher face was still expressionless, but deep inside he's a bit surprised. He had heard of the named Arthur Williams, the third longest and craziest vampire in the world countless of time. Infact, before meeting Roxana, despite never meeting him, Asher found him to be foolish to gave up his life for his human lover, who is fragile as glass for the vampires, since they could crush them in a heartbeat. However, after being in a relationship with Roxana, he could understand his feeling, and even admired his courage to be against his own family.
Asher then turned his gazed to Maia, "Immediately depart to that Island and bring her sister here," he ordered her.
Maia rolled her eyes at him, but eventually agreed, "Fine, whatever." She put her sunglasses, a cap on her head and immediately got off the car. Whether she agreed or not, he'd still force her to agree, since she still need him for her own vendetta.

Roxana walked inside the hall of the freshers party, while holding Rian arms, with Evelyn on the other side of his hand. The hall was bustling with music in the background, since the after party of the freshers meet had just begun.
Roxana was dress in a turquoise sleeveless slip dress that reached below her knees, with a white coat draped over her shoulders and with her black wavy hair down, unlike her usual straight hair, which mesmerized everyone who put their eyes on her.
Meanwhile, Evelyn wear a black slip dress identical to Roxana. In contrast to Roxana who wore it simple with a coat draped on her shoulders, Evelyn on the other hand just put one piece of dress, which captivated every boys for her sexiness, if not for the man beside her, they would have flirt with her. Rian respectively wore a black tuxedo, which match perfectly with Evelyn black dress, and protectively hold both their arms.
"I told you not to wear this dress, look now everyone's staring at you, especially the boys. I don't like it," whispered Rian to Evelyn.
"So, what? It's not my fault that they keep staring at me. Maybe they are staring at Roxana,, she's more beautiful than me" Evelyn whispered back.
Roxana peered at the duo beside her, they had whispering non-stop, since they entered the hall.
"I'm thirsty," she told them.
Rian took off her hand and point at the small bar where drink are being served.
"You go there," he told her and turned back to Evelyn.
Roxana rolled her eyes at his behaviour and quickly excuse herself from them and walked towards the bar.
Precisely, she was about to sit on the only seat left on the bar, when another person move faster than her and quickly seated down.
"Damn it," Roxana cursed out in a low voice, and was about to turned back, when the person turned around to look at her and immediately stood up.
"My apologies, Is this your seat?" he asked her politely.
Roxana was stunned, the person infront of her has a sharp jawline, thin cheekbones, a handsomely pale face with a bit of messy black hair.
However, the point is she recognized him as the figure she saw across the street, on the night she drove out with Rian, when she had just moved to this city. His face in the dimly light in the bar instantly brought back his handsome pale face across the street of the city, although it was just a glimpse of his face that she had seen, however his handsome pale face has deeply imprinted on her mind.
She blinks her eyes and said, "You-"
"I'm sorry, I took your seat," he interrupted her.
"No, it's not mine," Roxana quickly denied.
"It's ok, you can have it," he offered his seat and turned to look around and noticed an empty seat besides Roxana and gesture with his eyes, "Oh, there's one beside you."
"It's ok, I'll sit her," Roxana took the seated beside her and then turned to the waiter, "Water, please."
"Hello, I'm Sebastian," the man beside her suddenly spoke.
