Chapter 6: Experimentation

Inside the control room of SCP-6000's containment room. Three people are seen looking through the window. The SCP had called itself 'The Lich' and had posed no harm or ill-intention over the course of the interview.

"Do you think he's just acting?" Asked one of the guys sitting and looking at an old monitor.

"We're not sure. But due to the report at the battle earlier, it's likely it was only seeking freedom." Said the lady in white coat. This is the same lady who was in charge of researching The Lich before the Chaos Attacked.

"Can he-"

he was cut off by the lady in white coat.

"It's an 'it', Harold." She said in a stern tone, "Don't forget to skipname them."

The guard at the other side of the monitor glanced a look at him. He couldn't tell what he was expressing because of the black mask covering half his face.

"Go get us lunch, you're still new so go around and get familiar with the facility." He said.

The guy nodded and went out of the room, but before he could close the door, he turned around and asked.

"What drinks?"

"Coffee, with a little bit of sugar." Replied the guard.

"Just water" replied the lady.

With that, he closed the door with a keycard and headed to the cafeteria. It would take about a few minutes before he could come back, and by the time the experiment starts with the new SCP, they'd be done eating.

"Lieutenant, did you notice anything strange with the SCP?" Said the lady.

"No, why?" He replied.

'The Lich' stood up and started walking around, he was feeling bored, and decided to stretch. He glanced at the window and saw only two shadows were left. He stared at the one standing in the middle for a while before tapping the walls with his fingers. They made quite a rough sound when he slid it on the surface.

"Perhaps he might be hiding something." She said.

"Could be. He still hasn't answered why he came from outer space." He replied. "Doctor Eliza, you think we could integrate it to Omega-7?"

She shook her head, there wasn't enough evidence that the SCP was guaranteed to not flee when he was outside the facility. Or worse, kill them.

"We will leave that to the council. If It does, it's going to be a big weapon for the Foundation's arsenal."

"I think it's going to be great if it doesn't want us dead." Joked the lieutenant.

Eliza didn't laugh, she just stared at the SCP like some cold machine who only wants to serve the foundation. The lieutenant coughed and looked at the monitor. The Hume readings were normal, if it went high he would activate Sarah. (Sarah is another name for SRA, which is a device the MTF's use to suppress and turn off any entities with reality bending powers.)

"This is boring." He said.

"In this line of Job, you're lucky things are boring." She replied.

"That's true, I guess I should just enjoy this moment" he leaned back and stared at the dark ceiling.

The door opened as Harold came back with a plastic bag with three stacked foam and one bottle of water and a hot coffee with his other hand.

He placed the coffee in the table as well taking out the rest of the foam storage.

"It's pizza day, I got one for each of us."

The guard got out of his chair with excitement and rubbed his hands as he took off his mask then sat in front of Harold.

"Well I'll be damned, I forgot it's this day!" He said enthusiastically. "Did you get the bigger slices?"

"Yeah, the scientists that are off duty at the cafeteria gave me a nasty looked when I picked them up." He replied.

The guard just laughed it out. "Those happens. Doc, you gonna eat?"

Eliza took a deep breath and exhaled, "I hope it's onions toppings" she said as she sat down.

"It's bacon unfortunately." Replied Harold.

"Well doesn't matter, they make the best pizzas here. I hear the staff worked for a famous pizza place once." Said the lieutenant.

As they opened the foam, they realized something was missing. And Harold realized it too. The spoons and fork was missing.

"I'm sorry, I forgot the utensils. I'll be back"

He went out the room rushing. They looked at the food, beans and hot potato were served today as they were steaming hot. The pizza slices were stored in a container next to Harold.

The lieutenant was about to grab and open them before Eliza stopped him.

"Let him open it." She said.

"Find." He replied. His stomach was growling.

.....

'Its strange I don't feel hungry.' thought Hassu as he looked at the double huge door in front of him.

Just as he turned back to try and sleep, the door opened loudly. He turned to see a D-class entering.

'huh? Why a D-class?'

When the D-class walked in, he was shaking as he saw The Lich. He was told that The Lich was tall and an undead, but seeing it personally was a scary. He could see those green dot eyes like it was staring at his soul, his arms was a bone with a rotten flesh hanging off by his shoulder.

His head was covered by a green robe with two horns protruding, and he was wearing a strange crown.

"D-class 0971, the SCP won't harm you." Said a feminine voice through the intercom.

"Do you have a name?" The Lich asked.

0971 gulped and tried to answer at his best. "I- Im Andy."

"Pleasure to be working with you, Andy." The Lich replied in a soft but deep tone.

Andy didn't expect this monstrous being had a very soothing voice. He expected a hoearse and terrible voice.

"This will be short. We just want to examine how your word abilities and mind control work. You can start any time with mind control." Then she added, "it won't work on us this time."

Hassu looked at the D-class in front of him. how does his powers work again. And how will he control him.

'Do I just think about it? It's just telepathy after all. Alright, I'll try.'

Andy was looking at The Lich's eyes, he wasn't aware a strange connection was forming between them. The Lich focused himself on his mind, and then, he felt it. A connection, like a puppet master holding a string.

Andy's pupils suddenly glowed in green, e couldn't move or think.

"Now we want you to move him."

The Lich made Andy walk, back and forth and then moved his arms as if he was a puppet. Which he was at this point. And somehow, he didn't feel bad controlling a person. In his past life he despised manipulation and even punched his friend who only used him for his money. Now, it just felt, nothing.

"You can let go of him now.

Andy's eyes became normal again, he saw everything happen and followed them as if it was his own. It felt, unnatural.

"0971, please wear the helmet provided for you."

The door opened as a guard went in and lended the helmet to the D-class.

'what the hell are they doing? Isn't this breaking protocols by letting the door open and the guard in?' thought Hassu. He just stared blankly at the guard as he was handed a black helmet with strange devices attached to it.

Hassu didn't know a squad from Delta-4 and Omega-7 was stationed just near the halls if he ever attempted to escape. This was a test given by the council, they wanted to use someone like The Lich with incredible powers to use against high Risk operations.

The D-class grabbed it and the guard went out as the door slowly closed.

"Put it on. Count to ten and take it off. After that this test will be over."

Those words made the D-class happy. He quickly put it on. He felt a little weird when he wore it, but he started counting.

"SCP-7000, please attempt to use mind control in the subject."

Hassu tried to control him, but he couldn't. It felt it a wall was prohibiting him from controlling the D-class.

Time was up as the D-class took it off. The door opened again as the guard came in to carry the D-class and helmet.

"Thank you for cooperating, SCP-7000" Siad the feminine voice.

The door was now closed once again as Hassu stared at the window

"If time goes on, and we see you do well. We might give you previlige's."

Hassu knew what those previliges were, if he were lucky he could get a class 3 or 4, which would allow him to roam certain areas like the cafeteria under supervision.

"I hope to exceed your expectations." Replied Hassu.

There was no reply on the intercom, he just saw the three of them slowly shrank their shadows as they may have left. He was alone once again.

'Wow, just wow. Oh well, I hope I can finally get some previliges soon enough. This containmentnis boring.' he thought.

...

"We haven't tested his reality bending powers yet." Said Harold.

"That's for the next test. Right now I want that D-class sent to a psychiatrist, SCP-143 is going to damage it's mind. And lieutenant, tell the Mobile Task force they're free to go. We won't need them for a while."

Harold frowned at the mention of the D-class being called an 'It'. But there was nothing he could do. He doesn't like it but he has to follow and suck it up.

the lieutenant gave his goodbyes as he separated in the hallways from Doctor Eliza and Harold. Harold smiled and waved goodbye.

'I hope Abel won't go ballistic just for boring him. it's bad enough they're trying to weaponize that SCP too.' he thought.

In all of his years he has never felt unease even when facing the deadliest SCP's, and even when the last huge mission they had last last month. Compared to everything he's experienced by far, The Lich was giving off a very 'bad vibe'.
