Chapter 6: chapter 6 : Lucas and Damien
That evening, Lucas and Amber only watched a few fights and he was surprised that the girl ended up liking what she saw so much.
The fights were sometimes very violent but the opponents respected each other and there was a very good atmosphere as well.
They had to leave because it was getting late and Lucas escorted her home . When they arrived at her house, Amber asked him to come in and he accepted.
He also wanted to meet Amber's mother, a very kind and friendly woman to introduce himself, he considered it important at least for her to know with whom her daughter had spent the day and evening.
Mrs Bennett greatly appreciated Lucas' calm and polite personality and they had a great chat over a cup of tea.
When Lucas left, Amber told him she had a great day, Lucas told her it was mutual and that she was welcome at his place before simply leaving.
A week later, Lucas and Mark found themselves at the complex below the Pentagon to witness the recruitment of the new guardians of the globe.
They were greeted by Robot who was supervising everything and once in the gathering room, Mark started to get excited in front of some famous heroes because he was a fan before having his powers.
They saw Eve in the corner looking really upset, she saw them and they nodded at each other.
Robot started his speech during which Lucas stepped aside, took out his cell phone and started playing games.
His gesture was seen by everyone and many who did not know him looked at him with contempt, it was mainly men because Lucas did not wear a mask and the women were rather charmed by his face, which was still above average.
He had a rather unique look and looked a lot like his older brother but with longer hair and very pale skin, almost like that of a dead person.
The selection duels began and it was up to Eve to go first, she faced a tall muscular blonde guy but the fight only took a few seconds where she dodged his slow attacks before knocking him out with a atomic punch and even Lucas appreciated her footwork, she was doing quite well apparently in close combat.
She then came back to Lucas and looked at him intently then sat next to him but he ignored her just by handling his phone, he immediately sent a message to his brother asking him to come and keep the girl in good company because he slightly suspected Mark of having an attraction to her.
Mark saw this and came to sit with Eve and chat with her to try to relax her. Rex, Eve's boyfriend watched the scene with furrowed brows.
The fighting continued and at one point, Rex got up from his seat to come and annoy Lucas and provoke him because she preferred to sit next to him earlier.
However, Lucas ignored him blissfully and not content with that, Rex used his power to blow up the phone Lucas was playing on.
Annoyed, he looked at Rex in front of him who had completely forgotten who he was dealing with.
Rex: What?! Are you finally pissed and ready to take action?! I challenge you to the arena motherfucker.
Lucas: Are you sure that's what you want ?!
Rex: Get over asshole, I'll show you what it feels like to get your balls blown off.
Lucas looked at Eve in annoyance, "Eve calm down your asshole boyfriend please, putting me in a duel with someone much weaker is truly a humiliation!"
Eve: This idiot is not my boyfriend anymore, you can even kill him I don't care.
"Robot, Eve it is by your invitation that I am here today, to watch the next guardians of the globe and not some idiot clown who apparently wants to die! Since this is so, I prefer to leave because I am wasting my time! " Lucas said as he got up to leave.
"Hey where are you going Bastard ?I…" Rex said putting his hand on Lucas' shoulder but at the moment of contact Lucas delivered a backhand slap to Rex's jaw who was sent flying straight into a wall.
When people came to look at him, they were scared because his jaw was broken as was his left arm, his left leg and 3 ribs.
Lucas left immediately, with everything he has now amassed against the gangs he is super rich so buying a phone is nothing for him but he prefers to be elsewhere than to stay put up with useless provocations.
A few days later, Lucas was in Africa again, he had the information on who he wanted thanks to the databases but also thanks to the best detective in the world Damien Dark blood, the demon.
This guy was so honest and efficient that Lucas wondered why he didn't work with him from the start.
They met a few days ago, Dark Blood was investigating the death of the guardians and all the leads led him to Nolan.
He had tried to get closer to Mark but Nolan had an eye on him all the time, he also spoke to Deborah but she was hesitant to help and Nolan was far too present at his side.
The only family member he was able to speak to freely was Lucas who no longer wanted to have any connection with his father.
Damien asked him some questions and he was cooperative but not directly accusatory towards Omni-man.
However, Lucas had advised him to put this investigation on hold because even if it was indeed Omni-man the murderer, the world is not yet ready to face him.
Now he and Damien worked together a lot, he would feed him information on people and then Lucas would punish them based on what they did.
At the moment, in a room, Fear was in front of a camera which was recording to send a message.
He asked leaders, ministers and other corrupt and murderous personalities to return what they stole from the population, to correct certain laws, to stop civil wars and all forms of corruption in 3 days, if within this period nothing was done so he was going to massacre them all.
He had hacked the satellite so that this message could be broadcast throughout Africa and the press also broadcast it around the world.
Lucas had still hidden his face because of the press and his personal life, he had therefore worn a black mask to hide the lower part of his face. He wasn't afraid of anyone, but he thought about his mother and didn't want her to get into trouble.
In two short days, social networks were on fire with images, videos and photos of Fear.
The majority of the population really supported him but there were also others who criticized him or insulted him even Cecil was angry with him but Lucas didn't care either.
Today he was going to act and couldn't wait to clean Africa of this human waste.
The following nights after the three days, Lucas finally carried out his threats and started killing the people concerned, some personalities thought of hiding but it was useless, they were easily found and killed but not all, not in a few night.
After each night, he released evidence of these people's crimes on the internet, their most atrocious acts and the horrors in which they were involved.
The next day, the bodies of several members of corrupt governments in Africa were found almost everywhere, dismembered or mutilated.
When people saw this on the internet, they understood that Lucas was not someone to mess with and almost immediately, people started doing what he asked.
Several African executives and elites have been replaced and dispossessed of their property in favor of the public treasury. Several were arrested and locked up in record time.
Sometimes it took brutal justice and bloody order to make bad things stop through fear, Fear lived up to his pseudonym on this case very well.
He also massacred street criminals, gangs etc. It's amazing what someone could do in a few nights with such powers.
He also went around the forests and savannahs as always to kill poachers, it was even his favorite activity since he is an animal lover although remaining a large carnivore.
Today he and Mark were talking, apparently Mark was in love with Eve, he had finally admitted it and needed his brother's help or advice.
Lucas was the youngest but he was so much more mature that even Mark sometimes took him for the eldest.
He gave him advice on how to make her feel comfortable and confident but above all to spend time with her and give her plenty of time because she is just coming out of a breakup.
Later, Cecil contacted Lucas to go and arrest Doc Seismic at Mt Rushmore but Lucas recommended Mark and Eve who made a good team.
Amber and Lucas hung out together a lot now, especially at his house where she often came to cook, they also went to social centers and did volunteer work.
Lucas with the money from the gangs made donations to these centers and also to the homeless. Amber liked him more and more and even developed feelings for him.
The weeks passed and Lucas decided to bring Saeko to his house permanently, this little one had become very attached to Debra but she was much more at ease with Lucas, the problem is that every time Amber came to see Lucas she showed a little jealousy.
A few days ago, Cecil had asked Lucas for his help with an escort mission to Mars but he had instead recommended Mark again which upset Cecil who considered him more competent for this mission but he did nothing said.
Lucas wanted Mark to gain more experience and strength like Nolan, without facing danger he would be incapable of doing so and what's more, he went with Eve because thanks to Lucas, they had become a couple although Eve secretly preferred Lucas.
Fear right now was on a terrorism case, someone was kidnapping people and grafting bombs to their chests so they would explode all over town.
One of the explosions took place near his mother's house and when he went to look, the house had nothing but he still saw something inside, it was Cecil and those men who were taking Dark Blood away before teleport to the GDA .
Lucas flew directly there and he forced his way into a specific room where he heard Cecil's voice through his superior senses.
Taking them by surprise, he saw Damien in a runic circle and without even trying to find out anything he took Damien out of there and asked Cecil for an explanation.
Cecil: WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING THERE KID?! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ?
Soldiers with invisibility armor came out to aim their weapons at Lucas.
"I know you're just doing your job but I'm going to count to 5 for you to leave, those who are still here in the end will die by my hand." Lucas said without emotion and started counting when Cecil ordered his men to leave.
Lucas: What were you planning to do to Damien ?
Cecil: Send him back to hell, where he belongs.
Lucas: Let me guess, he's investigating the link between Omni-man and the assassination of the guardians a little too much ?
Cecil, surprised, understood that Lucas knew. "So what do you think, brat ? Is your father the culprit ?"
Lucas: First of all, he is not my father and yes I think he is the culprit but the reasons for his action are unknown to me, only him would in any case be strong enough to kill them all like that on earth. I don't know why he did that but to popularize this matter would be a serious mistake because if he really went on a rampage I wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him effectively, he is much more physically powerful than me.
Cecil: There are two of us then, that's why I have to send Dark blood back to hell.
Lucas: And that's where we have a problem because he's my friend and the world still needs him. (he looked at Damien) listen man, you've finished your investigation and have already given your results to someone on the side of the law, whether this person believes you or not you did your job so no need to go any further. Okay ?
Damien: Huuuuummmm!
Lucas: Do you agree ? You already investigated successfully and that was your job, now stopping him is not your task.
Damien: Okay, my work is done on this case.
Lucas: Cecil if this is how you treat people who work for a better world then we'll have problems working together in the future!
Cecil: You know I had my reasons kid ! This demon could have compromised peace on earth!
"So you're looking for a way to convince him !! NOT SEND HIM BACK TO HELL WHEN HE HAS RENDERED A SERVICE TO THE WORLD SEVERAL TIMES!! Old man the world still needs him and you know that. Maybe I'll work alone now..." Lucas said before leaving with Damien.
