Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Being Spoiled
The car came to a stop at a jetty along the river. Yan Wen's hair and skirt danced in the wind while her cheeks turned rosy. Jiang Sui-an placed his suit jacket on her shoulders and put his arm around her.
「Please board, Mrs. Jiang.」
Yan Wen lifted her head to look at him, placing her hand in his outstretched palm.
「I didn't know that the view from a yacht could be so beautiful」
Millions of stars lit up the night sky like a canvas. Leaning on the railing, Yan Wen soaked it all in.
Jazz music from the yacht's interior filled the air as Jiang Sui-an stood on her left. 「It's not enough.」
「What?」
Yan Wen turned to him quizzically. In the next second, she found herself wrapped in his arms as fireworks shot into the air. In light of the fireworks, she felt like she was drowning in his gaze.
「I want you to remember tonight and I want you to remember me.」 His deep affection left an impression on Yan Wen's heart.

Yan Wen smiled and rested her head on his chest. 「I'll treasure everything that you've given me tonight.」
His possessive streak and his care... and his lingering kisses.
In each other, they had found mutual regard and appreciation.
'Sui-an, wait for me, I will be in a position to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you.
Jiang Sui-an, too, awaited that day. He wanted to see what his wife had in store for those scumbags.
While Yan Wen was basking in happiness, Jiang Lingyun was at home throwing things around in anger. She had put so much thought into acting on 'Time', why should Yan Wen get a direct offer for secondary lead actress? This situation would not have happened but she had been unable to stop it because Bai Zhexuan still cared for Yan Wen.
Hearing the footsteps behind her, Jiang Lingyun whirled around and stared at Bai Zhexuan with teary eyes. 「What are you here for?」
「Here to see my darling of course.」 Bai Zhexuan pulled out an exquisitely wrapped box. 「It's the necklace you liked the other day. Try it on.」
「I have enough necklaces!」 Jiang Lingyun was not appreciative. She knew very well that Bai Zhexuan was only trying to mollify her.
「Then what do you want? I'll buy it now! Even if you want the stars in the sky, I'll pluck one down for you.」 Bai Zhexuan hugged Jiang Lingyun and planted a light kiss on the side of her neck.
「You know very well what I want!」 Jiang Lingyun huffed. 「Everything Yan Wen has done only shows that she wants to steal you away!」
「Don't be silly. I'll be yours forever. You shouldn't stress yourself out, it's bad for the baby.」
Bai Zhexuan patted her gently on the back, not knowing that the woman in his arms had already planned out a scenario to embarrass Yan Wen.
It would be okay if Yan Wen was not the secondary lead. But since she had decided otherwise, Jiang Lingyun was not going to leave it like that. After all, she was much popular than Yan Wen. It would be simple to create problems for Yan Wen.
After Bai Zhexuan had no choice but to agree to Yan Wen taking the secondary role, Yan Wen received an invitation to the production opening ceremony.
「Yan Wen, I;m here.」 Xia stopped the car outside the door of the villa. She frowned as she saw Yan Wen step out in a simple tracksuit. 「You're wearing that?」
「Yes.」 Yan Wen looked down at herself. She felt there was nothing wrong with being comfortable and natural.
Jiang Sui-an happened to walk out and overhear their conversation. 「Come with me.」 He tugged Yan Wen gently to the walk-in closet specially prepared for her. 「Is it not to your taste? I'll get them to redo it.」
「No, the clothes are lovely but I don't want to be too conspicuous.」 Yan Wen hurriedly explained.
Jiang Sui-an frowned at her. 「This beautiful face is already conspicuous no matter what you wear. These clothes can't hide your radiance, they will only enhance your look.」
His loving words had a magical quality to them and Yan Wen blushed. 「If President Jiang says so, would you help me choose an outfit?」
Yan Wen said it casually, but Jiang Sui-an really did pick out one for her. It was a beige off-shoulder dress covered in gems from neck to waist by foreign designer JUDI.
「Try it on.」
Yan Wen obeyed and matched with a pair of white heels. Her entire look was boosted on another level.
「Beautiful.」 To accessorize, Jiang Sui-an only chose a silver necklace to make Yan Wen look approachable.
「Who knew President Jiang has such a good taste!」
「I only have good taste because you're beautiful.」 He pulled Yan Wen into his arms, lifting her chin up and kissing her. 「Your beauty makes me lose control... I don't have to go to the office, we could...」
Like a pure blooming lily, a pale blush appeared on Yan Wen's cheeks as she met his kiss.
「But you're Dahua's president. You can't...」
Jiang Sui-an stroked her long hair and pushed down his desire. 「Then, I'll see you tonight...」
「... Okay.」 replied Yan Wen. Smiling shyly, she hooked her arm in his and made their way out of the villa. They looked like the perfect couple: Yan Wen's tranquil nature balanced Jiang Sui-an's domineering personality. It was a match made in heaven!
Xia could not help but admire them.
「Such a couple! If you played a couple in a movie, it would definitely sell out.」
「Let's go.」 Yan Wen laughed as she got into the car.

Reporters were waiting when they arrived and surrounded the car as Yan Wen got off. 「YeYan Wen, you've been quiet for the past two years, why are you making a comeback now? Did this have anything to do with Bai Zhexuan?」
「What's your relationship like with Jiang Lingyun? Will it be awkward since you're in the same production?」
Yan Wen did not answer any questions, waving the reporters away politely as she walked into the hotel. That was what a movie queen was supposed to do!
Her elegant warmth translated very well onto the camera. Like a fairy stepping out of the underworld, she grabbed everyone's attention.
After she had met every member of the production crew, Director Chen came up to Yan Wen. 「Thank you for joining us.」
「Director Chen, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I will definitely do my best.」
While Yan Wen was meeting with the crew, in Dahua president's office, Jiang Sui-an gave an order. 「Arrange for bodyguards to protect Yan Wen in secret. Don't let anyone suspicious near her!」
He knew better than most what people in the industry were prepared to do.
Yan Wen acting in this role was a sore spot for some people.
As Yan Wen and the director were preparing to take their seats, some actors doubted her sincerity. 「Does shoe want to make trouble for the production? The last incident was problematic enough.」
「Watch your words! She's the fiancee of Grand Entertainment's president. It would be easy to make you disappear from the industry.」
Not far away, Jiang Lingyun watched the scene unfurl with a look of disdain.
「Yan Wen, you may have joined the production but fate have decreed that I will trample on you.」
