The pub had not been open to the public long enough, you could say it had only been open for a few months or a few years and had grown in popularity.

At this moment the pub was a bit crowded with customers and the waitresses were moving from one place to another without being able to take a slight break.

"But Isn't she too young nya? She needs someone to keep her company nya!"
"I know it girl! I still don't know why I accepted her proposal at that time"
"Didn't it take too long nya?"
"...If this takes a little longer you can go get her and do the needful Anya" with seriousness Mia told to the cat girl and she nodded with the same seriousness as Mia.

The man's warning caused several to tense up at simply having heard those words.
When there is a problem in the city, adventurers have their own ways of communicating. Among those ways most are silent, but if the problem affects everyone equally, discretion does not matter.
"Excuse me but what happened?" a woman on the other side of the pub asked to find an answer.
"A pillar of light has just appeared in the middle of the city! A God has been returned to heaven!"

Everyone's surprise was immediate.
Fear was one thing that most demonstrated in the people in the pub.
Evilus took it upon himself to kill several Gods so that the falna of the Families was blocked and the strength of the adventurers was lost creating an unprecedented massacre in the city.
This fear had not yet disappeared and was still prevalent among the people of Orario. Adventurers were the most fearful that their god was next.

For Mia Riku was her priority and if anyone did anything to her she would take it upon herself to find those responsible and eliminate them without mercy.

If a person killed a God the punishment was death. The Gods had sealed their divine power and could only use some of it in specific things, so rules were established between humans and Gods.

Confidence among the adventurers was getting lower and lower and they had to constantly watch their backs from other people.

This also made known the sacrifice of the adventurers who gave their lives to save thousands of people.
Anya was worried about Riku and hoped that she would run away from the situation that originated.
The cat girl had grown fond of the girl and if anything happened to Riku Anya would join Mia in looking for those responsible.
With a speed worthy of a level 4 adventurer, Anya quickly moves away from the combat zone and investigates all nearby sites.

Riku did not know about the dark side of society and remained mostly in a pleasant environment with a normal life.
Their encounter gave her a trauma from which she will have to receive constant help to heal.
Riku was a child to everyone in the pub, even if Riku knows that she used to be 21 years old in her previous life she never experienced a situation like the one that happened to her before.
And emotions can be more complicated than they seem.

Anya carefully lifted Riku with both arms while holding her spear in one hand in case an enemy appeared.
She started running across the rooftops and headed for the Hostess of Fertility.
Carefully Anya took each of the jumps and kept her speed steady to keep Riku safe. After a while she found herself at one of the back doors of the pub.

The door opened, drawing the attention of some female employees who were in the area and saw the new arrivals.
"Anya, I heard Mama Mia scream! What's goi-?"
The first to speak was Syr but as she looked at who Anya was holding in her arms she fell silent and just watched silently.
For her part, Anya with a single glance communicated her intentions to her companions. They withdrew and some of them left several useful objects to help Riku.
"She fainted nya"

After a while Riku ended up fainting in Anya's arms from the shock of what had happened.
Anya followed Syr to Riku's room, they placed a blanket on the floor and stretched it out to place Riku on it.
"Can you call Mama Mia?"

Anya left the room leaving Syr alone with Riku.
Syr began to remove the girl's clothes in order to clean the wounds that Riku had received from the person who wanted to harm her.
Syr carefully moved Riku's body and exposed the wounds. She rummaged through the things her companions had left behind and grabbed what she needed.
She took a deep dish and poured water from a bottle, soaked a handkerchief in it and gently cleaned the wounds.
Slowly Syr began to clean every part of Riku's body. She was thankful that Riku only received damage to her chest, arm and one leg, if she had received more damage the probability that the girl would be in a critical condition would be very high.
Syr heals the damaged areas while looking at the face of the girl she has rescued.
That night she saw her.
A body with multiple wounds lying on the ground.
There was no one near the area and there was only Syr waiting for her partner. When Anya arrived at Syr's place there was a small talk and Anya agreed to help Syr move the girl to the pub.
Mia asked a lot of questions about the girl and eventually let her stay at the pub.
Syr was always at Riku's side, likewise Anya was at the girl's side but less so than Syr.

The door opened as Mia walked in followed by Anya who had changed her dress that was stained from carrying Riku.

"I took care of healing the most serious wounds as best I could" Syr stood up as she moved so that Mia could see Riku clearly "She took a potion from the bag she had with her"

In her thoughts Mia was trying to think who or what had been to blame for this.
She already had several hypotheses as to who was responsible for the event that happened recently but first she had to confirm it.
"When Riku wakes up don't ask her about what happened, first we need her to feel safe and then we will see how her situation is going"

Mia lifted Riku off the floor and placed her on the bed in her room while looking at her body.
She saw the bag she had ordered and thanked herself that she had purchased high quality potions in case of emergency.
"Syr"
"Is something wrong?"
"You are in charge of her, apart from May you are the person Riku trusts more than the others"
"I'll take care of her Mama Mia"
Mia nodded with a grateful smile and left the room.
Anya and Syr gave each other a look and just nodded for the cat girl to go out and leave Syr and Riku alone.
Syr grabbed a chair and took a seat on the side of the bed while holding Riku's hand.
Riku's body unconsciously closed her palm and Syr smiled with happiness at what had happened.
After all Syr saved her and she doesn't want to see her suffer.
