Chapter 110: Homesteading II
We continue to a section of the cleared woods that was made into a makeshift fighting pit where I saw M'rissi and Sofia fighting like devils.
With a few of my crew relaxing and enjoying the fight while on a break from their work.
I see them both covered in dirt, blood, and grime, from their fight.
M'rissi was able to get some distance from Sofia and switched to her bow and arrows to keep her at bay and push her into the defensive.
Sofia dodges the arrows she can while using her flames to block M'rissi's sight to keep her from being as accurate. Deflecting the arrows that make it through the inferno with the flat of her blade.
Locking them into what must have been one of many standstills they'd fought to while I've been gone.
"Kasia, what's going on? They seemed to be getting along fine when I left?" I ask her in confusion.
"Well... You see..." Kasia tries to say before averting her gaze as her cheeks flush.
"No! She will not let you have her Fluffy for 4 days!" M'rissi shouts sending an arrow towards Sofia which is deflected with a flourish of her sword.
"Com'on, Whiskers! You can't keep Silvy to yourself, we promised to share'em!" Sofia retorts pushing forward and switching to electricity to stun M'rissi long enough to bring her sword down on her shoulder.
"Mreow! And she will share, but she will get the 4 days with her Fluffy when she wins!" M'rissi shouts, throwing her bow at Sofia's face, distracting her long enough to pull out a dagger and tackle Sofia to the ground before holding the dagger against her throat.
"Ha! She wins! Fluffy is her's!" M'rissi shouts triumphantly at a dejected Sofia…
Before I notice a devilish smile on Sofia's face giving me a terrible premonition about what she's about to do.
And my gut feeling is proven right when I see Sofia firmly grab M'rissi's tail causing her to exclaim.
"Nyah~! What are you doing to her?!" M'rissi shouts before Sofia uses this opportunity to role over on top of M'rissi, knocking the dagger aside and pinning M'rissi to the ground.
"That is no fair! She had won! You cheated!" M'rissi pouts while glaring at Sofia who's straddling her waist.
"All's fair when making love during war, or however that saying goes? I won so Silvy is mine for 4 days, unless..." Sofia trails off before leaning down and whispering into M'rissi's ear, causing them to twitch furiously before a deep blush spreads across her face.
"G-get off of her!" M'rissi shouts pushing Sofia off of her and getting up to pick up her weapons before seeing me in the distance and dropping everything before running over to me and tackling me with a hug that nearly knocks me off my feet like the kids had done if I hadn't braced myself.
"Did you miss me, Kitten?" I ask wrapping my arms around her and giving her a twirl.
"N-no! Who would miss such an irresponsible-" M'rissi starts to stutter and deny her feelings before I lean over and kiss her deeply.
After a few moments, our lips parted and I say, "Well, I missed you."
"Oh, and what am I chopped liver?" Sofia says with a roll of her eyes as she walks up to us.
"Yes!" M'rissi shouts while glaring at her.
"No." I say, flicking M'rissi's forehead before wrapping my arm around Sofia and pulling her in for a kiss before she holds up a hand to block my lips.
"Ah, not so fast, Silvy. Did you bring me any presents to make it up to me?" Sofia asks cheekily.
"I didn't go on a sightseeing trip, I went to a small farming village, what gifts would I even get there? A cabbage?" I ask her sarcastically.
"I don't know, but I hope it's booze!" Sofia says with an excited smile.
"No, it's actually a dragon's skeleton." I tell her, causing the girls' eyes to widen in shock.
"What happened, Fluffy? Are you okay?" M'rissi asks in concern after she finishes rubbing her forehead.
"Yeah, I didn't expect you to slay me a dragon as a dowry." Sofia says with a flushed face.
"Everyone is okay, for the most part. Lokir actually got the killing blow and he also adopted two girls, who were orphaned in the dragon attack." I explain to them, ignoring Sofia's previous comment.
"Good for Loki, that's an impressive accomplishment." Sofia praises, while I'm unsure if that's her nickname for Lokir or if she just doesn't know his name.
"She is just glad her Fluffy came back home in one piece." M'rissi sighs while hugging me closer.
"Of course I did, nothing would keep me from my girls." I say giving them both a peck on the cheek, which Sofia doesn't avoid this time.
"Silvy, you charmer you." Sofia says leaning into our little group hug.
"Why of course, though speaking of my girls... What were you two fighting over earlier?" I ask pretending not to know.
"N-nothing!" M'rissi immediately denies it while averting her gaze.
"We were fighting over who gets you the 4th-" Sofia starts to spill the beans before M'rissi hastily covers her mouth with her hands.
"Nothing! She said we fought over nothing and it is nothing!" M'rissi says in a panic with her ears and tail twitching like crazy.
"Alright, whatever you say. Well, we should probably get back to work, our home isn't going to build itself after all." I say after noticing the audience to the fight finishing their food and heading back to their assigned jobs.
"Mmphmm." Sofia mumbles between M'rissi's fingers before M'rissi jumps back in shock.
"Why did you lick her?!" M'rissi shouts while wiping her hands.
"Because you taste delicious." Sofia quips with a wink while blowing M'rissi a kiss.
"Y-you evil temptress!" M'rissi retorts before pouting.
"Okay, enough playing around. Let's get to work so we can sleep under a real roof soon." I say dragging the two along to report to Lokir for any jobs we can do.
