Chapter 17: Remembering something vital!
"Lin Feng, I have something to tell you… Listen carefully"
Instructor Lu said as he looked at Itachi.
" What do you think of working for the pavilion? Unfortunately, those without a spiritual root are not permitted to enter, I understand this news might upset you but this is the reality of our world, some things are not meant to be "
Itachi looked at the instructor, however, he did not voice his thoughts. Once again he was reminded of the harsh reality that he can only rely on himself. Without a cultivation manual, his dreams of learning how to cultivate were void.
The elder looked at Itachi who was zoned out and assumed he was at a loss for words.
" Ling Feng, if you don't take this job I'm afraid the sect is not willing to shelter you, this way you'll have something to do, and will be able to serve the sect "
Hearing these words Itachi only smiled in response, but deep down he was disappointed.
Instructor Lu took note of Itachi's expression but did not say anything, he understood Itachi's feelings. However he was impressed, although Itachi smiled on the outside as though nothing was wrong, his true feelings could not escape the instructor's keen eyes.
Just when Instructor Lu thought Itachi would reject the offer, the next words that came out of Itachi's mouth surprised him.
" Instructor Lu, ill accept! "
Silence…
" Ohh? Very well Lin Feng! Stand in that corner up ahead, once I let the other recruits into the Ancestral book pavilion I will fill you in with the details "
Itachi nodded his head and then stepped away from the queue.
Within the span of a few minutes, Itachi had already schemed in his mind, on the surface, it may seem like Itachis's situation was dire, but It was the complete opposite.
" If I can't get into the pavilion right now so what? With this job offer I will be able to enter the pavilion as I please, not only will I have access to all the cultivation manuals, but ill be able to steal one that suits me " Itachi said inwardly as he closed his eyes and rested.
Although stealing was not something he was too keen on doing, the world he was currently in was too dangerous. Even with the little knowledge he had of this world, one thing he knew was, that those who had power ruled, and those who were weak perished!
Surviving was Itachi's top priority at this moment!
With these thoughts in mind, Itachi smiled and crossed his arms.
Whilst Itachi was going through his inner monologue, the queue he was in at this moment was bustling with activity, recruits were jumping up and down as they walked towards the large doors of the pavilion.
No one seemed to pay mind to Itachis's situation, most didn't even spare a single glance, except for Bai Xiao Chun.
" Brother… Even though your a mortal, ill protect you! "
Bai xiao Chun clenched his fists hard as he looked at Itachi once more and then walked into the pavilion doors.
With this, every recruit was now inside. Silence permeated the surroundings.
Only instructor Lu and Itachi were standing outside, waiting for the recruits to come back out.
Within the silence, instructor Lu was looking at Itachi with a side glance, Itachi stood there like a statue, arms crossed whilst his eyes were closed.
" Why is this kid so calm? It's almost as if he's a statue, if I didn't know he was standing there, I may not have even been able to sense him… The elders weren't wrong when they said this fellow had an interesting demeanour "
Whilst the elder was having these thoughts, Itachi was oblivious to all of it.
Right now Itachi was planning a way to safely steal a cultivation manual. The risk was high, he knew the humans here had boundless strength, a single error would result in him getting caught and most likely executed.
He knew this sect wasn't all happy and flowers, on the surface that's what it might seem like but Itachi had witnessed first-hand how Lee Mu Bai set up the wolf attack. By no means was this a righteous sect.
Itachi wanted to get the cultivation manual and then leave. With the manual, he would be able to cultivate and increase his strength.
He didn't have the time to play around with the nether sect, who knew what they were up to. Even though he initially wanted to stay here and grow stronger, he knew every minute spent here was a danger, it was like the ocean, on the surface it may seem calm but the deeper you go it lurks with danger!
Just when Itachi was coming to his conclusions, he suddenly remembered a crucial factor!
" Hold on a minute! "
Itachi's closed eyes suddenly jolted open and he gasped in surprise!
" The special cultivation package!! "
Itachi remembered that when he completed his mission when he joined the sect he was awarded a special cultivation package by the system!
Whatever was in this package cannot be simple!
Right now Itachi wanted to run back to his room and open the package! All of his problems might be solved depending on what was inside!
