Chapter 2: FRIEND
" I thought you were my friend," said Lucy as soon as she didn't find John Qin in his room
As John was walking towards the train station he decided to take a break by this huge old olive tree. Earlier today he had gone to the public Library and slipped into the library, there, he found the map of the US, and he ran his fingers through the map.
"How do I get to Cleveland," he thought
He had always had a feeling that he wanted to go to Cleveland when he was young, his mother used to go on trips to Cleveland and often say it was a fabulous place, but his mother left before she could take him to Cleveland.
John Qin yanked himself up, he had fallen asleep, realizing that he has been asleep for over 2 hours, he starts to run to the train station hoping to be able to reach it and get food before it was too late.
"Wait for me" Shouted John Qin as the train left without him
In the morning, John Qin realizes that he had not eaten real food in 24 hours, that's when he spots some young kids heading to a group of people who are gathered together with a big pot of food in the middle, at the looks of it, the people there are grouped into different sections, the black, the white and the colored, Yet none of them are willing to get any new visitors.
"I am so hungry," said John Qin as he walked down the track
"I wish I had a friend" he mumbled
He gently walked down the track hoping to find someone or something. John Qin wakes up in a strange home. He hears a woman's voice.
"Ooh, how hungry he must be," the woman said
"At the smell of something delicious," John yanks himself and finds a young woman with 2 children staring at him. One of them seems to be holding a strange device.
After breakfast John is left with the boy holding the strange device, he looks at John's size and can't seem to take his eyes of the device.
"What is that?" John Qin Asked
"What is what?" the boy responds
"The thing you are holding" Said John Qin
"It is a device" he responded
"O Ok" he stumbled wanting to know more
"Where are you from," he asked while the others appeared behind him
From childhood, John Qin had always been a good liar, he knew all the good liars and how to get him out of the trickiest situation.
"Aha," he thought
"I am from Cleveland," he said
"That lie was perfect." he thought
"Where are we going," he asked as they moved away in the car
"Home" they all responded at once.
As they moved with the van, they suddenly stopped near an old house
"What are we doing here?" John Qin asked
As they responded John mind had gone to something else
"Will they kill me," he thought
" Ok everyone, let's get off," the woman said
As they were unloading, a strong man with a long beard stepped out.
"Daddy," the children said at the same time
"So this is their dad's place," he thought as they went inside the house.
he sat down as the father glared at him, for John Qin, this was normal compared to the glaring that he got back in the orphanage for the cleaner and staff in the orphanage., the orphanage had always been a place that was poorly maintained and they had gotten two meals a day every day till he was adopted.
"We will be sleeping here tonight," the woman said sensing his worried face
"Oh ok," he sighted relieved
"Hey hey, what's your name?" Said the man near screaming
"John, John Qin" He stumbled
John Qin felt sorry for what he had done, he had escaped once again and this time, he took food with him.
"I wish I had a friend," he thought as he walked down the road
He had also visited the boy's room to find out more about the device before he left.
While walking down the road, he suddenly saw a headlight from a distant car, the car slowly started to stop slowly when they saw him, John Qin quickly Jumped behind the bush.
