Chapter 2: Chapter 2: [Harvest]
~Third POV~
A pretty waterlily in full bloom floats on an aqueduct in the town center of Kuroyuri. Ren, as a child, looks eagerly at it with a smile as his mother An Ren laughs lightly, "Hehehe... Why, hello, little Lie. Are we trying to catch a fish?"
Ren as a child smiled as he rushes over to his mother and showed what he brought to her happily, "I've found a flower on the water! Can we take it home and plant it in the garden please?!"
An shakes her head at this as this makes Ren looks down dejectedly and An rubs his head as she talked to him sweetly, "Oh no, sweetheart, that flower lives here. But I'll tell you what you can do. Take this Lien and go find something nice for your father's return. He's been hunting for quite some time. I bet that the journey's been very tiring, don't you?"
Changing his mood quickly Ren agrees to it happily as An speaks to him kindly, "Do you think you'll know what he wants?"
Being somewhat sassy with his mother Ren replied trying to be slick, "I think... he wants a water flower in the garden!"
With a chuckle escaping her voice she wonders Ren as to how they relate, "Why did you have to inherit my sass?"
She gives her son a playful nudge on his bottom as Ren turns away on his new mission to find a gift for his father. He crosses the planks that serve as a bridge over the aqueduct. An watches him go with a smile.
Kuroyuri shows a prosperous and peaceful town. Ren rushes up to a weapon stand as he asked curiously. "What can I buy with this?"
Young Blacksmith chuckling at Ren replies to him as he holds up two wooden toy weapons one is a sword, and the other is a hammer, "Hahaha… Well, something just your size."
Ren deflates in disappointment at being unable to buy a new weapon for his father. He next waits in line at a liquor merchant. However, the wine merchant gives him a bemused look, and with a sigh, shakes his head in the negative making Ren groan, a little frustrated.
He walks through the open town before stopping to look in a bakery window. There are several threats, including slices of lemon meringue pie, frosted cupcakes, actual cakes with frosted waterlilies atop them, and a shelf of kitten-shaped bread.
Ren is happily excited but turns when he hears a voice from a tall boy, "Hey, get back here!"
Ren looks around the corner of the bakery, following the sound of a group of kids laughing and mocking. Three boys stand in a semicircle around a dirty-looking girl who is crouched on the ground and clutching a loaf of bread. It's young Nora Valkyrie.
"Where'd you get that bread? I didn't see you pay for it, thief!"
"No, look, it's all moldy!"
"I think she got it from the trash!"
One of the boys began reaching out for the bread that is guarded by Nora but…
*Chomp*
Nora bites his finger before he can touch the bread as the boy cried in pain, "Ah! She bit me!"
Tall Boy looks at Medium Boy's hand in horror before Medium Boy pushes Nora backward onto the ground. Nora whimpers for a second but gets up and grabs her bread off the ground. She takes a few more steps back before crouching away again.
Ren watches, taking a few uncertain steps forward as the three boys began to mock Nora about her situation.
"She's dressed all weird!"
"I bet she's abandoned! Like a dog or something!"
"Does that mean I have rabies?"
All three chuckle meanly. Nora sees Ren getting closer and looks at him with big, blinking eyes. The bullies see her focus has changed to behind them and they turn to look. Ren panics at having their focus and he turns to run but….
"Hey what are you brats doing?"
Before Ren could bump into the legs of his father, Li Ren Soul finally made his appearance as Nora and the kids looked fearfully at him as he glares at them then spoke, "Ok listen here punks. The first rule of being a gentleman is not to push girls down and you did just that? Do that again and I interfere got it?"
The response was when the boys scrammed immediately after that making Soul sigh out his breath as he thinks to himself, 'Great so something like this is a thing in this world. So long it's not those Chinese novel fics with Master or You Die shit then I'll be fine. Now then…'
Glancing at Nora she flinches at Soul as he sighs at this taking out some of his Lien and giving it to her with confusion apparent but didn't hesitate to take it. Li the father of Ren looked at this with a bemused look as he spoke out loud with an intrigued expression, "Well seems like the resident Atlesian here does have a heart. Heh. And here I thought those people are ice cold with their hearts."
Soul took notice of Ren and Li as he asked the older adult in a respectful tone to the father of Ren, "Excuse me, sir. Would you happen to know where the bakery is at? I happen to need to pay for that girl's bread seeing it might cause some problems later on. Do you happen to know where it is exactly?"
Listening to Soul's words he nodded and pointed him in the direction of where the Bakery in Kuroyuri was as he nodded his head in thanks before leaving.
Li puts his hand on his son's shoulder and lowers to one knee as he gives him some life lessons for him, "Sometimes the worst action to take... is taking no action at all. Go home. I need to speak with the mayor."

~Soul POV~
Certainly, that was an interesting man who seems to be a hunter with how he looked and carries himself. Probably one of the guardians of this against something it seems?
Maybe mythical animals perhaps?
Whatever the case may be for now though I would need some time to get used to this village… Kuroyuri, as it calls itself but also some maps of the general area, would be nice as well. Entering inside the bakery I already made a quick payment of what Nora stole from him as he looked at me oddly.
Raising my eyebrow at that I began to ask with a bemused expression on my face, "What? Is it something I did sir?"
Next was a laughful response to my question as he asked me suspiciously about my character and I guess my race it seems, "Hahaha… sorry it's just that… well I didn't expect the cold hard man like you would care. I mean aren't most Atlesian cold-hearted bastards you know?"
Uh…
Excuse me?
Blinking at this I decided to ignore that comment, but it did give me the info about me being a cold-hearted bastard from what the baker told me. I guess that explains the odd glances I got from the villagers.
Although the term he called me was named Atlesian… is it another race that people call each other or more of slur words being thrown around. Crap I hate having lacking knowledge of anything.
Ignoring the Baker words that were the old host me that did that not the new soul in his body!
*Beep*
Ahh… those are words of blessing mission completion I hear?
[Mission: Help Nora Valkyrie (Complete)
Description: Help out the young Nora Valkyrie by paying for the bread she stole from the bakery as she is someone from the poor refuge group in the area.
Rewards: [Harvest], 200 Lien, and Pistol.]
[Rewards will be handed over.]
Hearing this as I left, I see that the pistol was summoned as it looks like a revolver model with size bullet rounds at the ready with gunpower and everything of the sorts. At least I have a weapon now shame I only have six shots though but not much to fess over.
While I was returning to my home, I guess I began to look at the latest stand I got from this small adventure [Harvest].

Harvest is a long-range colony Stand one can underestimate because of its innocuous appearance and its basic power. However, the number of units coupled with their ability to still punch into the flesh means that Harvest can easily overwhelm foes in one-on-one fights.
Harvest possesses the following basic characteristics:
Persistence: Each of Harvest's 500 units can be destroyed with ease, but with little to no effect on the Stand User, as the damage is divided by 500. It makes the Stand User more resilient than average in a fight.
Strength in Numbers: An individual unit of Harvest is fairly weak, although its fists have enough power to punch a correspondingly small hole through human flesh. In combat, Harvest will swarm someone and attack weak points like the eye, in addition, Harvest's units are quite fast, able to outpace an athletic runner.
Harvest has an extremely large range, with its units being able to move through the entirety of Towns without any issue. Each Harvest possesses a needle that can inject any liquid directly into his opponents' bloodstream.]

What the literal fuck…
So basically, one of those things has enough power to open up a small hole through the human body? Now that is one good Stand to have especially in a one-on-one fight but most importantly, I could use this in different ways.
For example, in the descriptions, it said it has the number to search through towns with ease this will surely help me in the long run of things in collecting info. And most importantly my Lien issues of running out at least for a while in populated areas.

As I got to my small home, I began to see firsthand with excitement getting a stand as I called upon its name, "Come forth my Stand [Harvest]!"
Seeing a golden light I then see the little fella eh… fellas all appear. All 500 of them…
"Harvest" takes the form of small, oval-shaped, insect-like creatures with four articulated arms and two legs; three fingers on their hands; with large appendages at their posteriors, resembling a bee's abdomen. As Harvest's design is based on worker bees.
Their entire bodies are patterned by stark, even horizontal stripes alternating between black and a light color. Their faces act as pockets behind which they store whatever they carry. They have a hole on their foreheads that can produce a needle to inject liquids. Their eyes are semicircular, in line with blocky noses.
"Found it!"
"Found it!"
"Hee hee!"
"Hee hee!"
Well looks like I have a literal army of bee workers in my home time to make some use of them and find out more of this world has to offer. Now then it's time for me to get to work.
