Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Ginryu quietly followed the man as they walked away from the mountain. He was filled with curiosity, wondering if the mountain had already begun to be used as a training ground for young demon slayers.

However, he quickly curbed his curiosity, knowing that the outcome of his discussion with the Ubuyashiki clan would determine if they would become allies or enemies.

"Hush little ones," Ginryu whispered, trying to silence the cubs in the bag that kept trying to get out. Time trickled by as they walked in silence, and soon they arrived at a magnificent mansion late in the evening.

The mansion was surrounded by wisteria trees, their blossoms illuminated by the moonlight, creating a beautiful and calming sight.

With his enhanced senses, Ginryu could feel the presence of several strong individuals inside the mansion.

Although they were formidable by human standards, Ginryu paid no mind to their strength and confidently entered the mansion. He knew he could easily make it out if need be.

Upon entering, he was led to a room where he patiently waited for a representative of the Ubuyashiki clan to appear.

It didn't take long before a figure wearing a hat and a veil covering their face entered the room. The mysterious figure was accompanied by seven armed men, all carrying swords.

'Hmm, I didn't expect this. Could it be that they already know about me?' Ginryu pondered to himself.

The presence of the guards indicated that their lord was meeting a stranger, and they were determined to protect him.

However, there seemed to be an air of caution and familiarity among them, as if they were aware of his capabilities.

As everyone was settled, Ubuyashiki Yasuo, the current leader of the Ubuyashiki clan, introduced himself.

Looking at Ginryu, he urged him to provide his name as well. "I am Ginryu, just Ginryu," he replied, choosing to use his Japanese name while in Japan.

The system had provided him with another name, but it felt more appropriate to keep it hidden, especially since he couldn't even access the full name within the system.

Yasuo mused for a moment before asking, "So, what brings someone like you to us?"

Ginryu couldn't help but notice the surprise and murmurs among the armed men upon seeing his features.

"How is it that you're aware of me?" Ginryu inquired, genuinely puzzled. "I haven't been active much in the last 500 plus years. So, how did my presence become known to you?"

To his surprise, Yasuo hinted at a story that went back 553 years. Sensing the length of the tale, Ginryu requested him to keep it brief, not wanting to delve into a lengthy history lesson.

"Such disrespect to Yasuo-sama! I should teach you your place," one of the armed men boldly exclaimed, making his intention clear.

However, Ginryu remained composed and countered, "A hotheaded young man, indeed. But be warned, drawing your weapon will only lead to regret." Subtly releasing his aura, Ginryu created an intense heaviness in the air, causing the other armed men to gather protectively around Yasuo.

Yasuo, sensing the tension, quickly intervened. "Enough!" he yelled, commanding them to cease their actions.

"Please forgive him. He is still quite young," Yasuo explained, trying to diffuse the situation and show understanding towards Ginryu.

"I understand. Please continue," Ginryu calmly replied, hoping to steer the conversation back to its original course.

He was eager to learn the reason behind his unexpected recognition and establish a clearer understanding with the Ubuyashiki clan.

"Ginji, please go wait outside," Yasuo instructed the young man. It was the same man who had brought Ginryu to the mansion.

"Yes, Yasuo-sama," Ginji replied before proceeding to exit the room while glaring at Ginryu.

"Now, as I was saying," Yasuo continued, "The clan members of that time arrived at your village while tracking Muzan. They stumbled upon some survivors from the village, whom they took under their wing. It was from these survivors that our clan learned what had happened that day." Yasuo paused, catching his breath. It seemed like he was sick.

"After learning about the tragedy in the village, a search was conducted in the area, but nothing could be found. Detailed records of your features were kept," Yasuo further explained.

"I see," Ginryu replied, piecing it together in his mind.

'So they didn't put surveillance around the mountain; otherwise, they should have known about Genzo. That means all they know is from what the survivors told them,' Ginryu surmised.

"Now that this has been explained, what brings you here, and how did you learn about us?" Yasuo asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Well, I learned about you from hunting demons here and there, and I came here to be your ally," Ginryu replied immediately. He had anticipated this question and prepared an answer.

"The demons know we are here," the other men in the room whispered among themselves.

"I mean, it isn't hard to find you guys if the demons put in some effort," Ginryu stated matter-of-factly.

It wasn't easy, but it also wasn't particularly hard. The demons could capture a weak demon slayer and torture them for information.

However, given Muzan's personality, he didn't really care about the current demon slayers, or he would have wiped them out long ago.

"I see. I can understand why you would want to ally with us, but what is to say that you aren't a creature like Muzan?" Yasuo questioned, his suspicion evident.

He could already think of several reasons why Ginryu would want to join them. He was aware that Ginryu was strong enough to defeat Muzan, as documented in the clan's records.

So it wasn't difficult for him to make a few educated guesses as to what Ginryu desired.

"Well, for one, I haven't killed any of you yet. I don't particularly find human flesh appetizing, and Muzan is my enemy. Is that enough?" Ginryu replied, his voice full of conviction.

"I see," Yasuo replied, contemplating some things. "Can you excuse us for a while to think things through? A servant will guide you to a room."

"I don't mind. I have already made my intentions known," Ginryu responded calmly.

Soon, a servant arrived, and Ginryu was escorted to a bedroom. The cubs had already settled in for the night, so they didn't cause any problems.

Meanwhile, back in the meeting room, an argument ensued.

"Yasuo-sama, I can't fathom wanting to ally with that monster," one of the armed men interjected.

"I suggest we kill that monster before it grows to become another Muzan," another suggested.

"And how do you propose we kill him? He can walk under the sun, meaning a Nichirin blade won't work. It doesn't seem like the Wisteria flowers affect him either. Additionally, he defeated Muzan once," another countered.

As the debate grew heated, Yasuo contemplated the situation. The decision to trust Ginryu or not weighed heavily on his shoulders.

The fate of their clan was at stake, and they couldn't afford to make a mistake. They needed to find a way to verify Ginryu's intentions and prevent another Muzan-like threat from emerging.

The room fell into a tense silence as Yasuo weighed the arguments and the risks. He knew that a hasty decision could lead to dire consequences, but he also understood the potential benefits of having Ginryu as an ally.
