Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Success
I soon arrived at the scene and saw Bakugo being covered in slime from the villain. Bakugo tried to resist and break free as light explosions began to emit from hands. However, it never worked as the villain slime was too strong. Other heroes at the scene tried to help him and fight the villain but they didn't have enough power to hurt the villain. Seeing this hopeless scene, I stayed near the back and waited for All Might to show up so I can make my move.
Looking at the hopeless Bakugo, I knew that his time was almost up. I continue to observe my surroundings as I saw the hero mount lady struggle to make an entrance as she was stuck. Most heroes at the scene were frustrated at their inability to save the Bakugo and tried to suppress the fires and destruction of the scene while keeping the civilians at a safe distance. Still not seeing any signs of All Might, I looked at the scene again and saw Bakugo's eyes that seemed to be crying out. Ah shit, I gotta go anyways and dashed out of the crowd and head towards Bakugo and the villain.
All though Bakugo is also moody and short tempered, I'm not really the type of person to watch someone innocent die. More importantly, it was my fault for following the plot and caused that villain to get away even though I knew it would happen, I can't let a person die because of me.
As I ran out I was also running a bit rushed and looked around me if I could use something as a weapon to give Bakugo some chance to breathe. I looked around and saw several pipes on ground. Still running I finally saw an arm sized pipe that I quickly picked up and threw it as it hit the eye of the villain slime.
Getting the chance to breathe again, Bakugo asked in frustration, " Why are you here?"
I tried to claw my way through to get him but the slime kept getting away as I yelled out, " I couldn't help it. Even though we had our differences... you looked like you were asking for help!"
This caused Bakugo to become even more frustrated as he started to lose his consciousness and his eyes began to roll back. Having experienced the suffocation himself he couldn't deny that it was a feeling he did not want to through again.
Just as these thoughts were going through my head. A huge slime swing was coming from above. I cursed as I saw this coming and yet I didn't prepare enough. Since integrating myself with Izuku after I met All Might I have been becoming emotional and forgot about what would happen if things didn't go as planned. After all in the Anime All Might was already here before Izuku arrived at the scene. Maybe I came a little early. But just as that thought came by and I braced for the attack, All Might appeared and blocked the blow.
" I am really pathetic. Even though I admonished you, I wasn't putting what I said into practice." All might ripped the slime that wrapped around his wrist and continued, " Pros are always risking their lives!" He leaned forward as he grabbed Bakugo and sent out fist full of power and said, " Detroit Smash!" Which caused a power wind blow upwards which departed the clouds high in the sky.
Watching this scene was exactly why I had decided to follow some parts of the plot and deny the use of another quirk. This strength alone is all I need so far live in this world. Furthermore, it comes with another set of few quirks too and I felt like I don't really need another over powered quirk even if I could hide it.
I fell back as I watched the sun shine down and the crowd went wild over All Might's power. After this I was quickly reprimanded by my foolishness of rushing out to save Bakugo and after that I went home with happiness that I hid in my heart. So far so good, going just as planned.
Walking home, I soon heard Bakugo coming behind me and the scene followed the cannon of the anime. I wanted to tell Bakugo that he owed me one for saving his ass but All Might is gonna show up any minute now so he decided to go along with Bakugo's claims of not being saved. I turned around and saw All Might suddenly show up.
" Young man. I come with thanks, a correction, and a suggestion. If you hadn't been there... If you hadn't told me about your life... I would've turned into a guy in a bodysuit who was all talk."
I cued in just as planned and said, " That's not true, it was my fault to begin with. If I hadn't stuck to you and got in the way of your work, and I said all those impertinent things even though I'm quirkless."
" It was because of you who was quirkless at the scene that acted that I was able to act. Top heroes have stories about them in their school days. Most of the stories have one thing in common: Their bodies moved before they had a chance to think. That was true for you too right."
I nodded my head as I continued to listen. Although I had tried to come up with ways to cried like Izuku, I am not emotional as him and cry every time I get emotional.
All might continued, " Listen, young man. You need to decide whether or not you will accept my power!"
" What do you mean? All might is that really possible? I thought that only parents can pass down their quirks through birth."
" I had always avoided questions about my quirk because of its special qualities. The truth is my quirk is a quirk that can be passed down to people. I am crowned with "One for All". And now it is your turn. One person cultivates it and passes it down onto the next."
I continued to look at All Might and ask, " Why me. It is such a wonderful quirk and I am just a quirkless kid."
" I have been looking for a successor. And then, I thought it would be all right for you to inherit it... You a quirkless boy who went out of your way to help a helpless friend... well it's up to you though."
I saw All Might trying to brush it under the rug as if it wasn't that important of the information to know about him and nodded my head without hesitation. " I'll do it."
" An immediate reply. That's what I thought you would say." All Might then looked at my body and tilted his head as he pondered. I gulped nervously as I had been training my body this whole time so that I can learn how to use the quirk right away instead of spending 10 months on building up my muscle. Hopefully it was enough. All might began looking all around me and scanning my body. To be honest it felt a little weird being checked out by this guy, but I just let it happen as I asked, " Is something wrong All Might?"
All Might continued for a few more seconds and put out his thumb as he said, " Okay. It looks like you can barely handle this power that has accumulated. From what I can see you can only handle 5% of the quirk. I want to see make sure that you are ready so come with me first."
All Might quickly grabbed me and we soon arrived at the beach that was filled endlessly with trash. " You want to enter U.A. high school right? You have 10 months to clean up this beach. Once you are able to clean up this beach then I will give you One for All. After all, what I said before about being a quirkless hero is too dangerous"
I nodded my head as I understood. Looks like there is going to be a slight delay. Anyways I was looking forward to do this anyways because as there are several different objects with sizes and weights, it will allow me to strengthen every part of my body and buff up a little. I had only done small weights up till now and focused on body weight training. After I finish this training and probably finish before the 10 months are up, I can probably handle more power of the quirk and already be at a high standing point. After all 5% seems to be already on the level of most of the class 1A students that I will meet in the near future. 10% will make me stronger than the current Bakugo. So I didn't mind doing this.
As I continue to plan my beach clean up duty, All Might interrupted, " You start early tomorrow morning. Go home and get some rest."
