Chapter 2: Who is my father?

Since the day that snake lady attacked me, I have been curious to know who my father may be as many questions were raised when I remembered my now dead teacher's words.

'Hmm, she said I was the son of someone, and it shouldn't be possible.' Looks like I'm a taboo baby. Heh, who cares?'

My suspicions led me to a book of mythology. The book was in a language that differentiated from English and Japanese, so I shouldn't have been able to read it, especially with my current condition of 'dyslexia.'

But that's the weird thing. Not only did I subconsciously know every word I read, but I also knew its meaning. I also knew this language slang, ext.

What my teacher turned into was from Greek mythology, which made me curious about that mythology.

'If she's from some pantheon, there's more chance, and plenty of strong opponents are waiting to face defeat.' My excitement is palpable as I flip through the pages.

After reading the first three pages, I assumed my father was Uranus but quickly wrote that off when I saw that he got 'killed' by his son Kronos and then Kronos ate his freaking kids and then got killed by his youngest.

The youngest child of Kronos is Zeus—God of thunder and order, among many other things. According to the books, he's the king of gods and quite the horn dog.

"Disgusting..." I can't help but mutter as I continue reading. This guy is 100% my father, considering my electrical origins and unnatural hair color in this world.

Another thing that confirmed this was my father was the fact that he would fuck anything. Having the most children in the pantheon.

I have a few half-siblings among the 'Olympians': Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, Ares, and Hermes.

At that revelation, a burst of excitement overtakes me. For beings of such titles must be strong, right?

What I am considered a 'demigod,' a being half mortal half God. We lack any particular divinity of our own. We are usually inheriting it from our godly parents. Once we turn 12, our scent goes haywire. That's why my mother moved to New York when I was first born.

Near New York on Road Island is Camp Half-Blood, where demigods like me go for 'safety' from the monsters. Those words made me scowl at the cowardice of these other half-gods.

"Pathetic. Beings that are the children of God's running to a camp to avoid fighting trash..." I feel my electricity crackling in frustration before I take a deep breath and calm down.

I remember that demigods have families. And if the scent constantly brings monsters in their wake, how would they defend their family and themselves? That's just dumb.

Though I don't love this life's mother much like the last, I would be furious if something happened to her on my watch. She's the second most tolerable existence I have ever met.

'Heh, I will go to this Camp when I'm 12 for some entertainment. According to the book, demigods frequently go on 'quests' where many die or become heroes.

'For now, I will train and abide by my time until the day comes when I will be 12.' I decided not to immediately leave Camp for the sake of my mother, as I can still remember her cries at night and frequent night terrors of her 'baby boy' Leaving her.

[6 years later]

(Kashimo) {unknown}

I growl in anger as I curse my stupidity. I asked my mother, who my father wanted to confirm my theory with a few years back.

My ignorance has gotten us into this situation. Once a demigod finds out their origins, their scent becomes more robust.

The moment my mother begrudgingly confirmed who my father was, all things went to hell. A few one-eyed monsters barged in through a wall in our house with their disgusting maws drooling.

With the specially crafted pole, my mother gifted me for my birthday. I dispatched them with absolute ease. They weren't even capable of landing a blow.

After that, my mother panicked and dragged me to her sports car before driving off to Road Island.

She kept muttering incomprehensible things, and tears streaked down her eyes as she drove 130 miles per hour.

After about an hour and a half of driving, it mysteriously started to rain and thunder as our car flipped. I managed to protect my mother from the brunt of the crash but messed up my shoulder while doing so.

And that's where I currently find myself—standing in front of me as large as a semi-truck. A big lava dog glares at me hatefully as the earth seems to want to swallow me.

Behind me is the unconscious form of my poor mother as I flourish my pole. A look of focus on my face as I stare down our attacker.

'This thing a hell hound from those books. I shouldn't underestimate it. These things are pretty strong, maybe grade 2 or 1.' I feel the earth shake as if a revelation has happened as the sky rumbles in fury at the planet.

'This isn't natural. What's going on?' I grimace as I barely keep my footing, and the earth and sky seem to argue.

Getting into a ready position, the hellhound charges me as I throw out an intense lightning aimed at its forehead.

The beast yanks its head to the right and dodges my bolt, but that's what I expected, more or less. I'm already at eye level when its head is finished with its tilt.

Grinning despite the situation and natural disaster I find myself in; I land a bash of my pole right in the monster's maw as its head tilts slightly before I growl and swipes blindly at me.

'If I were anyone lesser, I would've been skewered here. Unfortunately...' my grin widens even more. I twist my pole with lightning-enhanced speed, blocking the paw swipe.

The momentum of the blow sends me flying, but I flip three times before landing gracefully.

I can't help but let out laughter of excitement as the creature growls at me. The earth continues to rumble, and thunder and rainfall more violently as a dribble of brood drips down my upper lip from where its claw grazed me.

Licking the blood, I feel my heart beat in excitement as I speak to the beast.

"Make this interesting, will you? I'm in the mood for a great fight!" I let out a yell as my electricity surged. Covering my whole body in an aura of purple as my already wide grin widens even more.

The creature seems to catch my words as it growls, and the magma on its skin begins bubbling. We both dash to each other simultaneously.

'Its skin is as tough as metal, and its speed would be impossible to match without using electricity to enhance my movements. So, it has to have a weak point.

I observe its features as I leap to meet the creature's head. My pole could be better suited for piercing tough hides as it is built for brutal, blunt damage.'

I observe its beastly features as my eyes widen. A simple way to beat it is to aim for the eyes, as that is its only exploitable weakness. Or I could use my superior speed to run away with my mother.

'But that's how losers think..." I laugh heartily as I land on the beast's snout, avoiding its attempting bite.

Standing on the hellhound's nose, I stomp down with an electricity full kick, making it howl in agony as it shakes its head rapidly, throwing me off.

Smiling at my opponent's pain, I notice a significant portion of it missing. It doesn't seem to bleed anything as I stop shaking, and it glares at me with hate.

It opens its mouth, and something that nearly caught me off guard happens. It spews lava at me with deadly accuracy.

Using all the muscles in my body, I barely start a run as I dash with thunder, enhancing my movements. Moving at 1/4th the speed I originally could in my past.

Laughing heartily as the monster's magma breath continues to near miss me, I suddenly stop running around it and dash forward with my newly acquired speed.

I catch the hellhound with its mouth open as I charge up the most potent attack I have made in this life. I am shooting a bolt of pure blue electricity straight down its throat, different from my usual purple, as the beast's stomach bloats before it explodes in a fire of flesh and gold dust.

Breathing somewhat heavily, I gasped repeatedly as the exciting fight ended.

The earth seems even more pissed at my victory, and the rumbling gets so hard I'm sure I would've fallen if it wasn't for my near century of experience.

Not wasting any time, I grab my mother and dash off. It doesn't take me long to find a shelter for her. There's a bus stop close to here.

I grab her pen and rip off a piece of my clothing as I write a sentence, 'Go home. I'm safe, see you soon.' smiling at my handiwork, I dash off towards 'Camp half-blood I near a hill in 10 minutes with the wind seeming to enhance my speed.

As I run up the hill, I pass a small tree. I feel a deep connection with it as if we are somehow related, but I ignore it as I've met many people.

A bunch of varying kids in orange t-shirts, along with a centaur leading them as I stare at them from my perch on a tree.

"Another demigod? So you have been causing all of this commotion?" The centaur speaks to me as I leap down the tree.

"I was attacked by a lava dog thing sometime back after my mother drove us here desperately. She told me to come here for safety." I lie as quickly as breathing. But it's not a complete lie. I notice some of the light blond-haired kids nod at my words.

'Looks like my theory was correct.' Once I got to Camp, I would run into some of my nieces and nephews from my brother Apollo. Who is the God of archery, the sun, and truth? I assumed correctly that they would have some minor ability to tell if one is lying.

But of course, since they are mere half-gods, it won't be a perfect ability. So I told some truth with some lies in the midst of it to trick their sense of lying and truth. They believe me since they think I'm some ignorant new demi God.

Looking over at the light blond-haired kids who nod, the centaur also nods. "I see. Well, my name is Chiron. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood...?" He leaves an invitation for me to introduce myself. I smile slightly.

"Kennedy Walker." I walk over and shake the man's hand as he gestures for me to follow.

"Get Kennedy some ambrosia, will you?" Chiron tells one of my nieces as she nods and heads to get me a drink of the gods.

'I wonder how they will react when they find out who my father is...' I smirk as I follow along
