Chapter 1: Prologue, (1/2)

The year was 2200 on the planet Earth. The New year was approaching in a few weeks when the incident occurred. Society came to a collapse. And so, nations across the globe had spent innumerable resources in ensuring their own securities. Ties were cut, alliances were dissolved and international trade was forced to come to a halt. The world had entered a state of pandemonium.

The first nation to have their government regain a foothold was the United States of America. They then worked together with Canada to find solutions for a long-lasting period of 10 years.

Their partnership helped to encourage the rest of the world. And it didn't take too long for humanity to rebuild their foundations and start a new society. New countries were formed, several perished and new forms of governments were introduced.

Along with these new changes a new international body had to be formed. The United Nations was dissolved and replaced with the Unified Global states, (UGS). With this new international body acting at the forefront the world tried to confront the issue that caused the societal collapse.

The appearance of superpowers.

Flying several thousand feet above the Pacific Ocean was a large passenger airplane flying at a comfortable speed of Mach 2. The aircraft was the property of a French airline and had left from Australia on its way to LA. There were about 400 passengers with the majority being from the middle class.

Sitting within the cabin of economy class was a woman of a young age. She was currently staring at her phone reading a message with close attention. Her short black hair was tied in a neat bun and held in place with a red ladybug hairpin. She was wearing black framed glasses with thick lens and quite a bit of makeup to try hide her acne.

Her clothes were cheap and simple with almost no brand logo to be seen. She wore a plain black hoodie with baggy jeans and simple sneakers. All in all, her appearance was the sort that could be easily ignored but never missed. She repeatedly typed message after message on her phone as the sun set in the distance.

It was such a beautiful view especially from such a high place and yet the woman paid no heed. She instead began humming to a song from her headphones.

{Any moment now...}

Suddenly the sound of falling items could be heard from the business class cabin ahead. Some people bothered themselves to take a peek while others simply ignored. After what was some time, the sounds could be heard again and they grew in intensity over time.

Some of the elderly passengers became concerned and talked in whispers before the curtain separating the cabins was pulled aside with flourish.

Standing by the entrance was a tall well-built man. He wore casual clothes of black and a cigarette was wedged between his lips. He looked to be of Arabic origin but this wasn't what the passengers were focused on.

What they focused on was the sight of the Business class cabin ahead. Standing in the middle of the path was a smoky grey wolf. Its amber hollow eyes left deep imprints within the hearts of the passengers. By the paws of the wolf was a partially eaten child. His wide-open eyes had already glazed over and blood flowed from his lips like a stream.

Screams rang throughout the cabin as people began vomiting their meals and chaos ensued. Crying was heard and people fainted but despite all this there was still no sort of movement from the Arabic man.

The rest of the business class cabin was completely covered in blood splatters and dismantled body limbs. About five of the smoky grey wolves were feasting upon the unfortunate souls and the calmness of the Arabic man didn't help soothe people's fears. Instead, he simply held the cigarette in his hand and stared at the passengers with a frightening smile plastered on his face.

"I really was expecting at least one evolved and yet there's none. Rather audacious, isn't it?"

His accent was thick and his body posture suggested nothing but pleasure. His eyes searched all over the cabin, relinquishing in the despair of the passengers. However, his smile disappeared once he saw an individual seated at the back of the cabin. It was a young woman with rather thick glasses. Her makeup was clearly visible, even from where he stood.

She showed no sign of mental disturbance at the sight of the chaos he had caused. She instead stared back at him with intense indifference. The eyes were pale, if not appearing just as hollow as that of his wolves. The man felt a buildup of rage at the lack of reaction and before he could stop himself; he walked towards the young woman. His leather strap shoes sank into the carpeting with each step until he finally reached the woman's row.

With his height, he looked down at her, and it partially covered his face in a shadow.

"You're different, aren't you...?"

The woman made no response other than taking off her headphones and sliding her phone into her jean pocket. Her indifference left the man with a bitter taste in his mouth and so, with no more words, he grabbed the woman by her jacket.

"You're irritating to look at. My wolves can do better justice to your body than you have."

And so, with nothing else, he pulled her out of her chair with ease. Her seatbelt snapped and struck the window with force. The man placed her on his shoulder before walking towards the business class cabin.

Passengers stared at the sight with horror. Several were crying while others laughed in hysteria as the powerful smell of blood filled their cabin. Eventually, the man stood at the entrance to the business class cabin and the wolves reacted to his presence by standing at attention. Their fur was made of smoky grey gas that left an impression of fear on anyone that looked at them.

When the man entered the cabin, he tossed the woman onto the floor and she hit the partially eaten corpse of another passenger. However, when the man looked for any new reaction, the woman was still staring at him with indifference, if not simple disappointment.

"FUCKING CUNT SHOW SOME DAMN EMOTION OR SOMETHING!"

He aggressively waved his hand and turned back to the economy class cabin; he had given his wolves permission to treat the woman as their toy. The wolves themselves growled low as they leisurely moved towards the unmoving woman.

"Why isn't she moving..."

"SHE'LL DIE!!"

"Allah help us..."

Passengers stared at the woman with rapt attention as they feared her fate. Eventually, one wolf stood over her with a dominating glare in its hollow eyes. It bared its fangs and bit her neck with ferocity. Blood spewed forth and coated the nearby seats. The woman made no struggle but let the wolf tear apart her neck.

"Emotionless to the end... you fail as a human, it seems."

Everybody stared as the wolves pounced on the woman and devoured her in aggressive bites. However, after some time, their movements came to a sudden halt. Their bloodied fangs stopped their relentless bites as the wolves felt an unknown fear well up within them.

The man felt it as well as he suddenly turned with wide eyes. Unfortunately, it was too late. His wolves howled in agony as metal blades tore apart their bodies. The blades pierced through them and spurted forth from within them. It took a horrifying 15 seconds before they dropped dead onto the carpeting, their bodies pierced by countless blades.

"H-HOW!!"

"This is boring..."

Suddenly, a corpse got up with its limbs haphazardly swinging. It was a different person of even younger age, her body visibly regenerated, which caused many disturbances amongst her audience. Her eyes were just as hollow as those of the young woman from earlier.

"WHO ARE YOU!?!"
