Chapter 16: Chapter 16: And The Winner Is...
After a minute passed by, the attack finally came to an end. Ken and everyone stood there staring at Cra it looked like he'd just been to hell and back after that attack. He didn't move a single muscle after the attack was over. Still, he stood there looking up at the clear blue sky without moving.
Zad couldn't bear to see a sight like this anymore and looked at Ken saying.
"Ken... is he de-"
Before Zad could finish that sentence, Ken cut him off.
"Of course not, I'm surprised that he managed to survive after that attack. It's better for him to not move his body at all right now."
Just like that, another minute passed by, and his finger twitched slightly. His body slowly fell forward, but Ken expected that and lunged forward to make sure he didn't suffer any more damage from falling. It was the least he could do after dealing that much damage.
Ken turned around looking at the innkeeper and said
"Does this village have a healer? His wounds most likely won't heal that well without one since he's out of mana."
"There should be one on the other side of the village will you take him?"
"Looks like I don't have much of an option here but to take him."
Two people that looked like your average adventurers stepped out of the crowd. They both seemed quite young and wore rusty silver armour. Approaching Ken in calm manner one of them bowed and said
"My name is Elaine, and this is Bryan, we're companions of Cra. We'll take over from here if that's alright with you."
Ken looked at the two questioning whether they were telling the truth or not but had no time to think about it since they would have no reason to lie. Ken backed off as Elaine and Bryan picked up Cra and put his arms over their shoulders. They asked the innkeeper for directions, and before they took off Elaine turned her head looking at Ken and said
"I thank you for not holding back against him. I'm sure he was able to learn a lot from this encounter."
Ken watched them leave without saying a single word back. Everyone else that was witnessing the fight started to disperse, the only people that remained at the scene were Ken, Zad and the innkeeper. Ken walked inside of the inn while saying something.
"We have a lot to discuss now innkeeper. Let's talk inside."
Zad and the innkeeper followed behind Ken and entered the inn they sat spread out from each other. No one else was here due to it being too late. The innkeeper decided to speak first.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I'm the innkeeper for this village, and also a former adventurer, my name is Arthur."
Zad became ecstatic after hearing that Arthur was a former adventurer, but it also explained how he knew so much about Ken's fight.
"Does that mean you've been all around the world!"
"I guess I have been to a lot of places, but you're not here for that, are you. You want information on the troll."
Ken smiled and said
"Don't like to talk about your past much? You've got me intrigued. If you don't mind, I'd like to hear your story."
"I'll tell you some of it, but don't expect much."
