Chapter 3: Immortality
I'm currently in the midst of a scientific breakthrough, as long as the experiment is a success then my name will resound all over the world.
My experiment is the mixing of two components that might result in the creation of an immortality potion.
The first component being mercury, mercury has a long history with immortality, the most famous record of mercury, is given to the man who feared death China's first emperor qin shi haung.
Archaeologists and historians already had some idea that Qin Shi Huang was obsessed with immortality. According to Chemistry World, the emperor was thought to have consumed cinnabar (or mercury sulfide) in the hopes it would prolong his life. As scientists know now, mercury is poisonous
The man was tricked into consuming mercury sulfide, how did they trick such an amazing and strong emperor who unified the entirety of china.
he died from Chinese alchemical elixir poisoning due to ingesting mercury pills, made by his alchemists and court physicians, believing it to be an elixir of immortality
They tricked him into believing that he could gain immortality from some pill.
But the thing is that mercury does not have some life prolonging effects given to the one who consumes it.
But if mixed with component number 2, that ideal that qin shi huang chased will become a reality.
Component number two, telomeres, a "cap" at the end of DNA is what causes cells to die and thus causes the process of aging or in science terms senescence.
As long as I Doctor Grup Von Houser Mix Mercury with Telomeres i can stop the senescence thus giving humans cellular immortality.
I make sure to wear gloves and wear my glasses as I take the test tube filled with microscopic telomeres into the liquidated mercury.
Theoretically speaking if these two components were two touch, they would release fumes that can alter the human body to a cellular level.
I am after all the smartest human alive, as these two components are about to touch
I think of all the hard work i put into to this project, all the human body i had to walk upon, all the cruel experiments, all the lives i've taken,
To get to this point, i smirk " This will be the start of a new era " and i say that the 2 components that i mixed together touch
