Chapter 2: 17 Again

Returning to the dilapidated apartment, Wolf immediately closed the door and sat down.

Although the screen disappeared from his eyes, when he thought about it, it appeared again.

After he clicked 'Continue', a new prompt appeared.

[Before logging into the system, you can receive the novice gift package. If you skip this part, the gift will disappear. ]

He looked at a gift box icon displayed on the screen and focused his attention there.

When he thought of this, the gift box suddenly began to flash, the lid flew open, and the entire box disappeared.

A new reminder appeared before him.

[Newbie Gift Pack Reward]

"Blair Witch" (screenplay)

"17 Again" (script)

"Um?"

Wolf's eyes lit up and he checked his new acquisition on the screen.

["Blair Witch" (screenplay)

["17 Again" (script)

Wolf gradually began to understand how the system worked.

He just has to focus on something to make it work.

The problem now is that there is no proof of authenticity in any of this, no physical evidence as evidence.

So, he thought about using items.

[The item "Blair Witch" (script) has been consumed. ]

Soon, information about the movie began to fill Wolf's brain, and he had some more memories in his mind, and those memories included every detail of the movie.

A copy of the script was also shown on screen.

"pretty!"

Wolf was finally convinced that everything he saw was real.

It was the first good thing that had happened to him since he'd traveled across time.

Wolf soon used the script for 17 Again, and the entire plot of the film came to him.

After exploring the system for some time, he also discovered other capabilities of the system.

There is a mall here, from movie scripts, songs to skills, all of which can be purchased through the system using the system currency "fame".

One reputation is equivalent to $10. Real money can be converted into fame and vice versa.

Currently, he has 0 reputation points.

He can earn reputation points by accepting various tasks provided by the system, or he can take the initiative to find tasks on his own.

With this figured out, he turned his attention back to the resources at hand.

Now, he had to take those two scripts and find a way to monetize them.

"Blair Witch" tells the story of three friends who embark on a journey to make a documentary about the legendary Blair Witch.

This is a very low-budget movie released in 1999. The "Found Footage Technique" (Found Footage Technique) in the film was very popular and was later used in films such as "Freak" and "Cloverfield".

The film earned nearly $250 million worldwide, far exceeding its budget.

Another movie, "17 Again," tells the story of Mike O'Donnell, who gave up his athletic career when he was 17 because he heard his girlfriend was pregnant.

When he turned 37, he found that his life had become boring and boring. From his wife who was about to divorce to his children who didn't care about it, everything began to go downhill.

He longs to go back to the age of 17 and make up for his past mistakes. After an unexpected opportunity, his wish came true and he transformed back into his 17-year-old self.

The story revolves around Mike, who is in the body of a teenager to help his children solve their problems and can't help but fall in love with his wife Scarlett all over again.

Overall, both films were successful.

"Blair Witch" had a budget of just $300,000 but earned $250 million worldwide.

"17 Again" had a budget of $40 million and grossed approximately $140 million at the box office.

For Wolf, it was obvious which movie he should choose.

Although the budget of "Blair Witch" is small for an average movie.

But even for a cheap movie, he still needed an initial budget.

So the best strategy is to write the script for "17 Again" and sell it to a well-known production company to earn yourself the first start-up capital.

However, even with these, he still needs a little luck.

After all, this is Hollywood, and there are thousands of scripts trying to get into it every day.

Even veteran screenwriters sometimes have trouble selling their scripts.

Because luck is also an important factor.

Ding~ding~

Just then, his cell phone, which he hadn't used for several days, rang.

Wolf looked at the caller ID.

[Uncle Charles. ]

As he searched his memory, he recalled the caller's name - 'Benjamin Charles'. He is MCA's agent and a good friend of his father.

He called every week to check on Wolf.

Unlike many small and unknown brokerage firms in Los Angeles, MCA is a relatively well-known one. It represents a few artists but focuses primarily on acting and film.

However, in the past two years, MCA's business development has been slightly sluggish.

This is due to changes in company management, with many artists switching to other companies. Their top star Tommy Williams joined rivals ICM.  This is not uncommon in Hollywood, but these continuous negative messages have greatly affected MCA's reputation, and despite this, they are still working hard to get back on their feet.

As for Benjamin Charles, he was a senior agent at MCA and a good friend of Wolf's father. They were college roommates, and since Wolf's father died, Benjamin called and cared about Wolf every week.

"Hey, Uncle Charles."

After reviewing his memory, Wolf picked up the phone and answered in a bright voice.

"Wolf, how are you? Have you moved out of the dormitory?"

A middle-aged man's voice replied.

"Yes, I just moved out today."

"Very good. Then, come to my office tomorrow."

"Your office?"

Wolf replied with a confused tone. At this time, he recalled that the original owner had asked Benjamin for advice on finding a job before dropping out of school.

"Yes, I will introduce you to a film production team I know. You can work there for a while and learn some things."

It turned out that the previous owner's plan was to first gain practical experience on a film set and then work hard to become a director.

That's not to say no director has walked the same path before, it's a tough but realistic plan.

But Wolf is different now. He has systematic help. That's why his next words caught Benjamin completely by surprise.

"Uncle Charles, I'm sorry, I don't think I want to work on the set right now."

"what are you saying?!"

A shocked voice came from the other end of the phone.

"I've been working on some movie ideas lately, and I should have a script ready by the weekend."

"You want to be a screenwriter?"

"Yes, uncle, I have a request to trouble you."

Wolf said, an idea flashed in his mind. He had been worried about how to sell the script for "17 Again," but now a great opportunity presented itself to him.
