"Sōkatsui."
BOOM!
A few days had passed since Koga started fighting. Only did he start to get noticeably tired. And that was only after spamming multiple Kido spells back to back.
At this point, Koga was sure that he had killed hundreds of thousands of hollows. But still, the number of Gillians only seemed to have decreased by a small amount. It was almost negligible.
As the blue flames left from the last Kido spell raged around him, Koga took a deep breath and looked at the innumerable amount of Gillian's rushing his way.
'The one controlling these hollows refuses to show himself? What is he waiting for? Maybe for me to completely tire myself out? Hm, then, I'll give him a reason to show himself...'
Koga held Muramasa out to the side as he closed his eyes. Lightning started streaming across the blade furiously and dark blue spiritual power rose from its surface.
The reiatsu emanating off of Koga rose by several degrees as he suddenly stepped forward and swung Muramasa downward diagonally.
Time itself seemed to stop as all the energy that was built up left Muramasa and disappeared into nothing. It was like the energy never existed in the first place.
Until...
BOOM!
The attack suddenly appeared at the place where the Gillian's were and exploded! That's right, the attack went through space itself!
In that one slash, over 100 Gillian's were absolutely obliterated while the survivors were heavily damaged.
Impressed with the outcome of this attack, Koga dropped down to one knee and started breathing heavily. Sweat ran down his face as he gasped for breath as if he were sick.
He held himself up with Muramasa but it was clear that he would fall at any moment. His entire body trembled with every breath he took.
Seemingly, Koga had finally met the bottom of his energy reserves.
And like a moth to a flame, multiple figures suddenly appeared around Koga, surrounding him.
They were much smaller than the Gillian's and even your average hollow, looking almost humanoid. Just from the way they approached him, it was clear that these hollows were several degrees more intelligent than the rest.
Intelligence wasn't the only thing that was different though. Their strength was on an entirely different level from the Gillian's.
Any one of them alone would be a match for Koga. So one could imagine what five of them could do against him.
This was the power of the Adjuchas.
Even Koga's calm countenance became serious when he noticed the density of their spiritual power.
'How didn't I sense them? Judging by how fast they got here, they should've been nearby. Sigh.'
Koga 'struggled' to stand up as he felt their spiritual power's pressing down upon him. He focused on all five of them, waiting for them to make a move.
Even Muramasa started to cry out in excitement.
"SHINIGAMI!"
A terrifying ghastly shout rang out behind Koga. He glanced over his shoulder to find a muscular dark green humanoid hollow with a red striped white mask.
Glowing yellow eyes shined brightly from the holes in his mask, locking onto Koga like a hawk.
Noticing that Koga wasn't answering him, the Adjuchas started shouting hysterically once again, sounding like a hate-filled banshee.
"SHINIGAMI! SHINIGAMI!!! AGHHHHH!"
It was demonic.
Absolutely revolting.
"There's always that crazy one in the group huh?"
Even Koga was a bit shaken after hearing this hollow's screams.
"NO EAT SHINIGAMI HEART!!!! I WANT HEART!!!"
His intelligence wasn't that high either. But judging by the fact that the other Adjuchas didn't refute his nonsense, it seems that he was at the top of the power hierarchy.
Suddenly, two hands came out of the sand and wrapped around Koga's ankles, locking him down on the ground!
Another Adjuchas was in hiding!
'Don't these hollows rarely group up? What is going on here?!'
The rest of the Adjuchas immediately attacked in a tight formation as they followed the muscular green hollow. He moved like a mindless wild animal while the rest protected his sides like loyal soldiers.
Koga quickly stuck Muramasa into the ground and sent out a wave of spiritual power from the blade, causing a pillar of sand to rise up under him, sending him into the air.
The Adjuchas holding his ankles didn't let go but grasped him tighter as if it wanted to pull him back to the ground.
'Persistent.'
Koga sensed the reiatsu of the Adjuchas in the ground and immediately slashed towards it with Muramasa.
When it saw the sword coming towards it, the hollow instantly let go of Koga's ankles and ran away, quickly arriving at the sides of its teammates.
Oddly enough, this Adjuchas greatly resembled a mole.
Koga could feel that demonic reiatsu which belonged to the green muscular hollow rushing towards him like a storm. That thing climbing the pillar seemed like it hated him to the bone.
'Time to stop pretending then.'
Koga took a deep breath and shunpo'd towards the muscular green hollow while grabbing its mask in the same motion.
Although Koga's body currently looked malnourished, his physical strength was still there. There was no way that the green hollow wouldn't be pushed downwards due to the shift in momentum.
"SHINIGAMI!"
Within the same palm that gripped the hollow's mask, a blue light suddenly started shining.
"Sokatsui."
BOOM!
"AGHHZZZZZ!"
The muscular green hollow was blasted back into the ground as blue flames terrorized its large body.
BVVVVNNNNNN!
The sound of a Cero entered Koga's ear and he quickly turned around to absorb it with Muramasa, only to see nothing there.
He couldn't see nor sense the Cero coming at all.
Even the hollows disappeared.
"What is..."
Suddenly Muramasa's voice rang out in Koga's mind.
"Master, move now! I'll break you out of this illusion!"
Koga immediately shunpo'd backward and in that instant...
BOOOOOMMM!
A massive explosion occurred at the spot Koga was just standing at. Even though he was a good distance away from the spot, he was pushed back from the sheer force of the blast.
"I was too careless. Thank you, Muramasa."
Muramasa responded calmly, "It is my duty, Master. Forgive me for asking, but why are you hesitating to kill them?"
Noticing that Koga had broken out of their illusion, the Adjuchas howled and rushed him once again.
As he glanced over their figures, a small smile appeared on his face.
"Because I'm interested in them. The longer I keep them alive, the more I can train."
Just as he finished saying that, an idea suddenly hit him.
Koga pointed Muramasa towards them and a small ripple of almost invisible spiritual power left its tip. It was so minuscule that it was almost unnoticeable.
But that was all he needed.
The Adjuchas suddenly felt themselves being bound by something as they couldn't even move a muscle.
They were bound by Muramasa's spiritual threads which had captured their shadows, preventing all movement.
The sound of the green muscular hollow shouting 'Shinigami' rang through the forest of menos once again but Koga completely ignored him. Now, they were nothing more than chickens ready for slaughter.
But of course, Koga wouldn't dare to kill these training specimens so easily.
Muramasa's words
"Muramasa, how does your ability work on hollows?"
"Master, before, I could only absorb them. But now, due to my upgrades, I should be able to brainwash them by manipulating their 'hearts'."
An excited expression appeared on Koga's face as he replied, "Is that so? Then I don't need to tell you what I want to do right?"
"Rest assured, Master. It will be done."
Koga turned Muramasa over, causing the blade to point downwards. He then said quietly, "Whisper, Muramasa."
