Chapter 77: Chapter 77

General Bushivo had heard of the Iron Rose kingdom. He had even been many years ago. It was an unremarkable kingdom except for its location and its ancient wall.

He had never heard of the Crimson Crusaders and had no idea who this Kane was. He also found it strange that this group was chasing after the knights from Kokar as the Iron Rose Kingdom has never really gotten involved with outsiders.

He also felt strange when facing the leader. This Kane had the aura of a man who had killed many. Bushivo used his battle arts to probe the man. All he got was that it would be very dangerous to defeat him. The men around him did not seem as strong and Bushivo could also tell that they were not as disciplined as your average knight.

Bushivo would usually feel confidant on defeat this group but he could feel that they were not alone. It seemed as if there was more danger in the surroundings.

He did not want to take any unnecessary risks as the protection of the princess was of the most importance. He could not let anything happen to her. Hopefully, she did not show herself and would stay hidden in the carriage.

"It is nice to make your acquaintance Sir Kane. It has been a long time since I have had contact with the Iron Rose Kingdom. May I ask why you were after the troops from Kokar? From what I heard your king was not interested in other kingdoms."

"Well Sir Bushivo you may not know this but the Iron Rose Kingdom has a new king. When the new king took power the Kingdom of Kokar felt like they could take what was his. So we had a few incidents and now a few of their men won't make it back home for dinner."

Bushivo was shocked by the man's words. He did not expect the king to be dead. He remembered the old king was a timid man and also remember his spoiled son. If that son was king then it would seem that war with the Kokar Kingdom would not go well. Even with the Iron Rose wall or these crusaders.

Bushivo also thought of the info as interesting and useful though. He could report back to his liege and maybe both sides could help each other out. It would be good to have help to fight the Kokar Kingdom.

"Well, Sir Kane my White Sparrow Kingdom has been feuding with the Kokar Kingdom for ages now. I would like to suggest to my king an alliance with the Iron Rose Kingdom. Do you think your king would find that of any interest?"

Bushivo could not see the man's face but he could tell that the man was thinking.

"That does sound interesting. I will mention it to him when I get a chance. An emissary will be sent to let you and your king know of the king's decision."

Bushivo was elated. He did not feel like the Iron Rose Kingdom was that strong from what he had seen but it would still be could to have an alliance with them. Plus they had their pros and his king would be happy to have a new ally. This trip was full of rewards.

"It's almost night Sir Kane. Would you like to join our camp tonight?"

Bushivo did not want to risk the princess's safety but it would be good to improve the relations with the Iron Rose group. They could also add to the protection of the camp. The princess could also stay in the carriage. It was safe and comfortable.

"It would be my honor Sir Bushivo. I must return to our camp and gather our things. Then I will return to you."

"We will camp here" responded Bushivo.
