Chapter 14: 13- Ousai vs Yukigaoka 1
Arriving at the huge stadium, the boys basketball team walked out from the bus that took them and curiously looked around, many students from different schools and people who came to watch were littered around the stadium.
"Wow! so many people!" Sora exclaimed.
"I'm getting nervous ahhh!" Asahi said with trembling voice.
"You need some help with that?" Hiruma asked.
*Shudder!
"I suddenly felt fine" Asahi immediately straightened up.
"Akagi, look at that guy, he is tall" Sora pointed.
"Hmm, he looks like a stick, can he even play with that body?" Akagi said as he stared at the tall guy though he ignored it since nothing was really eye catching from the player other than their height.
"How are you doing Kenma?" Tatsuo asked Kenma who was standing beside him.
"Nothing much, just the usual" Kenma replied.
"You guys have steel nerves after on going Hiruma's training, should we add it on our training regime?" Tanaka said as he stepped out of the bus.
The group had already got the attention of the people outside the stadium, and the moment Tanaka appeared he became the center of attention, after all, Tanaka was handsome and a little tall, he had the bad boy style and he was very eye catching.
"Whoa, which school are they from? I have never seen such a handsome guy before"
"I haven't seen them before, is it a new school?"
"No, look at the bus, its says Ousai Academy"
"Ousai Academy? isn't that an all girls academy? are they traps?"
"What the hell are you thinking, there is no way for a girl to be like that gorilla over there"
"Haven't you guys heard of it? Ousai Academy became a Co-ed just this year"
"Whoa! now I'm excited to see ow they would play"
Everyone started talking about the Ousai Boys basketball team.
"Captain, dont be a devil like Hiruma please" Asahi said.
"Kekeke, it looks like Asahi-senpai liked my training" Hiruma said.
"I do not! I dont want to be chased around being shot by guns again" Asahi said as he shuddered.
"Well, well, that is enough, lets go in, we are the only team that is outside" Tanaka said.
"Yes!"

The team marched inside the stadium with all eyes on them, while on their way, Tanaka and the others saw the other teams from other schools, each were different from the others.
They also exchanged look with each other but Tanaka lost his interest with them, they were just simply kids.
For a him an old man in the soul,, well, that he was really an old man since he was stuck in a space for god knows how long, does time even exist there? well, he didn't really care anymore and didn't want to remember that place.
There is no such thing as locker room in the stadium, students could change their clothes on the bathroom though.
While they wait for the preliminaries to start, all teams sat around of the stadium waiting and also calming their nerves, Tanaka and the others were sitting on the ground playing cards which of course caught theme more attention.
After all most of the people in this hall were serious about the game but seeing a group of people playing cards like this tournament was nothing to them.
This caused some dissatisfaction to the players of the other teams but they couldn't do anything, the appearance of Akagi was enough to scare the most of them.
"Is that guy really a middle schooler?" they all thought.
And just like that, the Ousai boys basketball team played cards peacefully without knowing that Akagi intimidated all of the other players around them.
It didn't take long for the preliminaries to start.
Ousai Academy against Yukigaoka middle school.
The two teams met at the court and greeted each other, Tanaka and Hiruma sat out and let the others play first.
Koro-sensei was also with them as the coach of the team but he was just there for appearance, he was carrying a small math book and was reading it like how a hard working teacher does.
"Ho? Koro-sensei is reading math book?" Tanaka exclaimed.
"That is not a math book, he just changed the cover of the book, that is one of his precious cultured collections" Hiruma said.
"Eh?" Tanaka sneakily went behind Koro-sensei and just like what Hiruma said, it was not a math book but one of Koro-sensei special collection book, Tanaka had seen one of Koro-sensei's book before when it dropped from his pocket and damn, it was really high quality.
Anyway, Tanaka lost his surprise and sat back on the bench and faced the boys team in front of him.
"No words said, blow everyone's mind" Tanaka said with a smile.
"Roger" they all saluted and finally entered the court.
Everyone immediately went to their position for the tip off, Akagi was a very huge gori- guiy, the Yukigaoka center was smaller than him.
The referee blew the whistle and tipped the ball off, both of the centers jumped at the same time.
Akagi went for the jump and despite his huge body, his jump was very high and he easily tipped off the ball, the other center of Yukigaoka didn't even got the chance to reach the ball.
Kenma caught the ball and didnt rush immediately, he let the others position themselves first, the defense of the other was a simple man to man, Kenma looked around and made eye contact with his teammates.
He then faced with his defender, he made a simple jab to the right and then when the point guard also put his weight to that side, Kenma spun his body to the left and avoided the defender,
Kenma was not a speed type so his movement was not that particularly fast but it was enough to give him some space, he made a shooting form and shot the ball towards the rim.
The point guard tried to contest but he was too late and the ball was already in the air, the ball made a beautiful arc and went into the basket.
"That easy?" the audience who were watching were dumb founded, it was just a simple move and easily scored against Yukigaoka.
The match continued and the captain of the Yukigaoka waked his teammates up with a clap of his hand, waking them up.
"That's alright, lets take back the score" the captain said.
"Y-yes!" the point guard replied and they went to offense.
The point guard dribbled and looked around his team, he faced Kenma who was defending him, but he looked bored as he faced the point guard.
This caused the point guard to be agitated, Kenma was mocking him! he resolved himself and dribbled the ball to wipe the bored look off Kenma's face.
"You idiot dont get too agitated!" the captain of the Yukigaoka shouted but it was too late.
*Swoosh
*Pak!
A hand slapped the ball away from the Yukigaoka's point guard and was immediately taken by Asahi who was close and had fast speed, Asahi took the ball and did an easy finger roll on the ball giving them another score.
The point guard of the Yukigaoka was shook, he made mistakes twice! he turned his head and stared at Kenma who still had the bored expression on his face, he gritted his teeth and felt frustration.
*Tap!
"Its fine, its fine, dont get too agitated, lets play like usual" The captain patted him and gave him some motivational words.
The point guard nodded and took a deep breath, "Yeah, I'm sorry I messed up" the point guard said.
"Good, lets continue!" the captain said.
On the side lines, Tanaka looked at them with his eye brows raised, "Why do I feel like we are villains who got in their way?" Tanaka said.
"You are just imagining it, they are just being too emotional" Hiruma said,
"Makes sense" Tanaka nodded and continued watching the match.
The game continued and the one who moved the most was Kenma, he purposely kept agitating the point guard of the other team, while als passing the ball to his teammates.
Their moves were not that cool nor eye catching, it was really normal, very normal that it was very scary, they made it seem so easy to execute this moves for someone who only trained for short 4 months.
They grasped the basics too well, the first quarter ended with each on the team scoring about 10 points, they scored 53 points in the first quarter and the one with the most points was Sora who sunk many threes.
Yukigaoka was only able to score about 26 points.
"I guess its my turn now, how about 40?" Tanaka asked Hiruma.
"You want the MVP right? then triple double is the best way, but 40 is good, but dont forget the other aspects" Hiruma said.
"Dont worry, I know what I'm going to do, just keep tracking my stats" Tanaka said.
"No problem" Hiruma nodded.
"Well then, lets show them some moves shall we?" Tanaka said with a smile as he stepped inside the court.
