Shinji never had any talent for the game of basketball, he tried his best to become a good player on and off the court.

But once he realized that his dream could never come true he quit. His life started to go downhill, he also wasn't a smart kid so he didn't excel academically. He spent the rest of his school days as an introvert who reads manga and novels, and never once had a girlfriend.

While leaving his low-paying job, he comes across a basketball court and starts to shoot around, but unbeknownst to him, this is how he would die and wake up in the world of Kuroko No Basket as a background character, with the ability to copy skills.
