Chapter 2: Prolouge
Blood. So much blood. That's all there was. Tears streamed from her eyes as she cried out in pain. She had crushed my hand between her own as the pain got worse. I couldn't bear to watch this but I had to do it for my wife, for my soon to be born daughter.
"Mrs Helios, just a few more pushes, then you can finally hold your daughter" She never could, Ophelia was taken just moments after birth. Tesni reached out to her but to no avail. I was the one to comfort her in her last moments. No matter what I shouted or commanded, the Medics couldn't save her. She was gone and all that was left of her was this demon child.
I didn't know that Tesni, the woman I had loved for 30 years of my life, was actually a Tumultus-viventem. Things would have been different if I had known. I would never have married her. I only learnt when Tesni was giving birth.
Her eyes, that's when I knew. Her eyes turned grey and her pupils dilated to slits. Similar to the eyes of a cat. When she had reached out for my hand, clawing for comfort, my emotions doubled causing me to choke on fresh tears.
