Game Information

You are not expected to remember all of this, you will be reminded of information during reading.

Knowledge & Fear is a highly anticipated game being released by Sunrise Entertainment globally.

Before the release of the game, some, not all (mainly important game features, etc.) were leaked by beta testers.

--

Knowledge & Fear is a very intense perma-death game where the only aspects that the player can customize about their player character is their appearance and name. Other than those, everything else is left up to the game. If you wanted your character to be "magic-based" and they end up not being magically talented, you're plan is fucked.

Each player spawns in a random location, safe or not, with 1 - 5 "innate talents". Innate talents dictate what your player character is innately talented in using, doing, etc. and any skills gained that relate to an innate talent will progress faster than normal. Some innate talents are useless when it comes to combat, but combat isn't the only thing a character can offer.

--

Magic in this game is not wielded through tomes, rituals or wands but is instead derived from the raw emotions of its inhabitants. Fragrant Power, as it's known, is a manifestation of negative human emotions – anger, sadness, and fear. The more intense these emotions, the more potent the Fragrant Power becomes.

Players can cast spells using Fragrant Power, yeah magic.

Every player has an affinity, a primary negative emotional state that fuels their powers. This affinity can be anger, sadness, fear, or a combination thereof. Players must learn to control and channel their emotions to access their Fragrant Power effectively.

Throughout the game world, players can discover Fragrant Objects – relics infused with potent emotions. These artifacts grant unique abilities or enhance existing powers, but they also carry the emotional baggage of their creators, affecting the wielder's psyche in unpredictable ways.

In certain places giant, futuristic floating islands can be found, mainly in the center of the map. These islands named Hubs are the most safe place for any player, some are larger than others, have different NPCs, etc.

In each Hub there is an official Ironford Explorers Union, the Union serves as both a hub for explorers and a bastion against the encroaching darkness of the game's world. I don't really have to explain the rest, just a futuristic adventurers' guild.

Here are the rankings:

The game doesn't have a leveling system, experience and skills are your best friend. Killing monsters isn't only for the sake of selling their parts, gaining combat experience is very important along with pushing your limits, allowing for a "breakthrough."

A permanent explosive burst in strength, Fragrant Power, speed, etc. Achieving a breakthrough is very hard because there is no definite way to experience one but significant if your planning to go pro.

--

The enemies are enemies, I don't know what to tell you. They are called Fiends. Most of them aren't intelligent, the rare few powerful ones are. Their body parts are able to be sold in the Hubs, providing evidence of eliminations of stronger enemies can allow one to be promoted in the Ironford Explorers Union.
