Chapter 6: Belighted City
Elsie had woken up very early the next day and was currently standing with her two hands on her waist in front of Zarin who was snoring like a pig.
"Dammit! He's sleeping so peacefully while we are stuck in this damn hole!"
Her face grimaced and she unconsciously stepped on his hand to wake him. It was as though she was asking him who gave him the peace of mind to sleep!.
Zarin screamed as he woke up. While clutching his injured arm, he couldn't help but curse as he glared at the skinny girl who had her hands on her waist.
"Damn you, you little devil."
"Little devil?" Elsie blinked and fury could be seen in her eyes.
She furiously matched towards Zarin as she stomped each step she took and smacked him hard on the head. "Who are you calling little devil huh? mention that again and I will twist your ear off." Elsie twisted his ear before letting go.
"Haiz!...."Zarin caressed his ear.
"How do we leave this place?"
"Through the back, there is a passageway there." Zarin continued to caress his aching ear.
"A passageway?" Elsie blinked and confusion could be seen in her eyes.
There was a passageway in this damned hole?
She couldn't resist asking, "Rascal, you mean there is a passageway in this...place?"
"Yes...I forgot to mention that yesterday," Zarin smiled awkwardly.
He wouldn't be surprised if this skinny devil twisted his ear off.
Elsie's eyes began to twitch violently the moment she heard those words, unimaginable fury was bubbling up inside of her.
This rascal knew there was a passageway here since yesterday and he didn't even tell her and had them spent the night in this creepy hole.
Suppressing her fury, she glanced at the young man gesturing him to lead the way.
Zarin, however, was stunned, he expected a palpitation or something from the little devil but it seemed he was just overthinking things! Smiling at her, he led them through the passage and they eventually got to the end of the passageway after endless walking.
Pushing the stone door open, Zarin prepared to leave but unexpectedly got his butt kicked by Elsie which resulted in him falling face flat on the ground.
"That's for making me spend the night in this creepy hole..haha..."
Clapping her hands together and proceeded to continue her journey. "You better get up there, because am not gonna help you up." She chuckled as she walked away.
"...."
Zarin stood up with frustration and dusted his clothes before proceeding to catch up with the little devil.

Walking side by side with Zarin, Elsie abruptly asked. "So where are we going now?"
She didn't know anywhere in this place, and when she left on this journey, she had no idea where she was going. So she decided to travel with this rascal.
"We are going to Belighted city," Zarin tilted his chin up and placed his hands behind his back. "We are almost there just forty miles more to walk, and your eyes shall view this new city."
Elsie nodded, ignoring the proud smile on Zarin's face. What he was proud of, she had no idea!

Standing on top of a hill after walking for forty miles, Elsie together with Zarin gazed down at the huge city bustling with people. They had finally made it to Belighted city.
They proceeded to walk into the city and we're stopped at the city gate, just like the rest of the people standing in front of them.
The governor of the city made a strict rule that foreigners walking into the city must be searched to avoid unwanted visitors.
Elsie together with Zarin matched into the city after they were searched and proceeded to explore the city. They walked through the markets looking into every shop and sale.
"Any nearby restaurant? My treat" Elsie who hasn't eaten for a day now was beginning to go hungry, she didn't wanna experience hunger again. And as for treating Zarin to a meal, she would be the biggest ungrateful fool if she didn't, after he brought her safely to this city!
"Yes, there is, come with me." Excitement and joy bubbled up within Zarin the moment he heard that question. He would be lying if he said he wasn't hungry.
He excitedly grabbed Elsie's hand and pulled her into a nearby restaurant and rushed her to a vacant seat.
A waitress walked towards them with a charming smile on her face as she asked. "Your order please?"
"Four plates of your best dishes," Elsie smiled at the waitress.
"And wine too.." Zarin stopped the waitress who was about to leave as he sent a pleading gaze towards Elsie.
Elsie nodded and smiled at the waitress, signaling her to add wine too.
"Haiz...do you eat without wine?" Zarin grimaced his face and confusion could be seen in his eyes. Who eats without wine? Wine is necessary when food is served!
A few minutes passed and the waitress arrived with the dishes and two bottles of wine.
Zarin rubbed his hands together as he licked his lips. Twice he came to this city he had never eaten in this restaurant before, rather at small shops that serve rubbish dishes.
The moment the waitress left, they both dug into their food like mad dogs and halted as they glanced at each other. They were stunned at each other reactions.
One thought emerged in their minds.
Was she as hungry as I was?
Was he as hungry as I was?
They eventually ignored each other and gobbled down their food in enjoyment.
Zarin patted his tummy and peeked at the skinny devil in front of him and he couldn't resist asking, "How come you eat this much and still this skinny?"
Elsie who was chewing her food halted and slammed her spoon on the table, "I should probably take away your food and eat! maybe then I will add weight!" She proceeded to chew her food, ignoring the stupid rascal with a bloated tummy seated across the table.
Zarin smiled awkwardly and began to devour his food, this time he was eating it as though it might be snatched away from him any minute from now. He can't take any risk with this little devil.
