Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Academy and Competition
3rd POV:
The next day after the battle of Maito Gai against the chunins, the first day of the Academy starts. Kakashi is walking towards the Academy when he saw an old woman carrying two sacks on her back.
Before Kakashi can offer his help, a black-haired boy suddenly takes one sack and carried it. He has a spiky blak hair and a goggle covering his eyes.
"Grandma, let me help you carry your sacks."
The boy said while carrying the first sack the old lady is carrying herself. A warm smile showed on her lips and nods her head.
"Thank you young boy. But doesn't the Academy starts at this day? You will be late if you help me. Also, these sacks are heavy and you may not be able to carry them."
The old woman said with a worry in her voice. Its true that the boy will be late and it will be bad for his image as it is only the first day of Academy. Also, considering the boy's physical strength, she doubted if the boy can really carry the sack.
As the old woman said this, Kakashi takes her other sack and flipped it on his back in such a simple motion.
"Grandma, I'll carry the other one and don't worry, we won't be late especially on the first day."
Kakashi said while glancing at the black haired boy. Different emotions and memories started to flash at him as he saw the boy. The feelings of regret and sadness looms unto him. But then, a he remembers the boy's nature, Kakashi started to smile and happiness takes over. The boy is exactly Kakashi's childhood friend, Uchiha Obito.
"Yo. I am Uchiha Obito, the future Hokage. Nice to meet you."
Obito said with a smile and a thumbs up pointing at Kakashi.
"I am Hatake Kakashi. Nice to meet you too."
As Kakashi and Obito finished introducing themselves, they went towards the house of the old lady. After accompanying her, the two boys started running and jumping on the roof of the buildings. They will be late of they take their time.
Kakashi POV:
As we arrived at the Academy, I saw a girl standing on the entrance with a worried expression. She has a brown hair and purple markings on her chicks.
As I saw her, I have the urge to go to her and hug her tightly. Regret and anger swells upon me as I remembered what I have done to the both of them. First, I failed to save Obito, second, I failed to live up to his request. Lastly, I killed her myself. I composed myself and just stood at the spot and stares at her.
"Obito, your almost late you know. Did you help a grandma again?"
The girl asked Obito while dragging him inside the Academy.
"I did help a grandma and you can ask Kakashi about it."
As Obito said that, he pointed at me. The girl glanced at me and blushed a bit and said.
"Does Obito really help a grandma? By the way, I am Nohara Rin, you can call me Rin for short. Nice to meet you."
I then snapped out as I heard her name and bow at me. I also bowed a little as I recall the interactions we have done with Minato-sensei in my past life.
We entered the Academy and heads straight to the room where I saw all my classmates in my past life.
I then sat down with Obito beside me and Rin on his right side.
Suddenly, the teacher that will be our homeroom teacher came and entered the noisy room with kids playing around. It immediately turned silent and all students sat down.
"Okay class, I will be your homeroom teacher until you graduate into this Academy. I am Kujira Umino. First, lets check your attendance."
As he said that, the names of all my classmates are called and all of us are present.
"Okay then. Gather in the school grounds for the Sandaime Hokage will give a speech to us."
We then gathered on the school grounds as we saw a wooden platform and a man standing with his hands on his back. He turned his head towards me and a smile started to form on his face.
A few minutes later, all the class of the Academy had arrived and the Sandaime started to preach about the Will of Fire unto us.
We then got back in our rooms and the teacher started to teach us how to control chakra through the leaf concentration training.
Because I already started to train tree climbing, its an understatement that the leaf concentration training is a piece of cake. On the other hand, my classmates are having trouble maintaning the leaf on their forehead except for one. Gai also did it successfully as we both started tree climbing. Even though he can't use any jutsu, that doesn't mean he can't control chakra. His only problem is that he just have no any talent in ninjutsu and genjutsu so he can't mold his chakra into any jutsu.
This all continued for a week as the teacher also taught us the clone jutsu. Considering that I already know it, I made five clones just to show off a little. I mean, in my past life, I made clones for every single student in my class and what I just did now is nothing compared to that.
After a month of studying, I can't really say that I learned a lot but what I gained is much important than that. I gained a lot of friends and I am a lot warmer compared to my past life. Also, we tested our chakra nature because all of us can now control our chakra. The paper I got has three parts divided. One part caught fire, another part wrinkled and the last one crumbled away. These means I have three chakra nature which is fire, lightning and earth respectively. With that, my first month in the Academy passed by.
Obito POV:
Its early in the morning and I am taking my breakfast. My first month on the Academy passed by and I made a lot of progress by sparring with Kakashi everyday. I don't really know why he always accepts request of a spar considering how weak I am but it made us both good friends with each other. He also helped me on my training on chakra control and currently I can now do the tree climbing training. Though I learned it, I get pretty discourage when I saw Kakashi and Gai walking the water.
Yes, me and Rin started to join Kakashi's training with Gai every after classes and during weekends. Rin doesn't really focus on taijutsu but focuses more on her chakra control. I also learned our clan's signature jutsu which is the Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu. Though its still a size of a ball, I am still improving it as I will join a competition.
As I was thinking of this, a loud voice suddenly called me.
"Obito, Rin is here to pick you up. Eat faster will you. Its bad for a boy to keep a girl waiting you know."
I hurried myself and got to my grandma and saw Rin at our door.
"Sorry for the wait Rin. I slept late because of my training."
I apologized to Rin as I scratched my head feeling embarassed. I then said goodbye to my grandma as me and Rin heads to the site of the competition.
We arrive at the venue and saw a wooden platform and many people waiting and kids signing up.
Time passed by as I waited for my name to be called. After a few minutes, I heard my name and went to the platform.
When I am on the platform, I made a couple of hand signs and breathe in. I thought to myself 'Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu'.
I then breathe out and a soccerball size fireball appered in front of me. The judges gave their scores and raised seven, eight, eight. Rin then congratulated me as I declared that I will win the competition as a stepping stone in becoming the Hokage.
But then suddenly, I felt my body tremble as I heard the next participant.
"Next participant, Hatake Kakashi."
Kakashi jumped of a tree branch and lands on the platform.
Kakashi POV:
I am currently waiting for my name to be called. I signed up for a competition of ninjutsu just for fun. But then I heard a familiar name and turned to see Obito walking at the platform. He used the signature jutsu of the Uchiha clan which is the 'Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu'.
I saw a soccerball sized fireball out of his mouth. Obito then got a total of twenty-three point from the judges.
What's weird is I don't really remember encountering Obito when I joined this competition in my past life. I guess we're still not close at each other at that time and me being the cool kid.
I then heard my name as I jumped of the tree branch and lands at the platform. I then requested the judges to step back as they might get hurt. In my past life, I remember using a Earth style jutsu but this time, lets show off a bit more. I then started to do hand signs the same as Obito's. I then breathe in and thought to myself 'Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu'. I then made a fireball with a size of an elephant coming from my mouth. All the people present has their mouth open except for Obito an Rin.
As I stopped my justu, the judges gave me a perfect thirty points and gave me a silver kunai. Suddenly, someone tapped my shoulder and said irritatingly.
"Kakashi you show-off. You purposely used the 'Fire style: Great Fireball justu' to embarass me, right?"
Obito said with a frown on his face and stared at the silver kunai I am holding.
"I don't know what your talking about. I just used a simple jutsu so that I won't stand out that much. I didn't know the competition will be this weak."
I said and shrugged my shoulders while acting cool. I just loved teasing Obito like he is Tenzo. Also, I want him to realize how weak he is and for him to strive harder to be stronger.
"I swear that one day, I will definitely beat you and become the strongest and best Hokage to ever live."
As I heard this, I chuckled a bit thinking how will he be the strongest when he got me in his way.

Lastly, can someon tell me how old kakashi when the 2nd war ends and the 3rd war starts?
