Chapter 41: The Fight Begins (I)
"Well, you must be silly to think that I would just go according to your commands. I myself am a lazy person that would avoid any work possible. Hence why should I help?" The man spoke with a smirk and Seunghyuk just returned the smirk with another smirk of his own.
"How about I withstand one whole minute of your attacks without falling to the ground? If I succeed, will you please extend your help?" Seunghyuk proposed, and the man laughed heartily while his aloofness had completely washed off at that point in time, replying with a bigger smile, "Then what do I get in return if you fail? You seem to know something else when you proposed that challenge, it's not exactly beneficial to me, you know?"
"How about I help you break the Demon seal?" Seunghyuk proposed with a raised brow and a smile so bright that it delivered an additional shock to the man's face.
"How did you-"
"I have my ways."

"Indeed, I have my ways," Seunghyuk smiled as he told Kwok Ryong while leaving possibly a Legendary Conqueror staring bewilderedly at him.
"I don't have all the time in the world, so do you accept the deal, or what?" Seunghyuk asked with a slightly provoking tone, putting on a daring smile while the mysteriously genderless Kwok Ryong spoke back, "You sound awfully cocky, but lucky for you that's what I like! I'll go with your deal, and I will fulfill my promise if I am unable to make you fall to the ground before one minute, but if I successfully caused you to fall, you jolly well do something about my Demon Seal as promised."
Seunghyuk gave a firm "sure" to affirm Kwok Ryong while he shouted at the top of his lungs in hopes that Duke Travessle could hear him, "Duke Travessle, would you mind setting a countdown timer at one minute!"
The Duke immediately responded as his distinct voice rang through the speakers, "Of course, Mr Choi! Your one minute will start..."
Seunghyuk eyed Kwok Ryong carefully, though displayed to be genderless, it has certainly taken the form of a man. Embers of fire glowed in both of Seunghyuk's clenched fists as they burst outward into balls of fire that covered Seunghyuk's fists harmlessly. Kwok Ryong put up his index and middle finger as a peculiar gray energy emitted from his fingers, summoning a pure, black sword layered with parts of crimson red that gave off ominousness like none other.
"...Now!"
On Duke Travessle's signal, Seunghyuk gave no hesitation as he leaned his body weight forward and dashed towards the sword-wielded Kwok Ryong which waited for Seunghyuk's arrival. Seunghyuk's flaming fist drew a fire trail behind it as it was swung forcefully towards Kwok Ryong's head, but instead of meeting flesh and meat, the burning fist of Seunghyuk hit cold, hard metal from the black sword.
"You know you only have to sustain for a minute, right? Why go offensive?" Kwok Ryong swiped his sword forward and the speed was unexpected, drawing a line of fresh blood from Seunghyuk's torso as he replied, "Well, you're suppose to make me fall to the ground in a minute, and you have the time to talk?"
Seunghyuk immediately rekindled the dying flame in his hands while leaping forward like a famished tiger. All of a sudden, Seunghyuk's body felt additional weight and forced his body backwards like the forces itself were against every single movement of his.
"Shit! I'm going to fall!" Seunghyuk cussed silently as he immediately conjured a huge amount of fire in both his palms and shot it downwards to the ground as he used the backward reaction force to flip backwards, landing on the ground with his two feet safely.
Seunghyuk panted heavily as he noticed the distorted portion of air in front of Kwok Ryong, then realised the skill Backward Gravity was used on Seunghyuk. Danger hit Seunghyuk like a hammer to his head when he realised the skill was only at one star, but in contrary, the strength of the skill was already scary enough to combat a three to four star skill. However, the one star still limited the skill time, hence Seunghyuk was saved by the mysterious Demon Seal on Kwok Ryong.
From then on, the fight became completely wordless except for summoning chants, only filled with battling concentrations from both sides. Seunghyuk quickly summoned the Snake of Ophiuchus and sent it slithering in the air towards Kwok Ryong but with one clean slash, the snake was cut into nothingness. The skill Slash Of The Stars was used, and Seunghyuk again felt more wary due to the mysteriously overpowered strength of the skills as seconds ticked by slowly like time was playing with Seunghyuk.
Seunghyuk was about to summon his snake once again, but his summoning was immediately stopped and cancelled as his body felt the unnecessary weight come back on again, pushing his whole body back and down. Seunghyuk resisted with all the strength left in his body, but the second time the skill Backward Gravity was used, not only did Seunghyuk's body not get use to the resistive force, his body had weakened from the added weight.
"This is bad! Short-Fused Explosion!" Seunghyuk shouted out and raised his stats by seven, swinging his arms backwards and shooting beams of fire at the ground behind him to try and force his body forward.

"Snake of Ophiuchus! Serpens Caput Strengthen!" Seunghyuk quickly summoned the snake and reinforced its head with gold, then will the snake to painfully hit Seunghyuk from behind.
"I have to say that's a smart move, but not enough!" Kwok Ryong shouted out as he watched Seunghyuk break free from the hands of gravity as the Backward Gravity skill was cancelled.
"You really have to stop talking and start thinking!" Seunghyuk hollered back at Kwok Ryong as he forced both his palms together while building up a swirling fire tornado, then sending the horrifying fire construct forward towards a calm Kwok Ryong.
"Space Warper."
That was all that was said, and Kwok Ryong opened up a huge space in front of him, sucking the whole of Seunghyuk's flaming tornado in.
There was a short moment of silence, but during that short second, it seemed like even Seunghyuk's words were sucked in by Kwok Ryong's unique skill that rendered Seunghyuk absolutely speechless.
"Say goodbye to you, and goodbye to my Demon Seal," Kwok Ryong mocked as the space reopened beside him again as the flaming tornado amplified, shrouded with dark, purple flames that vigorously spun towards Seunghyuk like a dog aggressively trying to bite its owner.
"Damn it!" Seunghyuk gritted his teeth as he used Nighthowling to turn himself into a Nighthowler, preparing to dash to the side and back in order to avoid the monstrous tornado, but at that instance, Backward Gravity was used, forcing Seunghyuk's body weight backwards, then Seunghyuk closed his eyes, using every fibre in his body to resist the crazy force.
However, Seunghyuk's back met the ground.
"Well, the time is nearly 11 seconds, and you've fallen to the ground! Looks like I'll get my seal broken!" Kwok Ryong laughed as he sees Seunghyuk lying tiredly across the floor, but Seunghyuk merely smiled, which stopped Kwok Ryong's haughty laugh short, "You know, I'm actually pinned to the wall and not lying on the ground, right? Even though you wouldn't believe me, you're actually lying on the ground now looking up at my body on the wall right now. If you ask Duke Travessle, the situation must be hilarious with you lying on the ground talking to me being pinned to the wall."
"But there's no way-"
Kwok Ryong stopped himself short as he realised what had happened. Kwok Ryong's Backward Gravity skill was already at an unbelievable level even if it is only at one star skill mastery. Seunghyuk had made a good guess that Kwok Ryong was once a Legendary Conqueror that was heavily sealed by the demons, hence the skills that were able to be unleashed even under sealed conditions were still of an extraordinary level. Backward Gravity seems to only push the opponent backwards and down to the ground, but due to the fact that gravity acts on every surface and object, the gravity direction change inside the enclosed battle space had mentally altered the surfaces inside the minds of people that are affected by the skill. Currently, Seunghyuk and Kwok Ryong's minds are recognising the actual floor as a wall and the wall surface as the floor, hence the current situation.
"Well, I admit that my skills have been getting more uncontrolled over the years but I can still-"
"No, the time's up," Seunghyuk stated and the Backward Gravity skill cancelled, dropping Seunghyuk back to the actual ground as Kwok Ryong stood back up with bewilderment written all over his face.
"Looks like I've won, so please help me complete this task successfully," Seunghyuk stated between slight coughs as he brushed dust off his shoulders, looking expectantly at the moody Kwok Ryong despite feeling sore and numb all over after trying to defy gravity itself for a whole minute, "You don't need to look at me with such frustrated and hopeless eyes, I'll strike you another deal. If you are able to help me successfully complete this task, I will still help you break the Demon Seal. If you've unexpectedly failed..."
"I'll do it! I'll do it! You better hold your end of the deal, if not I will certainly kill you even with my sealed skills!" Kwok Ryong spoke with desperation and threat combined, looking at Seunghyuk with doubtful eyes which Seunghyuk immediately replied dauntlessly, "Hey, stop that. I decide whether I want to break the seal, and you don't threaten me, old creature, you can kill me and wait for another few decades to find another method to break your seal."
Seunghyuk shook his head while he sighed, after all he never liked threats directed towards him, turning around, he was met with the other members of his group lying around dazed, seemingly still in recovery after the huge gravity manipulation by Kwok Ryong.
"Wait! You...I have no idea how you've managed to figure out my identity of a non-human given your young age, but I will trust you for now," Kwok Ryong said as he put up his two fingers again to dismiss his black sword, then turned around to back face Seunghyuk as he walked away.
"Well, I guess that will do for that creature, now it's time to get the others working," Seunghyuk told himself as he walked towards the other fifteen people while putting on a scary face of plotting, "They should be much easier to 'convince' I believe..."
Seunghyuk knows that after the lot are frightened enough, they would naturally do what they should. Then, the one-sided defensive fight will soon begin.
