Chapter 3: DIVR Headgear
Enzo and Ivan talked all day long about the things that were revealed by the CEO of Extant Company today. The new information made them even more excited than they were before, because the new information showed that the game wouldn't be the standard mmorpg.
The inclusion of different species was something that could be seen in a lot of other mmorpgs, but usually it was something you could select from the start of the game. However, Legends Reborn was different, the player has to find those inheritances before they are able to become those species. Not to mention the different strengths and weaknesses of each race.
The different pros and cons that follow each species could drastically alter a players playstyle. For example, vampires and werewolves cannot use weapons. This means that classes that are strong because of their weapon proficiencies would become useless if they became vampires or werewolves.
This weakness seems like something too harsh, but when you look at all of the strengths that come from being a vampire or werewolf compared to the other available species, it wasn't so bad.
The article also gave Enzo and Ivan time to plan what class they want to choose, and what inheritance they might want to look for in the future.
"Ivan the line is moving!" Enzo hurriedly shouted.
The two hadn't even realized that it was night time, much less 12 am, because they were so focused on their own conversation.
"Shit!" Ivan shouted.
They quickly packed up their chairs and blankets before stuffing the empty wrappers from their snacks into the duffel bags.
They may have been distracted and rushing, but they weren't going to litter.
It took 20 minutes for them to finally reach the door to the GameGo store.
"Are you two here to buy a DIVR helmet?" A worker standing outside asked.
"Yes."
"Yup."
"Okay, just go to the register and tell the worker standing there if you want a bronze or a silver headgear and he will help you."
"Thanks!" Enzo said before walking into the store.
"Thank you." Ivan followed behind him.
'The store looks so empty…'
Enzo had been in this store many times before to buy video games in the past, but he had never seen it so empty before.
There was nothing on any of the shelves or walls like usual. The only thing in the store was the cashier, the register, empty shelves, and some decorations on the walls.
"Hello." The worker said politely.
"What headgear would you two like?"
"Silver please." Enzo said.
"Silver." Ivan responded.
"Well you two are in luck. We only have three left of the silver model." He told them.
"You sure you don't want me to pay for yours?" Ivan asked Enzo quietly.
"Yes, I saved all of this money for a reason it would be a waste to not use it now."
"Okay."
"That'll be $1,100 each." The worker told them.
'Huh?" Enzo raised an eyebrow.
He was dumbfounded.
"But I thought it was only $1,000?" He asked in a panic.
"Yes, the headgear is $1,000, but the game itself is another $100."
'Shit.'
Enzo never even considered the cost of the game. He just assumed it was included in the cost of the headgear like most other people.
"Stop freaking out, I got your back." Ivan said.
Enzo turned towards his friend, and before he could say anything else Ivan took out his phone and sent $100 to Enzo.
They already had each other's banking information because Ivan would sometimes pay Enzo to get some things for him while he was out.
"Thanks Ivan." Enzo said.
'I am very lucky to have met someone like him.'
Enzo may not accept Ivan's gifts often, but it still felt good to know that he is friends with someone so selfless and loving.
The two quickly paid for their headgear and then left the store.
The boxes they were carrying were all white with no labels or pictures on them.
The bronze headgear packaging was similar except it was in a dark brown color.

Ivan and Enzo were home in less than 10 minutes after buying their headgear.
They walked so fast they were borderline jogging to their apartment.
Not only were they excited to get home and unbox their new technology, but they also didn't want to give anyone the opportunity to steal from them.
They lived on the campus of a prestigious college with good campus security, but that didn't mean they were going to take any chances.
"Only 23 hours left until launch. Let's go to sleep for as long as we can and then when we wake up we can make our plans." Enzo told Ivan.
He nodded in response.
They both went to their respective rooms and placed down their new headgear before going to bed.
They would need a lot of rest for the launch tomorrow, and time passed faster when you were asleep.

"Huaaaahhhhh." Enzo let out a yawn as he awoke.
The midday sun was flooding his room with light, finally shaking the teen out of his deep sleep.
He looked over at the clock on the nightstand beside his bed.
"12 pm, nice…" He mumbled.
He was able to get a whole twelve hours of sleep, meaning there were only twelve more hours before the launch of Legends Reborn Online."
Enzo then took a shower and got dressed before going to the kitchen to eat a light breakfast.
"Are you excited?" Ivan asked with a large smile on his face.
"Mhm." Enzo asked with his own smile.
Ivan had been awake since around 8 am because he was so excited, so he just went to the living room and watched TV until Enzo woke up.
The 19 year olds were like two 10 year olds on Christmas Eve.
After he finished the eggs he cooked himself Enzo told Ivan, "Let's check out our headgear."
They both went to their rooms and brought the white boxes back to the living room.
