Chapter 2: Soul of the Azure Dragon

“What is the Azure Dragon’s soul?” Leng San slightly frowned.

“You now possess a power that is greater than anyone else. It’s sealed within your body, but it needs to be nurtured along with your qi.”

“And how is it going to help me?”

“In several ways. It’s a great power that will give you blessings in accordance with the qi you possess

Violet stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Sense.

Indigo stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Breath.

Blue stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Muscle.

Green stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Scale.

Yellow stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Qi.

Orange stage qi, you will be blessed with the Dragon’s Wings.

Red stage qi and rainbow stage qi, no one has achieved these stages yet… thus the power that they grant remains a mystery.”

Leng San’s body trembled with utmost satisfaction. The extent of the dragon’s blessing was still unknown to the young man. However, he understood too well that no level of qi would be able to annihilate the Asuras due to the vast difference between their powers. But Leng San was truly satisfied. With the dragon’s blessings, it would increase the probability of successful revenge, even if it is only one percent. Freya continued to speak.

“Your current state should enable you to sharpen your Dragon’s Sense. Try concentrating and marvel at the difference it makes.”

Leng San calmed his mind to concentrate. He sensed the blue dragon aura enveloping his body, which grew denser every second. After one incense stick (five minutes), Leng San dispersed the blue aura like the motion of waves sent from a stone that was thrown into the water. The aura slowly expanded with Leng San at the center. He could sense even the slightest movement of flowers softly blown by the wind and subtle flapping of wings of each insect.

“Marvelous!! This spiritual sense is very powerful. I can detect every single thing within one-fifth of a li (one hundred meters).”

‘As expected of a prodigy born only once in a thousand years of the Leng Clan, a glimmering hope of the restoration of the clan. His grandpa said that it usually takes several months of training to be able to use the Dragon’s Sense. But Leng San could immediately execute it after hearing only a brief explanation.’

Freya, daughter of a Deva, was amazed by the prodigy but did not speak her mind to refrain from feeding his ego.

Leng San stood up and observed his belongings that came with him from the past but did not find anything except the clothes he was wearing. He automatically assessed the situation in his mind.

“Considering the fact that I can’t go back to where I came from, I must learn about this new place and restore the Leng Clan!!”

Through the dispersion of his Dragon’s Sense, he sensed several vital energies that came from the north. He set out towards the settlement in haste. Along the way, he encountered varied inhabitants of the forest and familiar fruits. He deduced that it was highly likely that he was still in the Human Realm. But the identity of the continent remained a mystery due to a lack of information.

In the past, the Human Realm was divided into four major continents, the Azure Dragon Continent in the east, the White Tiger Continent in the west, the Black Tortoise Continent in the north, and the Vermilion Bird Continent in the south. The Leng Clan was the strongest clan within the Azure Dragon Continent and possibly the Human Realm. Saying that the Leng Clan was unrivaled within its realm was not an exaggeration. However, with the current state of his qi, restoration of his clan was impossible.

“In about twenty li (ten kilometers), we should be able to ask someone about this continent. Let’s speed up.”

Freya’s voice was sweet. But every single word was void of emotion with a hint of boredom. Leng San, who was in the possession of the Dragon’s Sense, could only detect the direction. The exact location was unknown to him. He slightly tightened his brows as Freya seemed to be above his level. She could specifically tell the exact location.

‘Who was she in her past life? She’s just a spirit, but her sensing ability is exceedingly powerful.’

Leng San sped up with a faint hope to find out the identity of the continent and plan the next step. However, with only violet qi, all he could do was running and picking up fruits along the way until reaching the village after half a day.

“Hey!! Who are you, young man? Why did you come out from the forest alone? I’ve never seen your face before. You’re not a member of the Floating Cloud Village, are you?”

Once Leng San emerged into the field of his vision, the village’s guard shouted. According to his Dragon’s Sense, this man possessed a level three indigo qi.

“My family traveled through the forest to find a new place to settle down. We were robbed and my father sacrificed his life to save me. I ran out of fear for half a day until I reached this village. Please help me and my dad.”

He clung on to the guard’s sleeves after the speech and begged for life with a grim expression. He was drenched from head to toe from running, making his acting even more believable.

‘Hmph!! What a sly kid. Even your martial arts couldn’t match your acting skills.’

Freya thought...
