Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Flashback

I watched in fear as one of them walked in my room. I closed my eyes not wanting to look at his. Giving him the pleasure of seeing the fear in my eyes. That's what they all loved to see, I hear the steps come closer. Why did I have to go through this. Im just a little girl, why did my mom have to die? We were the perfect family. My father lost it once she left this world. But I was his princess, why is he letting these men hurt me like this? He said he would never let anything happen to me. I was just 10 when it started. It's been four years. I was an A+ student before this. I even took advanced classes. What did I do to deserve this? I tried to be good and the perfect daughter.

I snapped back to reality when he yanked the chains from my wrist causing me to scream in pain.

'Look at me'

And I did, he had a beard and he was big and muscular, he could be a body guard. His voice was deep and scary.

All I could think of was, why is this happening to me?

I was good. I was a good girl. A good daughter. Why does my father hate me?

Why did they have to kill my mother?

He started touching my face. And removed my hair from my forehead.

'You have very soft skin' he said with a smile. You could almost believe he wouldn't hurt me. I was wearing a big shirt and my underwear. That's all I was given to wear. I don't go to school anymore. Because I make him money this way. All I get is a dark room in the basement. No one can hear my screams from here. I closed my eyes again.

Not to long ago I tried to send a message. I tried calling the police station, from an old phone that didn't work anymore. My attempts to fix it were in vain. No one has come to rescue me and I don't think they will.

'I'll leave you alone with her' my dad spoke, and left the room. I didn't even realize he was in here.

I opened my eyes again to see him take out something from his pocket and come closer to me. I was afraid of what cane next.

But in never did...

He was picking the lock from the chains I had.

"What are you doing?"

'What does it look like kid. Im getting you out of this shit hole. We received your message. And we've been tracking your father these past few days. We collected information of how often this place is visited and tracked down the people that come here.' He finally got the chains off of me and gave me a smile. He looked young around his early twenties. But with his beard he looked older.

"I didn't think you got the message, I tried to fix an old phone but I thought I failed."

'Apparently you did not. We're here. And we have the house surrounded, there's no escape for your father or the disgusting men that are up there with him.' He looked around the room and spoke to a small microphone in his shirt.

'Get ready. We're getting you out of here.'

There was allot of noise and screaming upstairs and all of a sudden the door flung open with a loud noise.

This is it.. im free im finally free..

(2 years later)

My sixteenth birthday just passed and it feels good. My life really turned around when Jax saved me. He put me in foster care but luckily for me his parents were foster parents. They are the sweetest people I've ever met. They enrolled me in school and I'm all caught up, I'm still smart apparently and I can get a job now. Jax has given me lessons of self defense and has enrolled me in martial arts classes with the same instructor he had growing up. He also has me going to therapy for the traumatic experience I had and it has been helping but I can put all of my anger and frustration, every drop of emotion when I train.

Mother had me do gymnastics from when I was four till she passed away.

She was always supportive of me doing it and I enjoyed doing it. It was way better than ballet. She tried getting me in it but I just didn't like it.

And there's this cute boy in school that's been really kind to me. He's been helping me study and helping me catch up. We have a few things in common, he loves the outdoors and so do I. He doesn't have his parents like me and he lives with his aunt. A few blocks away from my foster parents Donele and Corey. Even if they aren't my parents and are a completely different race. They are my family. And I love them. And nothing else matters to me they are my parents and Jax is my brother.

I was in the room when my mom knocked on the door to let me know dinner was ready.

'Drew is the boy from your school coming for dinner? You know I told you to invite him over' she said in her Louisiana accent that I just love. There is never a dull moment with my mother Donele. There weren't many people from Louisiana here and I think I liked that the most. That she was different from everybody else.

"Yes momma I told him, he just now texted me he was on his way over." I said opening the door and headed downstairs.

'Okay baby girl help me set the table so we can have everything ready. Oh and don't forget to get your pawpa he's watching his damn show again.' My father Corey was from Texas and he had that heavy texan country accent. When they would argue about the most ridiculous things it was very cute. I wish one day I would be as happy as they are together.

"Yes momma, im done with the table ill go get dad." Just as I said that there was a knock on the door.

"Ill get it." I said headed to the door. As soon as I opened it there was a huge smile on my face.

'Hey Drew'

"Hey Louis, come in"
