Chapter 4: 4. Aged Iron City
"Let's get started then." Since he knew that he couldn't get one up on the system any time soon he decided to find someone else to talk to.

Tian Ye looked around the area to find exactly where he was in the Forest of Elves, while the Forest of Elves sounded and looked very beautiful and nice, in fact, it was a death trap, the Elves in this forest are not the beautiful and kind ones you see in novels and movies they were very superstitious and bloodthirsty. If he were to get found out here he would die without a doubt with his newbie stats, and now that he thought about it since he transported into this world when he would die he would die for real and not respawn.
Luckily for Tian Ye, he was quite familiar with the place, once when he was in a party of adventurers, they had gotten a quest to kill some of the elves, originally they thought that it would be easy since the environment was so beautiful, what type of monster would possibly ruin the environment with killing? It turns out that Elves did… Most of the party got ambushed and killed, those who were left alive ran and some got killed in traps set by the elves, Tian Ye was lucky enough to escape but he had to hide from the elves, he did not want to die as you would lose a lot of experience and a couple of items on your body, as long as one had the chance to escape no one would commit suicide. Tian Ye was lvl 40 at the time, gaining one level from there took almost a week and if he died he would lose 3 lvls and some equipment.
Tian Ye was very cautious and hid his tracks everywhere he went had never started a fire to cook anything, the elves were very angry that they let one of their prey get away so they spent a week looking for that person before they stopped, during that week, Tian Ye learned a lot about hiding his tracks and what decisions to make. Remembering those times he slyly smiled, he did not want to experience that again.
He ran out of the forest as fast as he could while covering his tracks and tried to avoid all the areas he knew of that had elves. A couple of hours later he made it out of the forest unscathed and relaxed, luckily he did not encounter any elves during the way, and he was also very lucky that when he had screamed earlier it did not attract any elves, Tian Ye suspected that it had something to do with the system as those creepy elves had very good hearing.
Out of the forest was a river, Orin River, Tian Ye knew that there was a city somewhere south that was good for beginners and located near the Orin River so he followed the river. While he had the chance, he looked at his reflection in the river and found out that he looked a little different than he did on Earth, he was 1.8 meters tall, sharp features and long hair, with blue eyes but the most important feature, was his aura, he radiated confidence. He was indeed very handsome, on Earth he was still handsome but he was a bit shorter, short hair, a little less handsome face and had pitch black eyes.
"Hey System, what did you do to me?" He said touching his face.
[One of the benefits of being transported into a new world is that you can recreate your body, so I took the initiative to make you look better, do you want it to be reverted?]
"No, no, no! Keep it! Keep it!" Tian Ye furiously shook his head, who would want to look uglier? As he was walking to the city he had a radiant smile on his face as he also discovered that a certain part of his body also got an 'upgrade'.

The Orin river is not a large river per se but compared to Earth's standard it was as big as the Amazon river, Tian Ye would often see boats sail across but when he tried to persuade them to let them on they did not even look at his ramblings. Tian Ye was just a low-level person, even if he was handsome no one would particularly pay attention unless he was a woman with the same level of beauty, in this world what mattered most was power.
Tian Ye spent 4 hours wandering around until he finally reached the city, by the time he reached the gates the sky turned dark.
The city was called Aged Iron City located right next to the oldest and largest iron mine on the continent, even though it was the largest it still did not make that much gold as iron did not sell that much in this world, there were many more materials in this world that were stronger and lighter than iron, some, even cheaper than iron.
Naturally with the small amount of gold that they were making they did not have enough money to expand the city so it remained a small scaled city since start till now. A small scaled city could handle around 750,000 residents and up to 1 million if needed but it would be very crowded and luckily this city did not have a fee when entering cause if they did, almost no one would come, the only attractive thing about this city was there was no fee when entering, a very good place for people with very little money or none, like Tian Ye.
Tian Ye already knew all of the areas in the city due to him spending quite a lot of time there for the first 1 and a half years of the game. While other people may think that this city was just a relic of the past with little value, Tian Ye, thought otherwise. When he first entered the city he also thought of it as a relic but due to one encounter with an NPC, he changed his mind.

During a sunny afternoon in Aged Iron City, there was a 9-year-old girl playing with flowers just outside the city walls. Tian Ye just happened to be returning a quest that he was contracted to do, he still had some time left and was not in a rush so he decided to look around and that was when he saw the little girl. She had caught his attention because she was very cute and lively, like any girl her age, but she was covered in rags and she was very dirty, even though she was probably very poor she did not mind it at all.
She was also playing all by herself but it seemed like she was perfectly content with it, she was very happy. Tian Ye was put in a daze as he saw that, even though people referred to them as NPCs they seemed so… real. He never really examined NPCs closely so he did not notice the emotions in them, people would usually only interact with NPCs to get quests or clues to items and such never really cared about them and just treated them as a walking bank of wealth and information. But if you were to look closely they had joy, sadness, anger, grief, any emotions that humans had too.
As he was standing in a daze staring at the girl, the girl noticed someone was looking at her so she had walked up and asked the stranger something with a cute smile.
"Hello, mister, would you like to play with me?"
