Chapter 3: Ch.3 Cactus Island
~Umiko's POV~
*Time Skip - 8 Months*
It's been eight months since I left the island and since then I've been to 8 islands. My first time in another island I was very excited because it was the first time in over 2 years that I've had human interaction, so first thing I did was walk around town and talking to random people to get some information about the island. I mapped the island and its landmarks in my head and then went to a restaurant which was recommended by a few people. I didn't order much because I didn't like the food that much but that didn't bother me because I got some good information on baroque works from there. Some people were talking about a wierd pirate crew who came here a few weeks back whose captain wore makeup and a wierd dress with swans in the back and two round balls on top of his head. The only person who would walk around like that was Bethnam or as he is more popularly known as 'Bon Clay'.
I was very happy with this and I was pretty sure I knew where he was headed. The next day I set sail and after a week or so I reached the island I had been searching for, Cactus Island. This island was full of baroque work's people. Even though it was not guaranteed Robin would be here, I still didn't want to miss of spying on the other elite members. I sneaked around the island after hiding my boat and came across a cave, which I decided to convert into my hideout. I've decided to not use my devil fruit powers unless its an emergency because I didn't want reveal all my strength, well atleast until Luffy was strong enough. I wanted him to be the strongest among us. He's the one who was to be the Pirate King and as our captain it was his responsibility to take care of us and protect us if needed. After thinking I came a decision to use only haki and my daggers while fighting and I also wanted teach Luffy and others, the basics of haki after joining the crew.
*Time Skip - 7 Months*
It's been over a year since I left the Island and for the last seven months I've been spending my time spying on the baroque work's members and occasionally leaving to other islands. Five months ago I scouted the island and occasionally made a small hideout of sorts and after covering the entire island I connected all my hideouts together and thus efficiently creating a network of caves across the island, this made my spying a lot easier and I even snuck a peek at their communication room which was filled with den-den Mushies.
I occasionally see some people who were shown in the cannon and I even saw Vivi once, but not once had I seen the one I longed to meet the most, Robin. This changed last week when I got some information while spying the comms room that Mrs. All Sunday would be arriving in a week. I was ECSTATIC. Not only would I be able to meet Robin but I would also finally be able to leave Cactus Island.
'OOHHH!!! There she is!!!' I screamed internally as I saw Robin get off a ship through my telescope. She was wearing a purplish leather jacket that ended at her midribs with shorts, a cowboy hat and long boots and had a tan. She was led into one of the buildings by Miss. Monday.
*Time Skip - 1 Month*
The last one month I followed Robin around and got more information on crocodiles plans. Then two days ago she was called by crocodile telling her to return to Alabasta. So here I am on my boat on my way to Alabasta. I left a day before Robin did because I didn't want to take any chances of getting noticed. I think it took the strawhats a little over a month to get to Alabasta because they had to stop by the drum kingdom on the way to get Nami treated so it should take me about two three weeks to reach Alabasta.
