Chapter 12: Vol 2 Prologue
Loki had been sucked into the portal created. The long fight had exhausted his chakra completely. The strain of using Susanoo, even if it was a partial one had been great. This was the first time that he had used Susanoo. Even as Obito, he had never used Susanoo as he never had access to both of his eyes. The only time he had seen his susanoo in action was when he had given them to Kakashi.
(Note, this is Loki's recollection of his life as Obito)
He remembered his time spent inside the impure lands. The after life for the shinobi world. He and Rin were atleast together in the impure lands. He had apologized to her for being late and that he had gotten lost on the path of life. And for not keeping his promise for becoming Hokage. He had met his grandmother and she had made him some of his favorite foods. It felt nice to chat with her once more.
He had also met his sensei Minato and Kushina. Kushina had proceeded to physically torment and beat him up. While Minato sensei had proceeded to laugh at him. Kushina sensei had then proceeded to hug him after that. Minato sensei had started to pat his head. Obito had started to wail after that apologizing to his sensei and his wife.
He had made his peace with them and together they had watched over the Ninja world and its developments. But eventually, all things must pass even death. And so Obito and Rin had left the impure world to the wheel of reincarnation or the wheel of life.
His sensei said that he was going to stay and wait for Naruto.
Loki had looked into Rin's soft brown eyes and her smiling face.
"If only we could spend the next life together as well. " Obito had glanced wistfully at her. He would forget about her, Obito had thought. That would be one of his greatest regrets.
Rin had proceeded to poke him in the head. When he had glanced up at her. She had smiled, "Obito, you have a tendency to get lost. I mean look at you, you passed your bad habits onto kakashi as well." Her laughter rang out and Obito had begun to chuckle as well. Kakashi had really copied him down to a T. Helping old ladies, taking the long way around when he saw a black cat. The list goes on and on.
Rin had proceeded to kiss him, "Next time. I will look for you. You have a tendency to get lost too often."

Loki felt his eyes getting wet. "I am sorry Rin." Loki had thought.
It seems that he had gotten lost once more.
The only thing Loki wanted was to be acknowledged. That was all he ever wanted.
He had seen his fate and had attempted to change it. And yet it had remained the same. Loki closed his eyes in acceptance. He was so tired and it would be alright to close his eyes. Maybe, once more in death he would find his peace.
Loki felt something snap, his connection to asgard he realized and he was assaulted by an incredible amount of pain. He did not even have the strength to scream. Loki was also unable to pass in the blissful ignorance of unconsciousness. There was something preventing him from doing that.
Yggdrasill, the world tree, is an energy field that supports and connects all of the Realms and all the connections pass through the realms of Earth. It was more then that. It was sentient. It was something that held all of the nine realms together. Weakening the effect of demonic incursions and dimensional invasion. It acted foremost as a shield. Only if the nine realms fell, wound the rest of the universe be free to demonic incursions. That was the reason that the nine realms had been continuously under threat.
Loki had come and had tried to make a deal with it. It had looked into Loki's soul. Seen his past instances. It had agreed.
And yet the deal had not been fulfilled. Loki's connection to asgard had been diminished but not severed. So all the terms had not been fulfilled. Loki still had his asgardian immortality.
Had Loki left asgard before, the terms would have been fulfilled and Loki's transformation would have been completed earlier.
And now the deal had been fulfilled. Loki had lost his connection to asgard finally. Loki's eyes started to burn, it was more intense then that. It felt as if a thousand red hot needles were poking into his eyes. Burning and piercing them. His vision went blind and Loki found himself in a state of blindness. Loki's skin began to fluctuate between red and blue. One moment, Loki burned and the other moment Loki froze. His skin began to burn and shatter. Loki felt as if the pain lasted for eternity.
Loki had lost his asgardian heritage and his body began to slowly break down and then reform. His body was slowly strengthened during the process. His ribs and bones breaking and reshaping themselves. His organs reforming, a chakra network being developed and destroyed rapidly. Part of his body's mass being consumed to keep the process going.
The ice and fire being absorbed into his body, after his skin had been consumed. Burning and freezing his internal organs. His jotun heritage from his mother's side began to be consumed. Turning into a kekkai genkai(bloodline limit). Ice release and lava release. He could see and hear nothing, the only thing he could feel was pain and his own body being remodeled.
Everything in exquisite detail. His bones breaking and then reforming. His nerves first growing and then burning. His organs being remodeled. Again and Again and Again. Loki never knew how much time had passed. His entire body reformed for the last time and Loki finally mercifully passed out. Loki was now younger, smaller in size due to the reformation process. Sensing the hostile environment, Loki's body went into suspended animation.
The deal had been fulfilled but not completely, Loki was still not powerful enough to accept his final gift. His own body would completely disintegrate if he tried to accept that gift. So Yggdrasil would wait, Loki would either fall or he would be the salvation for all the realms. Going against fate is not for those that are faint of heart and Loki would be the catalyst to change the fate of all the realms and beyond.

And so Loki fell in the gap between dimension, the place outside of space and time. The space outside reality. And while Loki was in suspended animation, a couple of centuries will pass.
Time would move on, that would be until there would be a disruption in the space-time continuum. A natural event and that would lead to the natural formation of a portal. The cause was the explosion of the Quantum Gate which gave the fantastic five their powers. They had gained powers from linking them with other realities but that had caused a disruption in the space-time continuum.
As a result a portal opened up, after which Loki fell onto the south pole. His body would remain frozen and in a state of suspended animation. His body would remain their until it was discovered by an expedition in 1950.
Again it is important to remember that the Quantum gate explosion had reverberated throughout time and the portal that deposited Loki had been to a random place and time. Which was the south pole. He was discovered in 1950.
