Surprisingly, a decent novel. People actually behave like people instead of pre-programmed "courting death" NPCs. The interactions are reasonable, and conflicts generally have a reason. The pacing is a bit on the slower side, but it's not the frustrating kind where you feel the author is stalling. More so just establishing the world and setting things up. A pretty enjoyable read.
I was really enjoying it until he joined the Holy Pill Sect—or something like that. But after that, he completely changed. He went from being a genius: calculative, cruel when necessary yet still somewhat kind, to a rash, brazen, and typical brain-dead MC. It's honestly disappointing. 😩

There are missing chapters in the book, after the chapter 355 which is titled Chapter 198: The Strange Stone of Sword Qi_2 the next chapter aka chapter 356 is titled Chapter 202 Blood Fire Spirit Pill, meaning the chapter 356 is incorrect and should be titled 199. Can the author/translator please update it to include the missing chapters.

Like most have said, the first arc is great. Good world building and character development. Struggles after the first arc. MC changes completely in attitude and basically stops grinding his skills. 100 chapters after the first arc and his skills have barely changed. Also, like most have said chapters 199 to 201 are missing, I have had no luck finding the raws to try and read the chapters that way. One very annoying translation error is that the two main opposing faction leaders in the first arc have their names used interchangeably regularly, making it hard to know what's going on and ruins the flow.

I think they changed authors. Because I read it through Raw and around chapter 240 or so, the writing style changed, it's faster, a lot of parts are skipped and even the MC seems to have a different personality.

The first 150 chapters are great, MC is low key but not afraid to use his strength, and characters have motivations and aren't just cogs in the MC's story. After that, it goes downhill a lot, MC barely uses his cheat, becomes stupid and not low key at all, starts openly offending people he can't handle (something he very actively avoided in the beginning), and enemies become stupid and tropey. The writing changes too, to the point where I found myself laughing at some of the cringe and cliche things being said. I would give the early story a solid 4 stars, after that however, it might barely reach 3 stars
It started really well with a nice pace and all but later just something seemed off about it and some chapters are missing too ch 355-198 and the next one is 356-202 directly. hope it gets corrected.

currently Ch: 500 the beginning was chilled. just that the pacing is slow or either the descriptions are repetitive or too long. I had thought it would improve however the story doesn't have a spark that sets itself from other novels. it's written in a way of like learning at school. that's the only downside
It had a great start he lies lowkey and grinds and becomes stronger . He uses another identity to fight and get resources . It was after he left his village everything slowly started going downhill he takes on an unesscary expedition with strangers who are clearly doing something suspiciosus and decideds to risk it for fkin adventuring lmao , later he starts using identity to show off his talent and kills people like sons of sect master/elders of other enemy sects without covering up his tracks or destroying the bodies . Then it gets even better bro acts fkin clueless in many situations the enemies just as retarted. Worse translation goes down hill for stats 😭 of system . Next chapters all seem messed up starting from 450 chapter all the new ones feel off like something is skipped and it becomes unreadable. Overall a great start and a great fall. I suggest to stop after he leaves his village to head to Holy pill sect if you are reading this.
A generic story about a cautious mc that gets stronger without risking anything only to suddenly change into a reckless fool after the first arc.
the mc uses an axe and a bow. that's all i ever wanted to see... for that, this receives a 5 star from me. screw swords.
After he left the county, the tone of the story suddenly change. He was careful and trained extensively, and hide his tracks. It suddenly flips his personality.

I rrad the raws after I finished a good portion of the story here. My advice? Don't waste your time with this book. The MC starts out cautious and the story had a clear internal logic at first. But after starting the rawr, which have not yet been translated for this site, I cam promise you that the story just continues to disappoint and declines in quality. Didn't even take 10 chapters before the MC acts like a total imbecile, all his previous caution and steady approach just gone and forgotten, risking his life for the 'plot', which just turned ridiculous… From a martial arts theme, this piece of junk just veered of the path and suddenly the appearance of damned monsters and supernatural phenomena doesn't even cause a hint of shock to the MC, who just acts as if were par of the course… To be honest, it suddenly read like a completely different story, one that I did not enjoy one bit…

Starts off great until the end of the 1st arc. The style of the story completely changes to the point that it's not even the same novel. All characters (including the mc) lose their braincells, and the situations become so forced that you can't even pretend to enjoy reading it. I genuinely liked it, so I'm really disappointed and let down. I'm not sure what happened, but like someone else said, it's most likely that there was an author change. I still recommend reading the first arc tho
