Chapter 29: The Primordial Earth Dragon Awakes From Its Slumber!

"Well, let me try it then." After saying so, Li Changsheng cautiously approached the unconscious Primordial Earth Dragon.

As he walked closer, Li Changsheng realized again how enormous this monster was and how insignificant a human like him was in front of such a monstrosity.

He subconsciously swallowed a big gulp before trying to establish contact with the divine beast.

A beast at this level had already developed sentience and self-consciousness, and its intelligence was equal to humans' or even exceeded theirs. So, they would be able to communicate with other sentient beings without much difficulty.

However, after trying a few times, he didn't obtain any desirable results, as his attempt met with a lack of response from the Primordial Earth Dragon.

It seemed that, despite still retaining a sliver of consciousness, the dragon wasn't in a state to communicate with the outside world.

Feeling that it would be futile if he were to keep going this way, Li Changsheng immediately gave up doing it on his own and turned to the other person behind him.

"Which of you can wake this guy up?"

Song Yuxuang glanced at the Primordial Earth Dragon and stepped forward with a confident stride. "Let me try!"

Li Changsheng nodded and immediately retreated. The others followed.

Song Yuxuang made his move. The spiritual energy around him raged and bellowed like the cusp of a storm, carrying a crushing pressure capable of destroying everything in sight.

Despite standing far away, Li Changsheng could sense the might behind his move.

Song Yuxuang let out a roar, light bloomed in his hand, and a storm of energy blasted forward toward the Primordial Earth Dragon like a hurricane hammered its way to ravage the massive mountain ahead.

Everything on its path was overhauled; the stone ceiling trembled and cracked; the ground bellowed shattered and upturned; nothing seemed to be able to hinder its advance.

Soon, its entire body was engulfed by the storm of energy.

However, the Primordial Earth Dragon didn't even flinch; it lay unmoving just like before, as if the violent attack was nothing more than a light wind breeze before an immovable mountain.

"I give up." Seeing the monster doesn't budge at all, Song Yuxuang sighed despondently. "I already gave my full blow just now, but it couldn't shake this monster at all."

"Well, it's natural. The Primodial Earth Dragon is known to have an unbreakable defense; even a saint-level expert might not be able to hurt it, let alone you, who are a mere Supreme." Desolate Demon mocked.

Hearing this, Li Changsheng frowned slightly. "Is there no other way?"

At this time, Chang'e, who hadn't spoken a word since earlier and stayed silently behind Li Changsheng, opened her small mouth.

"Changsheng, the Primordial Earth Dragon has lost its consciousness due to its severe injury. If it has enough vitality, it'll have enough energy to recover on its own, and after that, it'll automatically regain its consciousness. You should try to give it some vitality."

"Are you sure?"

Li Changsheng gave her a strange glance, but Chang'e simply nodded as if what she said was not worth mentioning at all.

"How do you know this, Chang'e?"

"Well." Chang'e tilted her head, baffled. "it just came into my mind."

Li Changsheng pondered for a bit before nodding lightly. Chang'e didn't seem to be pretending in front of him and simply told him the truth without any ulterior motive. He was sure of this.

He stopped dwelling about it and decided to trust her.

The Life Scripture's chant started flowing out of his mouth, and a thick stream of vitality moved along with it toward the slumbering dragon.

One year, two years, ten years… one hundred years, two hundred years…

Within a few seconds, Li Changsheng directly poured a thousand years' worth of lifespan into the Primordial Earth Dragon!

Unlike humans, dragons had extremely long lifespans. For such a divine beast, a hundred years of a human's life essence was only enough to replenish a year of its lifespan. Thus, even though Li Changsheng had transferred such a massive amount of vitality, it only lasted ten years for the Dragon clan.

Nevertheless, the movement caused by it was still extremely terrifying.

As the vitality continued to pour into the dragon's body, a visible change gradually came into view.

The huge scar on its back that looked like a giant axe had cleaved its skin nearly in half began to sprout tender flesh bud and the wound started to heal. The severely damaged brown dragon scales covering its massive body also began to fall off, and new scales started to grow.

Not only did the surface wounds on the dragon's body gradually heal, but its aura also began to rise.

Click——

The sound of splinters and crashing metal shakes the air. The chains that originally shackled Primordial Earth Dragon fall apart from its slight movement; the links were crushed and shattered into a pile of useless metal.

Huff——

Huff——

A strong burst of energy suddenly exploded from its body, causing the cavern to vibrate and the ground to quake like a tsunami crashing onto the shore.

Li Changsheng nearly fell off his feet, while the others behind him could only crouch down and brace themselves. Expectedly or unexpectedly, Chang'e was the only one who remained unaffected by the impact.

Seeing that Li Changsheng was about to fall, she quickly stepped forward to support him.

"It's okay. I'm fine." Li Changsheng gave Chang'e a grateful look as he quickly steadied his footing.

He shifted his eyes forward once again and murmured to himself, "Is the Primordial Earth Dragon about to wake up?"

"Seems so—"

On the side, Desolate Demon was finally back to his feet, and his voice was slightly trembling in trepidation.

"If such a powerful monster wakes up in anger, none of us will be able to survive its wrath."

Li Changsheng shook his head lightly, seemingly not worried by the possible backlash.

After all, its life was granted by himself, and he could immediately withdraw it if the dragon showed the slightest sign of retaliation.

The shockwave slowly subsided, and the Primordial Earth Dragon rose up majestically from where it laid motionless.

Its eyelids trembled slightly, then it slowly lifted open and revealed its enormous slitted ruby-red eyes.

Its gaze swept the room for a moment before focusing on the five people before it.

"Who save me...?"

Its voice reverberated within the cavern, deep and distant, making it difficult to discern its gender. The sound was majestic, befitting a creature that once ruled over the world.

"That's I am." Li Changsheng walked forward slowly with his head held high, trying not to show the fluctuating emotion deep within. He opened his mouth with a firm will. "The renewed vitality running through your body was bestowed by me. I'm the one who saved your life."

The Primordial Earth Dragon moved its limbs and slowly crawled in front of Li Changsheng.

The extremely humongous eyes gradually came closer, like two black holes. Its fierce gaze stared straight into his eyes, penetrating into his soul.

It finally stopped just two meters in front of Li Changsheng.
